antifa notes (december 7, 2019) : failed satirist Phillip Galea guilty of terrorisms

Law & Order

Phil

On December 5, Phillip Galea was found guilty by a Victorian Supreme Court jury of carrying out acts in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act, as well as attempting to make a document to facilitate a terrorist act, and will return to court for sentencing early next year.

tl;dr : Un-lucky Phil’s career as a stand-up comic was very short-lived.

See : Right-wing extremist found guilty of plotting attacks on Melbourne ‘left’ centres (SBS) | Melbourne far-right terror plotter Phillip Galea found guilty by jury (news dot com dot au) | Phillip Galea found guilty of plotting terrorist attacks on Melbourne ‘leftist’ centres (ABC) | Far-right Australian convicted of plotting terror attacks (The National) | Galea’s conviction is welcome but not enough (Green Left Weekly).

In which context:

• While Galea’s relationship to Reclaim Australia has been underlined in reportage on the guilty verdict, he had a range of associations over a much longer period of time. Thus in April 2010 Galea attended a farcical anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant rally in Melbourne organised by the ‘Australian Defence League’, and while Galea attended protest rallies organised under the banner of RA (along with admining an RA Facebook page), the United Patriots Front and the True Blue Crew, he also helped establish the RA Media website and ‘RA media newsgroupe’ Facebook page.

• Galea’s defence lawyer Felicity Gerry gamely argued that, rather than do terrorisms, Philthy was merely ‘recruiting investigators and editors, not terrorists’. This line was also adopted by right-wing l00n Mike Holt, one of Galea’s very few patriotik defenders, who in February reckoned his comrade was merely a ‘scientist and information gatherer’. LOL.

• Reference is also made to the fact that when arson and explosive experts raided Galea’s home in November 2015 they seized five cattle prods and 362.1 grams of mercury. Unmentioned is the fact that the cattle prods were apparently provided to Galea by UPF flunkey John ‘Farma’ Wilkinson, who remains active on the far right.

Max

Fascist teenybopper Max Towns had much better luck in court this week than did poor olde Phil.

Max Towns has charges dropped due to mental health
Perry Duffin
The Daily Telegraph
December 2, 2019

The far-right teenager who attacked two journalists at a Fraser Anning press conference has had his charges dismissed because he has anxiety, gambling problems and depression.

His mental health is so poor, a court heard, that his mum had to take him to the Fraser Anning event where the incident occurred.

Max Towns was 18 when he allegedly made obscene comments to Eliza Barr at the press conference in Cronulla in April.

According to police facts, Towns then attacked photographer Dylan Robinson who had intervened and taken pictures of the private school boy after hearing the slurs.

“The video clip shows the accused as the aggressor ripping the shirt of Robinson and punching out at Robinson,” the document released by the court reads.

Towns swiped at Mr Robinson’s camera, tore his shirt and struck his face before throwing punches that failed to connect with his target. The incident was captured on video.

He previously pleaded not guilty to offensive conduct, stalk or intimidate and assault.

Police bail documents state Towns is “an associate of a far right political group” and his “actions were unprovoked and against a member of the media in a political setting”.

The now-19-year-old’s barrister William Barber told Sutherland Local Court his client comes from a “respected family” in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

He had attended Waverley College on a rugby league scholarship but never went professional.

Magistrate Michael Love, reviewing footage of the attack, said Towns has been “aggressive the whole time”.

”He was moving into alleged victim as opposed to swiping and moving away,” he said.

“He’s a young man who had a troubled past,” Mr Barber said.

“He had learning difficulties and certainly a psychological condition.”

Mr Barber called the attack “out of character” and said Towns has no history of violence or criminal record but admitted he had previously stopped taking his prescribed medicine.

He also said his client is so anxious in social situations his mum had to take him to the event.

”He finds it difficult in social gatherings that’s why she went with him,” he said.

”He’s paranoid, frightened in those situations.“

Towns, in a letter tendered to the magistrate, said he does his best to avoid physical confrontation “to the point of not leaving the house for days straight”.

“During the car trip I had numerous thoughts about turning back as I predicted a hostile environment, having seen threats on Senator Anning’s Facebook page regarding his meeting in Cronulla,” his letter reads.

