Make my day.

About @ndy

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I like anarchy. I don't like nazis. I enjoy eating pizza and drinking beer. I barrack for the greatest football team on Earth: Collingwood Magpies. The 2024 premiership's a cakewalk for the good old Collingwood.

    Where are you and what’s your real name? No lies now!

    Depends who you ask! Mr. Moran, that’s who I am. Some call me Sal, some call me Sam. Some call me when they’re in a jam. Cause I’m the man, I’m Mr. Moran. I might be from deep in the heart of Texas. Maybe I’m from New York. Make that Knoxville, Tennessee. In any case, don’t repeat this conversation, don’t let on we’ve met before, try and make like I’m a stranger: I’m a man you never saw.

    As for my location, here’s a tip:

    Suh. Will you never stop backstabbing real anarchist revolutionaries, defending knife-wielding fascist Jock types and providing a fucking bulletin board for neo-nazi’s?

    Have you NO decency suh?

    Have you NO exit strategy?

  22. @ndy says:

    @Eric: What’s wrong with a kiss, boy? Hm? Why not start her off with a nice kiss? You don’t have to go leaping straight for the clitoris like a bull at a gate. Give her a kiss, boy.

    @inglourious_basterd: 42.

    @Kyle Crapman: Western society has become more driven with careers, individual interests and a more flexible family unit has appeared. This has created an Ontological Insecurity in our society that has drawn people into closer relationships with animals (Franklin, A. 1999 pp194-195). As the decline of ontological security developed in late modernity pet numbers increased and people’s attachment to animal relationships grew more predominant. Family members have become more unreliable and less available in regards to many of the humans emotional craving. On the other hand animals are dependant and loving providing a child like attachment that fulfils the need for a reliable emotional bond. The need for a stable companionship and other “ordinary but significant embodied benefits-touch, someone to come home to, someone to doze with, cuddle, groom, feed, even clothe.” (Franklin, A. 1999 p195).

    @Professor rat: Nein!

  26. Jamie-R says:

    Have you ever been arrested at the MCG? If so, are you hopeful Frank McGuire’s ascension to the working class throne will mean bail applications and posting of them will all be streamlined and granted through Centrelink for Pies fans?

  27. @ndy says:

    Have you ever been arrested at the MCG?

    No comment.

    If so, are you hopeful Frank McGuire’s ascension to the working class throne will mean bail applications and posting of them will all be streamlined and granted through Centrelink for Pies fans?

    Until such time as we abolish the prison system, yes. Be that as it may, I understand that Frank’s central platform is to adapt HoWARd’s skool policy on flags and anthems; to throw out the tired old so-called “national” anthem and the tatty old apron for something moar sensible. Paraphrasing Hegel, Frank has stated that this would be more rational, and thus real. Like, from the streets…

  28. Pro-Gun says:

    Are you a supporter of the Right to Bear Arms[?]

    My question is… haha! Tricked you all! I’m going to be shameless and plug my blog! http://theredstartwinklesmischievously.wordpress.com/ MWHAHAHAHA! Yes, if adverse to reactionary politics, I advise you to consult my eclectic blog. Otherwise, question to provoke debate: Should Australian troops immediately leave Afghanistan?

  37. @ndy says:

    Should Australian troops immediately leave Afghanistan?

    Ah er um… dunno. Peter Garrett reckons they’re only there to lend a hand, so, y’know. Srsly but, it’s been a public secret for some time that them’s gonna have to leave sooner or later, and when they do the puppet government will collapse. Me, I take my cues from RAWA.

  38. LeftInternationalist says:

    I Love RAWA! They’re a great organisation. Long Live Women’s Liberation Worldwide!

    Spotted Lefties in (February) 2008. The G20 thing would appear to be largely footage of the March 28 ‘militant workers’ bloc’ (anarchists and libertarian socialists et al). These guys have got a really unique sound http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Redskins

  42. @ndy says:

    Yeah. I got their LP (Neither Washington Nor Moscow) and a Peels Sessions 10″. (I had a live CD too which I unfortunately lost.) Not bad for a buncha Trots. Insurgence Records–a really good oi! label outta Canada–done released some of their stuff last year. You may wanna check out McCarthy too if you ain’t already.

  43. LeftInternationalist says:

    A sign of healthy debate, perhaps? https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=274934655869221. Hopefully it’s the right link, but it was a SAlt meeting in Melbourne On Marxism and Anarcho-Syndicalism, a debate and discussion. From reading the comments, reactions seems to be pretty positive i.e. one guy said “What a great meeting. I think one guy from the Anarchist Club spoke 4 or 5 times. Pluralism is alive and well.”

  44. @ndy says:

    Yeah dunno: I didn’t go. But if people who went found it informative, that’s obv a good thing. I’ll ask the anarchist(s) I know who went what they thought of it. In the meantime a) it’s simply wrogn to describe Proudhon and Goldman as ‘individualists’ and b) anarchist movements embraced class struggle prior to the emergence of anarcho-syndicalism. Otherwise, yeah, the debate on the pages of the SWP’s journal is worthwhile for those who wanna orient themselves regarding the issues (tho’ it should be noted that a number of anarchists reject Schmidt and Lucien van der Walt’s basic thesis).

    An Anarchist FAQ : Anarchism and Marxism

    This appendix exists to refute some of the many anti-anarchist diatribes produced by Marxists. While we have covered why anarchists oppose Marxism in section H, we thought it would be useful to reply to Marxist webpages and books whose content is not explicitly covered in that section. In this way we hope to indicate that Marxism is a flawed theory, flawed even to the extent of not being able to present a honest critique of anarchism. This consistent attempt to smear anarchism and distort its history and ideas is no co-incidence — rather it is required in order to present Marxism as the only viable form of socialism and, more importantly, to hide the fact that much of the populist Marxist rhetoric was, in fact, said by anarchists first and [later] stolen by Marxists to hide the authoritarian basis of their politics.

    One last point. We are aware that we repeat many of our arguments in these appendices. That, unfortunately, is [un]avoidable for two reasons. Firstly, Marxists usually repeat the same false assertions against anarchism and so we have to answer them each time they appear. Marxists seem to subscribe to the point of view that repeating an error often enough makes it true. Secondly, we have tried to make each appendix as self-contained as possible and that meant repeating certain material and arguments to achieve this. We hope the reader understands.
