Leaving just&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>The Usual Suspects<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Commies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There were two socialists standing for Parliament on March 21: Mike Crook in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district72.html\">Sandgate<\/a> and Sam Watson in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district73.html\">South Brisbane<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mike Crook in Sandgate<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mike received 359 (1.33%) votes, coming last of six candidates. Um&#8230; so yeah.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sam Watson in South Brisbane<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of the most prominent Murri campaigners in Brisbane&#8221;, Sam got 306 (1.42%) of votes, placing fifth. (There were nine candidates in total, with the three voted <em>Most Popular Vocal Performer<\/em> south of Brisbane between them sharing nine of every ten votes.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ein volk&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rosa Lee Long is an archaism: the last gasp of the One Nation Party. &#8220;I have no other duties other than giving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district27.html\">Dalrymple<\/a> the best representation possible&#8221; said Rosa, which if true suggests that she needs a new hobby. Still, with around 7,000 votes (1\/3), Rosa will obviously have many supporters with suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district23.html\">Condamine<\/a>, Rod Watson <em>thrashed<\/em> the Independent Stephanie Bugg, 703 votes to 257, and proved to be only slightly less popular than The Greens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;ein Reich&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peregrine John Beverley Jewell failed to place his sweaty hands on the levers of Government power again in 2009. Peregrine tested his popularity at the polls in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district82.html\">Toowoomba North<\/a> and gained 438 votes (1.75%) for his trouble, 98.25% of the people apparently failing to realise the peril they are facing in the New World Order liberal-globalist-capitalist conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecq.qld.gov.au\/elections\/state\/state2009\/results\/district36.html\">Hervey Bay<\/a>, Peter Schuback proved once again that the road to Parliament is a long one for Independents, gaining 1,086 votes (4.97%), a slight drop in popularity since he last tilted at the political windmill.<\/p>\n<p>As noted <a href=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=1744\">previously<\/a>, this is not Peter\u2019s first crack at a seat in Parliament. In 1998, Schuback got 1107 votes \u2014 outpolling the LaRouchite candidate (and thereby avoiding last place). In 2001, Peter put forward his platform in the Rockhampton electorate as a candidate for the short-lived City Country Alliance. In a three-horse race, Peter again came last, winning a respectable 2,056 votes (8.9%). (In the 2001 Federal election, Peter stood as an Independent in the seat of Capricornia. For his troubles, he received 512 votes, or 0.7%.) In 2006, again contesting Hervey Bay, he gained 1,607 votes (5.82%), coming last of five candidates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nein F\u00fchrer?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally, The Wicked Witch from Ipswich may have blown her last chance at gaining a Government job.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ms Hanson&#8217;s candidacy in Beaudesert, south of Brisbane, attracted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theaustralian.news.com.au\/story\/0,25197,25226509-5013871,00.html\">national media attention<\/a> but not enough voters. She secured 22 per cent of the vote to run third behind Labor and the Liberal National Party winner Aiden McLindon&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sexparty.org.au\/images\/stories\/media-2009\/pauline-lookalike1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The One Nation founder blamed the media for her loss, referring to the publication of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexparty.org.au\/index.php\/press-releases\/145-sex-party-finds-possible-source-of-hanson-lookalike-photos\">raunchy photographs<\/a> of a young woman erroneously claimed to be her in the mid-1970s by News Limited Sunday newspapers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><em>Bonus!<\/em> Long Dong Silver<\/h2>\n<p><object width=\"445\" height=\"364\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/loPFzWW51Sk&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0&#038;color1=0xcc2550&#038;color2=0xe87a9f&#038;border=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After tearfully waving goodbye to Warwick, there were very few reasons to take an interest in the Queensland state election.