Mr Barber also noted Towns’ gambling problems and said the media attention had been difficult on his mental health.

”There’s been a lot of publicity, it’s put enormous strain on the family – the Prime Minister commented on it,” he said.

“It’s a very unusual situation.”

Ultimately the magistrate dismissed the charges and ordered Towns to follow reasonable instructions of his psychiatrist and psychologist.

“If there is a repeat incident you may not get this opportunity again and you may face the full force of the law,” he warned Towns.

Towns spent the day chewing gum in the court waiting room and staring down The Daily Telegraph’s reporter before flashing the OK hand gesture.

His grandmother and mother shushed him as he called out “who do you work for?” as Mr Barber was approached for comment.

The barrister politely declined but noted he was “very happy” with the outcome.

Towns exited court into his grandmother’s car with a jacket covering his face.

He later said Towns had his own personal troubles but was a “good kid” and noted they dispute the police version of events.

tl;dr : ‘It’s Not OK To Punch Nazis, But It Is OK For Rich Kids To Punch Reporters.’

Blair

Max was one of a dozen or so brave ANZACs to join Blair Cottrell in chasing Dandyman outta Fed Square in June last year after Galea’s fave racist gang the True Blue Crew held its flagwit parade. The failed fuehrer from Frankston, described by the Christchurch terrorist as his ‘Emperor’, Cottrell awaits a verdict in his appeal against his September 2017 conviction for inciting hatred for Muslims, but otherwise appears to be enjoying life, having swapped his tomahawk for a hammer.

RaHoWa 2019

A few weeks ago, the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) published its annual report on anti-Semitism in Australia. The report features a number of The Usual Suspects, many of whom would appear to rejoice in their recognition. Among those popping the champagne corks is the Facebook page ‘Make Australia Grouse Again’ (https://facebook.com/makeaustraliagrouseagain5). On Gab, the same page provides a handy summary of a number of groups and individuals named in the report, about which I provide a few more details below:

1) ‘Blair C’ = semi-pro neo-Nazi Blair Cottrell: inspiration to Brenton Tarrant, ‘mates’ with Adam Giles (the former Chief Minister of the Northern Territory (2013–2016) as well as the former leader of the Country Liberal Party (CLP)), currently appealing a criminal conviction for vilification, previously guilty of stalking his ex-girlfriend and her partner (armed with a tomahawk), arson, stalking and other offences.

2) David Hilton, once known as ‘Moses Apostaticus’, has contributed many essays to Tucker Carlson’s propaganda outlet ‘The Daily Caller’, and was invited by Rowan Dean of The Spectator (Australia) to contribute his sterling prose.

3) ‘Dean A’ = ‘Dean Anderson’, one of thousands of racist froot loops on Gab (AKA ‘Twitter for nazis’). ‘Dean A’ lives in Melbourne, apparently — which fact I assume makes him vewy vewy angwy & upset.

4) ‘Deanna Favoloso’ & ‘Jamie Jae’ are two moar mouthy Gabby losers, who are also rather unfavourably disposed to Jewish folk.

5) ‘Matty Rose’ = Matthew Roebuck, a key contributor to AltRight website XYZ (founded by Brunswick music teach David Hiscox), and a former RMIT jernalism student. Both Facebook and YouTube are more than happy to host his anti-Semitic diatribes.

6) Raymond Foster is a rather cooked fellow from Queensland, who loves to have a yarn with the police who not infrequently knock on his front door. Otherwise, Raymond is very upset that in 2031 Whites will compose 50% of the Australian population, and wants to replace the current Queensland crop in the Senate with his own Good self. Good luck bro!

7) Rite-On Australia is a webshite and publishing projekt I haven’t bothered to look at in any detail, but: I’m sure it’s ace and; Neil Erikson popped up there at some point. Rite-On is a publication of ‘Sunshine Coast Safe Communities Inc’ and Ron Hutchins is its President.

8) Ryan Fletcher is an entertainingly batshit nazi who writes for XYZ and also composed From HEMP to Hitler, later voiced by the Crying Nazi Christopher Cantwell (Ryan is a YUGE fan). Often shitposting on Gab about killing Jews etc., he works in the aged-care sektor apparently.

