Torres<\/a> [Bluesky<\/a>]. \u00c9mile is an author (most recently of the book Human Extinction: A History of the Science and Ethics of Annihilation<\/a><\/em>), podcaster (Dystopia Now<\/a>) and critic of the bundle of ideologies collectively known as TESCREAL: Transhumanism, Extropianism, Singularitarianism, Cosmism, Rationalism, Effective Altruism and Longtermism.<\/p>\n

We first spoke to \u00c9mile about TESCREAL in October 2023. A few years later, we reviewed the situation in 2026 and discussed the rollout of AI (‘It must nestle everywhere, settle everywhere, establish connexions everywhere’!), AGI, ASI and the speculative fictions<\/a> of Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n
