UPDATE (February 3)<\/strong> : Dandenong factory workers claim ‘significant win’ after four-day lunchroom protest<\/a>, Nick Toscano, The Age<\/em>, January 30, 2015 | In the factory and in the street, Labor [\/labour] is learning again that there is power in a union<\/a>, Van Badham, The Guardian<\/em>, February 3, 2014.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, January 31 there’s a solidarity BBQ\/picnic\/rally<\/a> at \u202a#\u200eIFF\u202c (International Flavors & Fragrances) in Dandenong (310 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Dandenong South) from noon to 4pm.<\/p>\n

\u202a#\u200eOccupyDandenong<\/a>\u202c workers have been occupying the site since Tuesday morning — over three days now — following an attempted lockout by #IFF management.<\/p>\n

Workers are demanding that they (and all other workers):<\/p>\n

\u2022 receive a fair wage;
\n\u2022 do not have their working conditions degraded;
\n\u2022 be treated with respect;
\n\u2022 have the right to organise;
\n\u2022 enjoy job security;
\n\u2022 get their fair share of social goods;
\n\u2022 are free to express themselves;
\n\u2022 are able to express solidarity with other workers +;
\n\u2022 work without employer intimidation.<\/p>\n

#IFF management reckon these minimal demands are excessive — at the same time, #IFF annual profit increased 28.24% to $354 million last reporting period + management are demanding Australian workers take a pay cut + endure worse conditions.<\/p>\n