9) Shermon ‘The Great Aussie Patriot’ Burgess has gone quiet in recent months, but is a textbook example of how very patriotik Volk can often go Full Nazi … in his case, possibly triggered by the Zionist lobby’s attempts to keep blueberries xpnsv.

10) Finally, XYZ. I wrote about the meatheads responsible for this particular brand of anti-Semitic shite some time ago and they’ve ramped up the anti-Semitism quite a lot since then, but nonetheless have the 100% support of Facebook and of course YouTube.

Speaking of Facebook, it’s been the subject of further scrutiny in The Grauniad, which exposes the fact that the corporate juggernaut has been willingly engaged in a terrifically batshit and mildly profitable propaganda campaign directed at Ordinary Mums & Dads™ by some Israeli losers. See : Inside the hate factory: how Facebook fuels far-right profit, Christopher Knaus, Michael McGowan, Nick Evershed, Oliver Holmes, December 6, 2019. Currently, there’s a federal government Senate inquiry into ‘the rampant spread of “fake news” fuelled by foreign actors on social media’, one which will undoubtedly result in harsh penalties for the corporations responsible for profiting from lies and hate.

LOL.

Radioaktivität

After a decade or so broadcasting as ‘Floating Anarchy’ on ‘The SUWA Show’ on Melbourne community radio station 3CR, Dr Cam and I have decided to return in 2020 in a slightly different, more regular (weekly) format, with a nü show called ‘Yeah Nah Pasaran’. More details to come …

PS.

• Scribe has recently published Jeff Sparrow’s essay on Fascists Among Us: online hate and the Christchurch massacre, ‘the first book since Christchurch to trace the massacre’s fascist roots and what it represents’. Jeff was nice enuff to gimme a guernsey in the Acknowledgements, and it’s recommended reading.

• A few days prior to the Galea verdict, the federal government announced its intention to spend lotsa filthy lucre on analysing and understanding cyber threats, including Reclaim Australia and ‘anarchist movement anTEEfa’.

Disrupt and deter
Herald Sun
Tamsin Rose
December 13, 2019

THE federal government is spending millions of dollars to combat cyber threats including emotional manipulation on Reddit, a site co-owned by Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian.

Threats of far-right group Reclaim Australia and anarchist movement Antifa will also be probed in the Defence-funded research projects.

Universities and institutes have been invited to bid for a raft of research projects, worth up to $4.5 million, aimed at tackling rising cybercrime and the challenges the internet and social media present.

One project, titled Modelling Cyber Polarisation and Radicalisation, seeks to understand and eventually predict extremist violence by monitoring social media.

“Little work has been conducted on the analysis of the content of cyber messaging within the Australian content to identify why people become violent,” the tender document reads. “Linguistic analysis of groups and many lone actors indicate they leak their intent in cyberspace prior to an attack.

“The long-term goal of this research is to develop a framework that takes in cultural aspects and identifies escalating violence in language of groups and individuals in cyberspace prior to and during the radicalisation stages of extremism.” Another brief identifies emotional manipulation through Reddit as of “growing concern” for governments internationally.

The long-term goal of the research is to understand how people use the site to control the way Australians think.

“Understanding and quantifying cyber emotional influence in online platforms can allow us to identify and disrupt potential attacks,” the document states. “This research looks at quantifying emotional contagion on Reddit.” The Morrison Government yesterday announced $88 million for a new Counter Foreign Interference Taskforce to “disrupt and deter” anyone working to undermine the national interest.

“Foreign interference comes from many, many different sources and it’s important that we have the capacity to deal with it,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison said. “It’s an evolving threat and it’s also been a building and evolving response.” Meantime, former South Australian senator, now lawyer, Nick Xenophon yesterday announced he had taken on Chinese-owned telecommunications giant Huawei Australia as a client.

The federal government blocked Huawei from rolling out Australia’s 5G network due to security concerns.

