But ha! I was there [thanks Eleven!]. Anyway, the film&#8217;s great &#8212; it even features an Iraqi rock band called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2003\/05\/27\/DD233050.DTL\">Black Scorpion<\/a> and some <a href=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.blogspot.com\/2006\/03\/message-from-iron-sheik.html\">Palestinian hip-hoppers<\/a>! Oh, and Franti&#8217;s performance was also&#8230; great.<\/p>\n<p>Go see it!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This film came out of my frustration with watching the nightly news and hearing generals, politicians and pundits, explaining the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/story\/30487\/\">political<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.corpwatch.org\/article.php?list=type&#038;type=176\">economic<\/a> cost of the war in the Middle East, without ever mentioning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iraqbodycount.net\/\">the human cost<\/a>. I wanted to hear about the war by the people affected by it most: doctors, nurses, poets, artists, soldiers and my personal favorite, musicians. So I bought some plane tickets and headed to Iraq, Israel and the occupied territories of Palestine.
