{"id":138,"date":"2006-02-25T23:07:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-25T13:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=138"},"modified":"2006-05-01T02:10:56","modified_gmt":"2006-04-30T16:10:56","slug":"thomas-found-guilty-of-receiving-3500-a-plane-ticket-and-having-a-dodgy-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=138","title":{"rendered":"Thomas found guilty of receiving $3,500, a plane ticket, and having a dodgy visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/newsitems\/200602\/s1578592.htm\">Thomas found guilty of receiving Al Qaeda funding<\/a><br \/>\nABC News Online<br \/>\nSunday, February 26, 2006. 2:57pm (AEDT)<\/p>\n<p>A Victorian man has been found guilty of receiving funds from a terrorist group.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice4jack.com\/\">Joseph Terrence Thomas<\/a>, 32, of Werribee, near Melbourne, was charged with receiving funds from and providing resources to Al Qaeda.<\/p>\n<p>His lawyer told the Victorian Supreme Court there was no evidence Thomas provided himself as a resource while training at the Al Farooq camp in Afghanistan, or that he had agreed to work for Osama bin Laden in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The jury cleared him of those allegations but found him guilty of receiving a plane ticket home and $US3,500 from the terrorist group.<\/p>\n<p>He was also found guilty of having a Pakistan visa changed to disguise how long he had been in the region.<\/p>\n<p>His lawyer asked that he be allowed to continue his bail until his plea hearing on Thursday, but the request was denied.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas found guilty of receiving Al Qaeda funding ABC News Online Sunday, February 26, 2006. 2:57pm (AEDT) A Victorian man has been found guilty of receiving funds from a terrorist group.