Iron March Leaks : Aussie Pride Edition (1)

[Update (November 16, 2019) : Perhaps inevitably, the exposure of the nazis on Iron March has triggered a backlash. First, the Proud Boys have been mobilising to report Twitter accounts which details the leaks, with some smol degree of success. (Seemingly, the Boys want to protecc the reputation of Proud Boy Joseph Evans, who posted on the site as ‘OvenEngineer’.) Secondly, billionaire meathead Jack Dorsey and Twitter have suspended the account of The Jewish Worker (@jewishworker), much preferring the public use the platform to familiarise themselves with Richard Spencer‘s antisemitism than the news & views of Jewish workers. Finally, ironmarch-web.now.sh is down but ironmarch.exposed is up.]

[Update (November 15, 2019) : One local forum user, ‘Neizbezhnost’, has been exposed as 25yo Territorian Steve Braddy. See : Inside the twisted world of a braggart Australian neo-Nazi, Mark Schliebs, The Australian, November 15, 2019.]

A few days ago, a digital pixie uploaded the contents of defunct neo-Nazi site Iron March (IM: 2011–2017).

See : Massive White Supremacist Message Board Leak: How to Access and Interpret the Data, Bellingcat Investigation Team, November 6, 2019 | Neo-Nazi forum Iron March exposed in massive data dump, Claire Goforth, The Daily Dot, November 7, 2019 | Leak from neo-Nazi site could identify hundreds of extremists worldwide, Jason Wilson, The Guardian, November 7, 2019 | Inside the Private Messages of Neo-Nazi Group Atomwaffen Division, Kelly Weill, The Daily Beast, November 8, 2019 | Members of violent white supremacist website exposed in massive data dump, Dan Goodin, arstechnica, November 8, 2019 | Neo-Nazi Web Forum Iron March Has SQL Database Dumped on the Internet Archive, Tom McKay, Gizmodo, November 8, 2019.

The dump is rather large, contains lots of intriguing details, and will take some time to sort through. Still: ‘At least three members of the U.S. military were registered users on the influential neo-Nazi forum Iron March, according to an analysis of an anonymous data dump from the site this week. And one of them, a Marine, was apparently using Iron March to try to recruit people for a fascist paramilitary group he wanted to launch in the U.S.’.

The database is accessible through various means, but The Jewish Worker has published it in a more-easily searchable format here and/or here. There’s also been discussion about some of the technical details inre communications on the site and the various alternatives (Discord, Skype, encrypted email services) its users sometimes employed, with one blogger asking: ‘How do right-wing extremists secure their communications? The recent Iron March data leak gives insight into how its members tried to communicate outside the message board’ (Communications Security on Iron March – An Intelligence Analysis, Key Findings, November 9, 2019).

Above : ‘Daddy Terror’ AKA Benjamin Noyles AKA Benjamin Raymond.

Curiously, one of the users cited in the keyfindings analysis, ‘Daddy Terror’ (AKA Benjamin Noyles AKA Benjamin Raymond, the founder of National Action), both ‘encourages people to act more sensibly so they don’t get themselves doxed by leftists’ and also claims (January 16, 2017) that, inre the exposure of US neo-Nazi activist Mike Enoch/Peinovich, ‘slackbastard is familiar to me as a grizzled australian antifa (maybe I am mistaken), the type of person you expect to be an internet antifascist, in his 40’s most likely and so I imagine there was a large team around him and he is probably getting money from somewhere’.

Note that, while a number of members of National Action have been jailed after having been found to be members of a proscribed terrorist organisation, ‘Daddy Terror’ Benjamin remains very much at-large. (On NA and its legal travails in the UK, see : ‘The Evolution of Extreme-Right Terrorism and Efforts to Counter it in the United Kingdom’, CTC Sentinel – Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, Vol.12, No.1, January 2019; ‘”Only bullets can stop us!” The banning of National Action in Britain’, Perspectives on Terrorism, Vol.12, No.6, December 2018).

The site, established by ‘Alexander Slavros’ AKA Alisher Mukhitdinov, gained some notoriety for helping give birth to Atomwaffen, though was also the launchpad for the Australian neo-Nazi groupuscule ‘Antipodean Resistance’ (AR). Indeed, just a few days prior to the leak, it was reported that: ‘Last year, a German offshoot of the U.S. neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen Division announced its existence to the world with a chilling video declaring “National Socialism is alive.” Now, it’s issuing death threats to left-wing German politicians’ (The German Branch of a U.S. Neo-Nazi Group Has a ‘Kill List’ of Left-Wing Politicians, Tim Hume, Vice, November 6, 2019), while in June Shane Burley and Alexander Reid Ross discussed how I was the target of alt-right death threats across the internet – here’s what happened next (The Independent, June 19, 2019).

