Long live Kim Jong-Il! Long live Kim Jong-Un!

I was going to update the Trot Guide but world-historical events have intervened as Dear Leader departs.

Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, passed away from a great mental and physical strain at 08:30 December 17, 2011, on train during a field guidance tour.

The WPK Central Committee and Central Military Commission, DPRK National Defence Commission, Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly and Cabinet released a notice on Saturday informing the WPK members, servicepersons and all other people of his passing away.

Index of consumer sentiment of Australia fell by 8.3 percent in December from 103.4 points in November to 94.7 points, its lowest level since August, an economic organization of the country said on Dec. 14.

Wet tears may never dry.

Defend North Korean Deformed Workers State!
Onward to Communism!

  1. Berlusconi Youth says:

“Actor Rob Schneider has defended his role in the upcoming film biography of recently deceased North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il. Speaking to journalists in Beijing before boarding a plane to the isolated communist nation, Schneider said he ‘fell in love with Michael Bay’s script.’ North Korean refugee groups in Seoul have denounced the planned film as ‘propaganda’. Critics are doubtful of the film’s appeal outside of the so-called Hermit Kingdom, and question whether this is the right vehicle to turn around Schneider’s flagging career. ‘Frankly, I don’t know what he’s thinking,’ an anonymous Hollywood insider said.”

Gaddafi, Kim Jong Il and maybe Bashar Al-Assad in the near-future, why do all the best Socialist generalissimos have to die so young? It’s almost enough to make me weep. At least we can say that Robert Mugabe has lived a long life. I’m personally expecting a power struggle in heaven between newly reunited Father and Son over the prestigious role of ‘Eternal President’, which the great leader Kim Il Sung has held since 1998, four years after his death.

  3. LeftInternationalist says:

How exactly do the Sparts justify their existence? I mean, by the way they speak and act in such an obnoxious and ignorant fashion, one would expect them to be a CIA front group to discredit the Left. It would be worse if they actually did believe the nonsense they propagate.

  6. @ndy says:

The International Communist League (Fourth Internationalist) is a proletarian, revolutionary and internationalist tendency committed to the task of building Leninist parties as national sections of a democratic-centralist international. Our aim is the achievement of new October Revolutions—nothing else, nothing other, nothing less. The ICL bases itself on Marxist historical, dialectical materialism and seeks in particular to carry forward the international working-class perspectives of Marxism developed in the theory and practice of the Bolshevik leaders V. I. Lenin and L. D. Trotsky and embodied in the decisions of the first four Congresses of the Communist International as well as key documents of the Fourth International such as the Transitional Program (1938) and “War and the Fourth International” (1934). We also look to James P. Cannon, a leader of the early American Communist Party who was won to Trotskyism and went on to become a principal founder of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP), working in close collaboration with Leon Trotsky. The origins of the ICL are in the Spartacist League/U.S., which began as the Revolutionary Tendency in the SWP and was bureaucratically expelled in 1963. Our ICL “Declaration of Principles and Some Elements of Program” was modeled on the Declaration of Principles adopted at the 1966 founding conference of the SL/U.S.

The concept of the deformed workers’ state has very good credentials; the Sparts call for a social revolution in South Korea and a political revolution in North Korea, as part of a regional and global revolution, also seems fairly orthodox.

  7. LeftInternationalist says:

Andy, what do you mean when you say the concept of the deformed workers’ state has very good credentials? Do you mean the theoretical concept, or that it has a long legacy of being used? I’ve never had much truck with it myself- I’d generally align myself with the state capitalist theory as to how to characterise NK- but generally I would just call it a totalitarian state, which has appropriated the very worst aspects of both Stalinism and fascism (given the NK obsession with ‘Korean racial purity’ etc).

  8. El Pedro says:

Funny how the world and indeed history have left Marxist Socialism behind in the dust.

Indeed, the idea of abolishing classes and states [has] been abandon[ed] by most people except for those hardcore old guard types.

Further, it is of interest that the Australian working class has not embraced the left ideologies that call for the abolition of classes and states and instead have embraced the Australian Greens who want to maintain capitalism and the Australian nation state.

