{"id":18685,"date":"2010-07-30T01:13:57","date_gmt":"2010-07-29T15:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=18685"},"modified":"2010-08-03T00:22:00","modified_gmt":"2010-08-02T14:22:00","slug":"2010-australian-federal-election-miscellaneous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=18685","title":{"rendered":"2010 Australian Federal Election (Miscellaneous)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mentalfloss.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/guy%20fawkes.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Coalition Greens Labor Coalition Labor Greens Greens Labor Coalition Greens Coalition Labor Labor Coalition Greens Labor Greens Coalition&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>But!<\/h2>\n<p>Have you considered&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Champions of the &#8216;free market&#8217;, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ldp.org.au\"><strong>Liberal Democratic Party<\/strong><\/a> are determined to show those faceless bureaucrats in Canberra who&#8217;s boss (and to put <em>Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish<\/em>); the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.org.au\/\"><strong>Democrats<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; much to everybody else&#8217;s surprise &#8212; are still cranking (<em>Campaign Details Coming Soon!<\/em>), while the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fishingandlifestyle.com\"><strong>Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party<\/strong><\/a> (&#8220;real people with real solutions and the courage to stand up for what is right&#8221;), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexparty.org.au\/\"><strong>Australian Sex Party<\/strong><\/a> (&#8220;a political response to the sexual needs of Australia in the 21st century&#8221;) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shootersandfishers.org.au\"><strong>Shooters and Fishers Party<\/strong><\/a> will be representing the interests and obtaining the votes of thousands of fishers, shooters, lifestylists and rooters.<\/p>\n<p>Presumably.<\/p>\n<p>In summary, Seranna Shutt will be sexing it up in NT, in SA Ari Reid and Jason Virgo are aspiring Sex senators, while Austen Tayshus (<em>aka<\/em> Alexander Gutman) is running in Warringah against The Mad Monk.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Non-Custodial Parents Party (Equal Parenting)<\/strong> will be fielding <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncpp.xisle.info\/candidates.htm\">candidates<\/a> for both the NSW Senate and the House of Reps in NSW <em>and<\/em> Victoria.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/senatoronline.org.au\/\"><strong>Senator Online<\/strong><\/a> is either the rather forlorn face of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.egov.vic.gov.au\/trends-and-issues\/e-democracy.html\">e-democracy<\/a> in the early twenty-first century, or the bastard child of a mad, amateur, political scientist &#8212; one whose creation is sure to turn against its master and destroy his house <em>cum<\/em> laboratory in a cybernetic fit of rage!<\/p>\n<p>Maybe.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime: Senator Online candidate <em>Wes Bas<\/em> volunteers with a number of charities in his spare time; having grown up on Sydney\u2019s northern beaches, <em>Brianna Roach<\/em> is proudly Australian and is keen to contribute to society. In Victoria, <em>Glenn Sargent<\/em> is a passionate Australian. One of the things he&#8217;s passionate about is the Greens. Namely, keeping them out of the Senate; perhaps by way of installing sensible people like him instead. &#8220;Recent Australian News Poll puts the Green Vote at 15%, up from 7.8% at the last election. This could be an extremely dangerous development for Australian Politics and all who live in the land.&#8221; In Queensland, <em>Scott Reading<\/em> has the drive and determination to get the job done.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Never has the barrier for entry into the marketplace of ideas been so low&#8230;&#8221; Seemingly the brainchild of David Stockwell, the <a href=\"http:\/\/landshape.org\/news\/\"><strong>Climate Sceptics Party<\/strong><\/a> is &#8220;The world&#8217;s first political party representing scepticism and objectivity in climate policy&#8221;. Currently, the party has one candidate: Party President <a href=\"http:\/\/landshape.org\/news\/leon-ashby.html\">Leon Ashby<\/a> is running for the Senate in SA. Ashby is a founding member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/aefweb.info\/\">Australian Environment Foundation<\/a>, to which Liberal Senator Cory <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theage.com.au\/national\/call-to-turn-on-the-lights-20100324-qwr7.html\">&#8216;Turn your lights on!&#8217;<\/a> Bernardi will be making a valuable contribution in October 2010 at their annual conference.<\/p>\n<p>Variations on the Christian right may be found among the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdp.org.au\/\"><strong>Christian Democratic Party<\/strong><\/a> (Fred Nihilist), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dlp.org.au\/\"><strong>Democratic Labor Party<\/strong><\/a> (Catholic) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.familyfirst.org.au\/\"><strong>Family First<\/strong><\/a> (Assemblies of God). The CDP is fielding 26 candidates, the DLP Senatorial candidates in every state and territory, while <strike>Australia First<\/strike> <strike>Earth First!<\/strike> Family First is attempting to put God back into politics just about everywhere: in NSW (presumably) <a href=\"http:\/\/wendy4senate.com\/meet-the-candidates\/\">QLD<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sa-familyfirst.org.au\/candidates.htm\">SA<\/a>, in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vic.familyfirst.org.au\/candidates.php\">VIC<\/a> (presumably) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wafamilyfirst.com\/candidates.html\">WA<\/a> &#8212; except maybe TAS. And ACT. (And NT.)<\/p>\n<p>Family First (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.search.asic.gov.au\/cgi-bin\/gns030c?acn=106048444\">a limited liability company<\/a>) is almost certain to lose its only Federal rep in <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/fakefielding\">Steve Fielding<\/a> &#8212; the Victorian ALP&#8217;s gift to the Australian public has a use by date of 2010.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Amendment (Prohibition of Display and Sale of Bongs) Bill 2010.