As for the Australian contingent on IM, there were approximately 50+ users, most of whom left very interesting online trails. Some are known fascists: Lisa Beulah/Sandford AKA ‘Eva’ gets a guernsey, as does Matthew Grant AKA ‘Matty G08’ — Grant is the leader of the ‘Eureka Youth League’ (a tiny offshoot of the ‘Australia First Party’, but for yoof) — and even Shermon ‘The Great Aussie Patriot’ Burgess AKA ‘Aussie_Patriot’; others are more obscure. One example is ‘Sigurd79’ AKA Steven Pidgeon. Pidgeon appears to be Very Normie on his social media profiles — on Twitter he describes himself as a ‘Law and Business (HRM) Student – Aspiring Lawyer with a passion for law reform – Looking to leave the world a better place’ — but his postings and messages on IM suggest a rather more complex picture.

Further investigation will no doubt reveal more interesting facts about the Australian users of IM, but in the meantime it’s worth reiterating the site’s status as the birthplace of AR, and the critical role played by users ‘Xav’ and ‘kehlsteinhaus’. Based in Melbourne, the dynamic nazi duo provide some detail about themselves that’s likely to end in tears, but you can read background material elsewhere on the blog: Who are Antipodean Resistance? (August 2018 Update) /// Jacob Hersant : An Antipodean Resistance Lad (April 13, 2018) /// Who are Antipodean Resistance? (September 28, 2017).

Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party, Andrew Wilson, neo-Nazis, & the 2019 Australian federal election

Above (L to R) : Radomir Kobryn-Coletti, Morgan Munro, Andrew Wilson.

On Thursday, ABC’s ‘Background Briefing’ published several articles documenting the involvement of various far-right personalities in Senator Fraser Anning’s party and office, among them Andrew Wilson and Radomir Kobryn-Colleti.

    tl;dr : A number of key figures from a radical right-wing political and social network — previously implicated in the infiltration of the Young Nationals last year and the (ultimately-unsuccessful) attempt to seize control of the Humanist Society in NSW ten years ago — have been recruited into Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party (CNP), where they play a key role in the CNP’s 2019 Australian federal election campaign.

Of the young men involved in the CNP, as well as the networks which facilitated their passage, some further details may be found by way of thewhiterosesociety, but in the meantime:

Radomir Kobryn-Coletti is ‘a conscientious and highly talented individual who’s personal skills and diverse network make him stand out as one of Perth’s most attractive young entrepreneurs’. Or at least, that’s how he describes himself on his LinkedIn profile; others may beg to differ.
Morgan Munro is another ‘attractive young entrepreneur’ from Perth, who made his debut on AltRight website ‘The Unhinged’ on Hitler’s birthday in 2018, and has since become a regular contributor, with most of his content revolving around events in his new home of Melbourne.
Zack Newton has closed his Facebook account but remains open for fashy business.
Boston White is innocent.
Andrew Wilson is ‘a toxic leach on the face of Australian nationalism … who lives off character assassination’. Well, according to one critic, anyway (see below). According to neo-Nazi troll Nathan Sykes and the Australia First Party, Wilson is A Very Bad Egg who’s implicated in a range of dirty tricks against them, performed for the benefit of the Liberal Party in Sydney. He’s also a veteran agitator and was once, in the early 2000s, the lvl boss of the ‘Patriotic Youth League’, a failed attempt by AFP to establish a yoof wing. At this time, Wilson was also a member of the Australian franchise of now-defunct neo-Nazi grouplet Volksfront (VF dissolved in 2012/3 after one of its associates, Wade Michael Page, shot to death six people at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin, USA).

