{"id":41590,"date":"2017-07-14T20:23:36","date_gmt":"2017-07-14T10:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=41590"},"modified":"2017-07-15T19:16:30","modified_gmt":"2017-07-15T09:16:30","slug":"rowan-dean-the-spectator-anti-semitism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=41590","title":{"rendered":"Rowan Dean, The Spectator, &#038; anti-Semitism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh noes!<\/p>\n<p>For reasons which remain unclear, Rowan Dean &#8212; world-renowned satirist, former ad-man, and current editor of The Spectator (Down Under) &#8212; has pulled two articles by Some Guy called &#8216;Moses Apostaticus&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/m1-e1500026655430.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/m1-e1500026655430.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"407\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41606\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The decision to pull the articles &#8212; &#8216;The Democratic Socialist People\u2019s Republic of Australia&#8217; (July 6, 2017) and &#8216;How cultural Marxism created the Alt-Right&#8217; (July 12, 2017) &#8212; happened just a day or so after Jeff Sparrow published <a href=\"https:\/\/overland.org.au\/2017\/07\/dr-goebbels-mastheads-on-antisemitism-and-news-corp\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Dr Goebbels\u2019 mastheads\u2019: on antisemitism and News Corp<\/a> (Overland, July 13, 2017), and after Richard Cooke <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rgcooke\/status\/884917935839379457\" target=\"_blank\">drew attention<\/a> to some of the nazi geek&#8217;s other online writings.<\/p>\n<p>While Rowan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebrityspeakers.com.au\/rowan-dean\/\" target=\"_blank\">may be<\/a> <em>one of the most respected and most creative figures in Australian advertising circles<\/em>, responsible for helping to sell <em>best-known brands including Nurofen, Mortein, Harpic, Finish and Dettol<\/em>, he&#8217;s also allegedly <em>a keen observer and critic of the ever-merging worlds of PR gimmickry, political dishonesty and manipulative &#8216;spin&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/raFs7Ghf_Dc\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Which begs the question: why decide to publish, then unpublish, such a brilliant man as Moses? One with lots of well thought-out, practical ideas, who is ensuring the financial security of The Spectator for years to come?<\/p>\n<p>In any event, maintaining the paper-thin barrier between the usual batshit published by The Spectator &#038; Co, on the one hand, and the unabashedly anti-Semitic and frequently neo-Nazi tripe published by aspiring AltRight bloggers and podcasters, on the other, is no easy feat: mostly, it&#8217;s accomplished by way of substituting the national flag for the Nazi one and, say, &#8216;cultural Marxism&#8217; for &#8216;Jewish conspiracy&#8217;. Providing these basic rules are followed, it&#8217;s perfectly acceptable for anti-Semitic cranks to find a corner of the reactionary press in which to appear, and with a *nudge nudge, wink wink* to their audience, communicate precisely what they think. Indeed, play your cards right, and the national broadcaster will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.righttoknow.org.au\/request\/decision_to_invite_blair_cottrel\" target=\"_blank\">grant you<\/a> an hour of prime time in which to promote yourself (albeit on delay).<\/p>\n<p>As for Moses, you can continue to enjoy his writings on <a href=\"http:\/\/heavy.com\/news\/2017\/01\/tucker-carlson-net-worth-salary-fox-news-bio-donald-trump-ratings-home-money\/\" target=\"_blank\">millionaire<\/a> blabbermouth Tucker Carlson&#8217;s The Daily Caller website, and look forward in anticipation to the completion of his PhD thesis. You can also listen to him yap on <a href=\"http:\/\/slackbastard.anarchobase.com\/?p=41527\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;The Dingoes&#8217; podcast<\/a>, along with his XYZ <em>kameraden<\/em> Ryan Fletcher and Adam Piggott, MP George Christensen, former MP Mark Latham, racist Canuckistanian (and former academic) Drew Fraser and <a href=\"https:\/\/angrywhitemen.org\/category\/people\/greg-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Johnson<\/a> of publisher Counter-Currents. Gregory Lauder-Frost of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.searchlightmagazine.com\/tag\/traditional-britain-group\/\" target=\"_blank\">Traditional Britain Group<\/a> has also been a guest of The Dingoes, and his &#8216;exposure&#8217; as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/politics\/gregory-lauder-frost-exposed-the-tory-fringe-group-leader-with-nazi-sympathies-8755093.html\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Tory fringe group leader with Nazi sympathies&#8217;<\/a> rather closely resembles the comic habit of local Tories accidentally-stumbling-into-fascist-meetings, most recently when MP Craig Kelly wished a &#8216;Happy Birthday!&#8217; (on behalf of former PM Tony Abbott) to the pro-Nazi Usta\u0161e government of the 1940s.<\/p>\n<p>Presumably, Rowan Dean is unlikely to publish a piece celebrating the destruction of &#8216;cultural Marxism&#8217; at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ushmm.org\/wlc\/en\/article.php?ModuleId=10005449\" target=\"_blank\">Jasenovac<\/a>, but if he did, I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if the facts of its removal &#8212; like so much else &#8212; simply disappeared down The Memory Hole.<\/p>\n<p><em>See also<\/em> : <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politicalresearch.org\/2017\/01\/20\/ctrl-alt-delete-report-on-the-alternative-right\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ctrl-Alt-Delete: The origins and ideology of the Alternative Right<\/a>, Matthew N.
