In which case, the Socialist Alliance deserves to be taken off to the knackery. Well, that’s what SA candidate John Tattersall’s performance in the recent Victoria Park by-election would suggest. Tatttersall got just 127 votes or 0.81% of the total. Given the DSP’s public enthusiasm for the SA, I half-expect to read an article in the Green Left Weakly pointing out the good news: Tattersall beat “van Lieshout” (41 votes or 0.26%) and “Ward” (84 votes or 0.54%). Or perhaps they’d rather pass over in silence election results of which they’d rather not speak…