The fallout from the ABC’s reportage has to date been minimal, with the usual denials being issued and some minor online recomposition taking place. Thus when asked for commentary on the matter the Prime Minister Scott Morrison dismissed it as some kind of ‘conspiracy theory’, while Anning himself has declared that he knows nothing and besides, what his employees do in their leisure time is none of his concern. One minor casualty of the affair has been the boys’ Facebook page ‘Abhorrent Australian Memes Did Nothing Wrong’ (itself an alternate for an earlier page titled ‘Abhorrent Australian Memes’) which has now been unpublished. The reasons for this are unclear, though it may have something to do with the page publishing a photo taken in federal parliament of Greens MP Larissa Waters — an action which is apparently contrary to parliamentary regulations.

There are, of course, dozens of such pages, which routinely share the same or similar material, often in a coordinated fashion. One example from last week revolves around the false attribution of a quote about immigration to cricketer Shane Warne, which was posted to the Spiller brothers’ page ‘Future Now News’ (since deleted) and twice on conspiracist page ‘Agenda 21 Australia/COP 2030/Politics’ (where it remains). Note that ahead of the Australian federal election Facebook has declared that it’ll do nothing to stop the flood of lies and propaganda, which fact may play some marginal role in determining the outcome. Conservative Nationals Go To The Polls

On the same day as the Background Briefing report was published, in Townsville Senator Anning announced his Senatorial team in Queensland: Paul Taylor, Mark Absolon, Nancy Sandford and Brad Cameron. Previously, he’d introduced Perry Adrelius as the party’s candidate for Groom, Rod Smith for Wright, and Tim Dwyer and Peter Manuel for the Senate in South Australia.

Anning extended an invitation to the public to nominate themselves as candidates for his party by way of an email sent earlier in the month:

Hi all,

You are receiving this email because you have expressed an interest in standing for election as a candidate for Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party.

Our initial intention was to make first contact with each of you by phone within a few days (and members of our team have already spoken to a significant number of you), but the sheer volume of nominations has overwhelmed any possibility of that. At the moment we are a small team trying to coordinate a movement that has exploded into something much, much bigger than ourselves. And with the Federal Election having just been called there is not a lot of time to do it.

The close of nominations is midday on the 23rd of April, and we want to have nominations finalised a couple of days before then. This means we need to substantially accelerate the nomination process.

This email is therefore going to serve as what would ordinarily be the first step of our interview and vetting process. It will lay out bluntly and frankly what the expectations of our candidates are and allow you to decide if you want to continue in this process. The goal is to quickly weed out as many of the uncommitted, unprepared, and unsuitable as possible.

The first thing I want to do with this email is to make clear exactly what the commitments of being a candidate are. If you have not previously had any experience in politics, this might be intimidating.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT

Firstly, you will need to pay a nomination deposit of $2000 to get on the ballot paper … Then on top of that are the costs of the campaign. Campaign costs are variable depending on what you choose to invest in and how much you decide to spend, but don’t expect to be able to run a credible campaign with less than $5000.

You will be refunded your $2000 nomination deposit and campaign spending (up to $2.73 per vote won – approximately $2500-$3000 per percentage point in a lower house electorate) if you secure 4% or more of the vote at the election. However, you need to be able to put this money up out of pocket and potentially lose it all if things don’t go right for you. Even if you are successful enough to reclaim your expenses, you may need to wait for a significant period for your claim to be processed. If you don’t have the liquidity to dedicate these sorts of resources towards a campaign, it would be wise to take a step back.

ELIGIBILITY

When nominating you will need to complete this form [snip]. There are various reasons why you may not be constitutionally eligible for nomination. Dual citizenship is the obvious one, and if you have parents or grandparents from another country, you should provide evidence of why that does not make you a dual citizen.

Additionally working in a government job or having some sort of contract with the government may also disqualify you. So does being an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent or being under sentence for a crime punishable by 12 months imprisonment or more.

Go through the form linked above, and if you have any difficulties completing it in a way that confirms your constitutional eligibility to be elected, you should strongly consider withdrawing from the process.

