Haider’s deputy reveals gay affair<\/a> Conservative Austria was in a state of shock today after the male successor to J\u00f6rg Haider admitted to having a longstanding \u201cspecial relationship\u201d with the far right leader who died dramatically in a high speed car crash earlier this month.<\/p>\n Stefan Petzner \u2013 the 27-year-old who recently replaced Haider as leader of the right wing Alliance for the Future of Austria and has often appeared in tears on television since his death – effectively outed himself as the deceased\u2019s gay lover while being interviewed on an Austrian radio breakfast show…<\/p>\n Hosi, or Homosexual Initiative, the biggest gay pressure group in Austria, said<\/a>: “We’ve known about Haider’s homosexuality for about 10 years. On the one hand we think it’s positive that the rumours are no longer capable of ruining a political career, on the other hand an earlier outing of Haider would have been justified.”<\/p>\n
