Clifford Harper<\/a>, Anarchy: A Graphic Guide<\/em><\/p>\n Speaking of anarchy, it’ll be anarchy on the streets come Saturday December 3rd…<\/p>\n F the system; reclaim the streets!<\/strong><\/p>\n Why reclaim the streets?<\/em><\/p>\n We’re a collective of activists, students and concerned citizens in Melbourne and we came together to organise a ‘reclaim the streets’. The reason for this was a shared feeling that we want get out there as a movement again. We want to show ourselves to the public and our message is simple: “another world is possible!” To do this we will reclaim our public space and turn the streets into a free zone where people can express themselves… the way they feel. We believe that a city should not be owned by corporations and cars, but by the people.<\/p>\n ‘Diversity’ is a keyword in this movement and several activist groups and individuals will participate in this parade. We will educate the public about several issues that appear on the activist-agenda by handing out flyers, exposing banners and inviting guest speakers. A second aim is to have fun! Sound systems, (acoustic) bands, decorations, street theatre, cyclists and other creative actions will support the parade to turn this day into a day people won’t forget easily (in a positive way). Within this [lies] another message: activism can be fun!