POLICY

The objects of Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party are as follows:

i) the vision of Sir Henry Parkes of Australia as an English speaking, predominantly European Christian Commonwealth, as originally described in 1901 when Australia as a nation was founded;

ii) social cohesion by an immigration program that gives preference to those best able to integrate and assimilate;

iii) traditional family values, including recognising marriage as only the union of a man and a woman and the sanctity of human life at all ages, including both the unborn and the elderly;

iv) government through the democratic consent of the governed;

v) individual freedom, including unrestricted freedom of speech, association and belief;

vi) private enterprise;

vii) private property as an inviolable natural right;

viii) universal home-ownership as a national objective;

ix) Australian ownership of our infrastructure, manufacturing and agriculture;

x) widely distributed ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange through owner operated farms, small business and co-operatives;

xi) collective bargaining in agriculture and industry;

xii) orderly marketing of agricultural products;

xiii) the development of rural and regional infrastructure and the re-industrialisation of Australia;

xiv) an end to usury through the establishment of a not-for-profit government bank;

xv) the right to own firearms and use them in self-defence;

xvi) welfare as a safety net but restricted to citizens;

xvii) citizens initiated referenda and voluntary voting;

xviii) decentralisation of power and competitive federalism;

xix) a fair taxation system that encourages productivity and savings and rewards hard work;

xx) the restoration of Australia’s national sovereignty through repudiation of coercive international treaties and a foreign policy that puts Australia first;

xxi) a capable and well-resourced military and strong support for our veterans.

Please read all of the above points carefully. If you are not able to whole heartedly support each and every point in this platform, please withdraw yourself from this process. Contradicting the party platform in any way will be grounds for immediate disendorsement. The reason is we expect the media will exploit any difference of view between Fraser and a candidate – even a small difference. While we respect people having different views, Party candidates have to be solid.

VOLUNTEERS

Ideally you will have a strong network of friends and supporters you can rely on to help you in your campaign. We will help our network of supporters to make contact with the endorsed candidate in each electorate, but it will be incumbent on each candidate to run their own campaign, including coordinating volunteers.

The most labour-intensive job will be handing out how-to-vote cards. Follow this link and choose your electorate, then select “polling places” to see all the locations you will need volunteers to man on election day. It’s not uncommon for a single electorate to have around 50 polling places, and usually its better to have two supporters at each location.

It’s common for many parties to be unable to have volunteers at all polling locations. However, the more people you have doing it, the higher your vote will be.

We are hopeful that strong public support for Senator Anning will translate into an unusually strong “ground game”.

POTENTIAL CONTROVERSY

If you have issues in your life that may attract attention and criticism of Senator Anning and the party, you must proactively disclose them to us before being nominated. We are not afraid of criticism, but we need to know ahead of time what issues may arise. These issues may include:

– Past criminal or legal issues

– Controversial career paths

– Previous political associations

– Publicly expressed positions or actions that may conflict with the objects of Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party

– Inflammatory social media comments

– Anything else that could become an issue

It will be grounds for immediate disendorsement if an issue emerges during the campaign that you have not revealed to us ahead of time. If you are in any doubt, disclose it.

MEDIA

All media requests will need to be passed on to and approved by Senator Anning’s media advisor. We want you to get publicity, but we are also mindful of avoiding media traps.

If you are being interviewed and are asked a loaded question designed to have no good answer (as a classic example, “Have you stopped beating your wife?”), remember that the best way to respond is usually by challenging the premise of the question (e.g. “I never beat my wife in the first place”).

If you get truly flustered, simply state the party’s position and say it is up to the public to decide if that is what they want.

And most importantly, you must never qualify or retreat from the policy platform of Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party. The number one way for our enemies to undermine the credibility of the party is to get candidates to contradict Senator Anning in some way. It is essential that voters can trust that if they vote for the party they will get exactly what they are being promised. No matter how much pressure is put on you, you must never concede any point. Failure to adhere to the objects of the party will be grounds for immediate disendorsement.

Our intent is to give each candidate a mock interview where we pose the type of questions they may be asked by the media during the campaign to test their readiness to represent the party.

SENATE CANDIDATES

Currently, we have a great many candidates who have indicated interest in Senate positions. That is of course to be expected as Senate candidates are the ones most likely to be successful, but it is inevitable that a very large number of candidates will be rejected. On the other hand it’s a good problem to have as it means that we can afford to be very selective about who we choose for our Senate team.

If you are someone who has indicated interest in standing for the Senate, we would love it if you would consider standing in your local electorate instead. While we already have more than enough potential candidates to stand in every lower house seat, they are not evenly distributed and there are still some electorates which no candidate has nominated for.

