APEC : Welcome to Sydney

About @ndy

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I like anarchy. I don't like nazis. I enjoy eating pizza and drinking beer. I barrack for the greatest football team on Earth: Collingwood Magpies. The 2024 premiership's a cakewalk for the good old Collingwood.

“[the Police] are the coercive arm of the state that must be able to impose the will of the state on those who would thumb their noses at the laws, and we must have the power and ability to do that.”

Thats by the NZ Police Commissioner, Greg O’Connor, in October last year

“a Police Association conference that was told officers wanted to get in the face of criminals – and wanted liberals to get out of their way.”

Nice to see a bit of honesty, eh?

I hope you naughty NZ anarchists aren t going to be descending en masse to spoil our nice APEC protest, hmmn? I m looking at you, Asher…

  3. Asher says:

No need, we taught you all what to do at G20, remember? 😛

Actually, while APEC’s going on, there’s an Anarchist conference up in Auckland that should be interesting (info, conf. reader and agenda up at http://aspaceinside.googlepages.com ) 🙂

Cheers Ash — I think I still got the book somewhere with all the instructions in it (tho’ I must confess that, 9 months later, I’m still only up to page 201, with 465 to go!).

Btw, on Friday night, somewhere or other in the city, some fillums were shown, and some things said. The conversation, apparently, concerned the worthiness of the text in question. More to the point, the NZ anarchists’ PR consultant Mick was there, but I wasn’t, so I’m kinda hopin’ someone else will fill us in…

As for foreign anarchists coming to APEC, it’s cool. I have it on very good authority that the plane-load of British anarchists who were on their way to S11 in September 2000 are scheduled to arrive in Australia any day now. Apparently, they got caught in some kinda ‘space-time anomaly’ (don’t ask me — I’m not a physicist), have had all sorts of wonderful adventures, are really really apologetic about the slight delay, but remain incredibly keen to assist their comrades Down Under… Oh, and the German and Swedish comrades are nowhere to be found, but according to the same reliable sources, “they will come in the dawn” and all we need remember is to “look toward the east”.

  5. Asher says:

We had about 30 anarchist penguins and leopard seals from the Arctic circle staying at ours last week, on their way over to Sydney. They said they were planning some sort of sea-based attack on the Sydney Opera House.

Yeah well, word on the street — and this is just between you and me mind — is that over two years ago members of the Mutiny collective began infiltrating the staff at Taronga Zoo, and, using mind-control techniques first developed by the CIA back in the ’60s, have secretly trained some of the more popular indigenous animals (including snakes, possums, frogs, lizards, owls, echidnas and a baby crocodile) to — at the appropriate signal (reputed to be the words ‘Joe’ and ‘Hildebrand’ uttered in rapid succession) — overpower their human captors, and to then run amok (or slither and crawl amok, as the case may be).

And of course, we all know whose wives will be treated to a private viewing at Garden Island don’t we?

    Ha ha ha ha ha!

    ‘sfools!

    But ssshhh, don’t tell anyone…
