Michael Blamey has a blog and on it he’s uploaded some really great photos of Melbourne… although I believe many would benefit from the sub-title ‘soon to be picturesque ruins’. (Or is that just me?) Michael notes that “Because of Pissarro’s anarchist politics, the exhibition has also stimulated some blogger analysis in Australia”. Judging from the photo, the soiree appears to have been a rather sedate affair. And personally, I think this mob had the right idea:

The martini fete at Milwaukee Art Museum ended with drunk guests passing out, throwing up and clambering over artworks.
One reveller, Kathleen Christians, 39, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: “It was crazy. People were shoving people over. People were getting sick, screaming, shouting, messing with the artwork.”
Four young men climbed onto Standing Woman, a tall, bronze sculpture of a goddess-like woman by early 20th-century American artist Gaston Lachaise.
