Torture suspects linked to neo-nazis

RYE \u2014 A watchdog group that monitors the activity of white supremacist organizations confirmed that at least two of the men indicted on charges of torturing and decapitating a rabbit are actively involved in one or more of the groups. Robert Freeman, 36… Kevin Lynch, 26… and William West, 32… were indicted on felony charges of cruelty to an animal. On Aug. 10, Rye police were called to a Massachussets law enforcement meeting, where they learned the torture had been posted to the Internet site YouTube. An investigation led police to the three men. Research done by the Herald<\/em> indicated that at least two of the men might have ties to neo-Nazi and white supremacist organizations. On Thursday, Anthony Griggs, a research analyst for the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., confirmed ties for both Freeman and West. He said he didn’t find anything on Lynch. “Robert Freeman is involved with the National Alliance, the biggest neo-Nazi group in the country,” said Griggs. “He’s also a longtime member of The Creativity Movement.” West was the leader of the defunct Boston branch of Volksfront, German for “People’s Front.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
