This week on Yeah Nah Pasaran! we talk to Dr. Émile P. Torres [Bluesky]. Émile is an author (most recently of the book Human Extinction: A History of the Science and Ethics of Annihilation), podcaster (Dystopia Now) and critic of the bundle of ideologies collectively known as TESCREAL: Transhumanism, Extropianism, Singularitarianism, Cosmism, Rationalism, Effective Altruism and Longtermism.
We first spoke to Émile about TESCREAL in October 2023. A few years later, we reviewed the situation in 2026 and discussed the rollout of AI (‘It must nestle everywhere, settle everywhere, establish connexions everywhere’!), AGI, ASI and the speculative fictions of Silicon Valley.
