{"id":20511,"date":"2010-09-16T11:42:06","date_gmt":"2010-09-16T01:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=20511"},"modified":"2010-09-17T13:19:37","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T03:19:37","slug":"ice-cream-nun-image-sparks-outrage-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=20511","title":{"rendered":"Ice cream nun image sparks outrage&#8230; Again."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An old story has got new legs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4106\/4994811500_0d940579a8_z.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/asa.org.uk\/Complaints-and-ASA-action\/Adjudications\/2009\/7\/Antonio-Federici\/TF_ADJ_46491.aspx\">July 1, 2009<\/a>, the British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) upheld a complaint from 10 concerned citizens regarding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>An ad, which appeared in <em>Delicious Magazine<\/em> and <em>Sainsbury\u2019s Magazine<\/em>, for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antoniofederici.com\/\">Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano<\/a> ice cream, [and] showed a priest and a nun looking as if they were about to kiss. The nun was in full habit and the priest was wearing rosary beads around his neck and holding a pot of ice cream in his hand. Text stated &#8220;KISS TEMPTATION&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Over twelve months later (<a href=\"http:\/\/asa.org.uk\/Complaints-and-ASA-action\/Adjudications\/2010\/9\/Antonio-Federici\/TF_ADJ_49041.aspx\">September 15, 2010<\/a>), Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano ice cream done it again, with a similar complaint also being upheld by the ASA:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A magazine ad for Antonio Federici ice cream showed a heavily pregnant woman dressed as a nun standing in a church holding a tub of ice cream in one hand and a spoon in the other. Text stated &#8220;Immaculately Conceived &#8230; ICE CREAM IS OUR RELIGION&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4085\/4994816582_b2ef18590f.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mad props to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contrastcreative.co.uk\/2010\/08\/25\/antonio-federici-3\/\">Contrast Creative<\/a> for the double whammy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An old story has got new legs.
