{"id":33847,"date":"2013-04-22T01:50:27","date_gmt":"2013-04-21T15:50:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=33847"},"modified":"2013-05-06T02:11:10","modified_gmt":"2013-05-05T16:11:10","slug":"may-day-in-melbourne-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=33847","title":{"rendered":"May Day in Melbourne 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>May Day this year falls on a Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>At 11.30am the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anarchistmedia.org\" target=\"_blank\">Wednesday Action Group<\/a> will be meeting outside Her Majesty&#8217;s Theatre, 219 Exhibition Street (once home to the Melbourne Anarchist Club in the 1880s).<\/p>\n<p>At midday there will be a gathering of anarchists and others at the 8 Hour Monument (cnr Victoria and Russell Streets) and another (organised by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aawl.org.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Australia Asia Worker Links<\/a>) at 5.30pm at the State Library (328 Swanston Street).<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday May 5 from 1pm the Victorian Trades Hall Council (by way of the <a href=\"http:\/\/maydayvic.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Melbourne May Day Committee<\/a>) is holding a rally and march. (The Committee is organising several other events as well: check their blog for more details.) The Socialist Alliance has also organised a breakfast.