Has anyone noticed that the CPA is selling diaries with hammer and sickles and pictures of comrades Lenin, Engels and Marx on the covers? I saw an ad for them in the last issue of The Guardian for the year. I might buy one if they are still selling them next year.

In conclusion, Anarchists suck cock and Stalinists rule. THE END!

  9. El Pedro says:

On further inspection, I see that the diaries do not contain any pictures of Comrade Joseph Stalin on the covers. The CPA leadership should have printed pictures of Marshal Stalin. You can buy the diaries, pens and notebooks for $6 from the Party office in Sydney.

A communist diary and notebook would go well with my pictures of Stalin and Hitler that hang on my bedroom wall with the USSR and Third Reich flags that hang besides the pictures of the two respective portraits of the Fuhrer and Soviet Premier.

Get that through your head, @ndy!

  10. Paul Justo says:

‘Left Internationalist’ to see where the Spartacists & Trotskyist Platform are coming from you need to read Trotsky himself e.g. http://www.marxists.org/archive/trotsky/idom/dm/07-shachtman1.htm

Exchange the PRC and DPRK for USSR in the letter quoted and you will see that the Spartacists are indeed on solid orthodox Trotskyite grounds.

The essential difference between the Spartacists & Trotskyist Platform is that the latter in hundreds of pages of polemics have not yet mentioned Michael Jackson or NAMBLA [North American Man/Boy Love Association].

  11. LeftInternationalist says:

Yes, and it’s a shame that they retain such an obviously outdated position- I don’t think Trotsky himself would have been stupid enough to keep thinking the way he did-and his conception of a ‘degenerated workers state’ is full of contradictions, which is why I find it an unsatisfactory characterisation of the USSR. Plus, both the Sparts and the Platform are completely insignificant on the socialist left- the only reason people even know of the Sparts existence is because of what a complete car crash and embarrassment they are. I wouldn’t in any way accept them as representative.

Hope the trot guide gets updated soon @ndy!

  14. @ndy says:

Me too. Sadly, there’s not a lot to report: no mergers or splits and few scandals. I was hoping that some Left Communists might have some legs, but it appears not. Otoh, I did spot the Communist League at Occupy Sydney which is something. And the SP got another member elected to the Yarra Soviet… so there’s a few bits ‘n’ pieces I can add I s’pose.

  15. @ndy says:

    Oh yeah…

    G’day Peter.

National Bolshevism eh? Not convinced there’s much of an audience for it in Australia, but then what would I know right? Otherwise, yes, anarchists do suck cock. So do Stalinists, neo-Nazis, leftists, right-wingers, liberals, conservatives, communists, Christians, Buddhists, atheists, Devil-worshippers, men, women, GLBTIQ folks and more besides.

I take it you think fellatio is Bad?

    Oh well.

  16. LeftInternationalist says:

Gotta love those cat communists. There’s got to be somewhere I can get some chocolate Trotskies from…

  17. Peter Watson says:

Australia needs a strong man to solve its problems. A man who will crush lefties, politicians, non-whites, homosexuals and other sexual deviants, undesirables, troublemakers, the middle class inner city elite and traitors to the Australian nation. A man who will stand up to foreign imperialism and international capitalism. A strong man who will unite Australians under one banner against the enemies of our nation both internally and externally. A great man who will eliminate and do away with our stupid weak democracy and impose his will upon us. I would be more than willing to get behind him and die for the movement. Liberal democracy has been a failure and must be destroyed. The opposition, who are the enemies of Australia, must be smashed and thrown into concentration camps. A man who will destroy multiculturalism and all other forms of social liberalism and who will restore White Australia at all costs. Australia needs a modern day Fidel Castro, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini or a General Franco. Or the Australian Defence Force could take power in a military coup and execute the Federal Government and establish a military junta. How about it, His Excellency President of the Republic of Greater Australia and Major General of the Australian Defence Force Peter Watson Conquerer of Asia and the Pacific Defeater of International Capitalism Generalissimo and Supreme Leader?
