And not only did the BNP fail to gain any Parliamentary seats, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/uk_news\/politics\/election_2010\/england\/8668885.stm\">BNP loses all 12 seats in Barking and Dagenham council<\/a>. (<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/nol\/shared\/election2010\/council\/html\/region_99999.stm\">Overall<\/a>, the BNP lost 22 councillors.) This is a very poor result for the BNP, but one which will presumably have to be measured against the fact that, overall, the party gained almost 600,000 votes in the general election.<\/ul>\n<p>The neo-Nazi National Front fielded 17 candidates in the <a href=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=16518\">British general election<\/a>. Their best result was in Rochdale, where Chris Jackson got 4.9%.<\/p>\n<ul><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/a32.stm\">Birmingham Erdington<\/a>: Terry Williams: 229 votes, 0.6% (Kevin McHugh\/BNP: 1,815 votes, 5.1%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/a39.stm\">Birmingham Yardley<\/a>: Paul Morris: 349 votes, 0.9% (Tanya Lumby\/BNP, 2,153 votes, 5.3%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/a58.stm\">Bradford East<\/a>: Gerry Robinson: 222 votes, 0.5% (Neville Poynton\/BNP, 1,854 votes, 4.6%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/b43.stm\">Dudley North<\/a>: Kevin Inman: 173 votes, 0.4% (Ken Griffiths\/BNP: 1,899 votes, 4.9%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/b72.stm\">Faversham &#038; Mid Kent<\/a>: Graham Kemp: 542 votes, 1.2%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/c10.stm\">Hayes &#038; Harlington<\/a>: Andy Cripps: 566 votes, 1.3% (Chris Forster\/BNP: 1,520 votes, 3.6%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/c44.stm\">Hull East<\/a>: Joe Uttley: 880 votes, 2.6%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/c39.stm\">Keighley<\/a>: Steve Smith: 135 votes, 0.3% (Andrew Brons\/BNP: 1,962 votes, 4.1%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/c77.stm\">Maidstone &#038; The Weald<\/a>: Gary Butler: 643 votes, 1.3%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/w23.stm\">Montgomeryshire<\/a>: Milton Ellis: 384 votes, 1.1%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/d71.stm\">Rochdale<\/a>: Chris Jackson: 2,236 votes, 4.9%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/d76.stm\">Rossendale &#038; Darwen<\/a>: Kevin Bryan: 1,062 votes, 2.3%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/d80.stm\">Ruislip, Northwood &#038; Pinner<\/a>: Ian Edward: 899 votes, 1.8%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/e72.stm\">Tonbridge &#038; Malling<\/a>: Mike Easter: 505 votes, 1.0%<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/d27.stm\">Tyneside North<\/a>: Bob Batten: 599 votes, 1.3% (John Burrows\/BNP: 1,860 votes, 4.0%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/e82.stm\">Uxbridge &#038; South Ruislip<\/a>: Frank McAllister: 271 votes, 0.6% (Dianne Neal\/BNP: 1,396 votes, 3.1%)<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/f08.stm\">West Ham<\/a>: Michael Davidson: 1,089 votes, 2.3%<\/ul>\n<p>The howwible multi-culturalists @ the HOPE not hate blog are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopenothate.org.uk\/blog\/article\/751\/We%E2%80%99ve-done-it\">happy<\/a> that &#8220;the BNP has been humiliated in <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/a11.stm\">Barking &#038; Dagenham<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/e47.stm\">Stoke-on-Trent<\/a>&#8220;. In Barking &#038; Dagenham, Nick Gri\u00a3\u00a3in received 6,620 votes, or just 14.6%, a loss of 1.7% on 2005. In Stoke-on-Trent Central, Simon Darby received 2,502 votes, or 7.7%, a gain of 0.1% on 2005.