On the other hand if you believe you are an unusually strong candidate, you may still wish to be considered for a lead Senate nomination.

THE NEXT STEPS

If after reading everything above you still want to represent Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party at the election, great! We really value your passion, your support, and your dedication.

Following that, expect to be contacted by phone for an interview …

Scores have applied to become candidates for the election, though only a handful have been officially confirmed as yet, and nominations will not officially close until April 23. Still, the Very Normal folks who’ve applied to or indicated an interest in contributing to Anning’s Final Solution range from ammosexuals to budding C&W stars, bureaucrats to lawyers, neo-Nazi thugs to racist tradies and Xtian fun-da-mentalist preachers. Most, in other words, are Ordinary Mums & Dads™, though a few are more familiar figures, drawn from the One Nation, Palmer United and Rise Up Australia parties, and some will be famous soon enough I expect.

Blogging 2018 : A Summary

Another year done gone, and another opportunity to review what the Hell I’ve been writing about.

Please note that, at this stage, I’m unsure if I’ll continue blogging in 2019 as — combined with having a social media presence on Facebook and Twitter (which have more-or-less completely destroyed the so-called ‘blogosphere’) — it’s extremely time-consuming, and completely unrewarding financially, making the whole thing rather unsustainable. So, I’m going to take a break in January, and think about ways I may be able to make it so. In the absence of financial support of some kind, chances are I’ll simply abandon the field to others, who can undertake their own research.

With that said …

January

January saw the release of Romper Stomper on Stan, in which I was virtually cast in the role of ‘the ideological ringmaster, McKew’, a University lecturer who functioned as the bRanes behind ‘Antifasc’, and who published his insights on a website named ‘The Slacker’s Guide To Fascists’.

LOL.

I reviewed the show in Romper Stomper Pulls On Its Boots Again (But Forgets To Thread Its Laces) (January 13, 2018).

tl;dr : Romper Stomper was entertaining, but rather silly.

Also in January, Channel 7 provided some free advertising for the anti-African street patrol members of the racist street-gang the ‘True Blue Crew’ had cooked up with members of the neo-Nazi groupuscule ‘The Lads Society’: #7SummerOfNazis : The True Blue Crew & Co. Go Hunting Blacks While Channel 7 Cheers (January 16, 2018).

The journalist responsible for the report, Jodi Lee, was given the opportunity to gain some greater insight into the nature of the milieu Channel 7 was promoting when, 10 months later, serial pest Neil Erikson attempted to sabotage her broadcast from the scene of Hassan Khalif Shire Ali’s awful crime, and he was later to remark that, given her obvious irritation, she may have secretly desired him to rape her.

At best, this remark was in very poor taste, but has added menace given that the leading members of both TBC and The Lads have criminal convictions for violent crimes against women. Not normally the kinds of men you’d want to entrust with ‘community safety’, but what would I know eh.

In any case, the following synopsis of the inglorious history of the TBC by Tom Tanuki bears repeating:

The TBC were formed after a few of their original core crew got into a scrap with some Antifa kids after a 2015 rally. ‘Never again,’ they said! So, the TBC were originally meant to be a patriot answer to black bloc Anteefa contingents.

Their red letter day came in May 2016, when they took part in an organised attempt to have the far-right march through Coburg. Their brief, televised fights with masked lefties were a big popularity boost for them. TBC started charging membership fees – $20 a week, $10 for ‘casual’ members. At one point, they were earning tens of thousands of dollars in just a few months! The money was being managed by TBC ‘President’ Kane Miller’s partner and her sister and all of that money was going to Kane. He was largely spending it as he liked.

Behind closed doors, the ‘President’ was abusing his partner. He even broke her back. He wasn’t the only woman-bashing TBC member, either – and when photographic evidence of another member’s brutal assault on his wife was made public, Kane avoided the increasing media spotlight on TBC by kicking Mark out. Members knew that decision made Kane a bit of a hypocrite, for the abovementioned reasons… So they started leaving the TBC. Kane’s abused partner finally left him too and the money management side of TBC went down the drain. The things she revealed about the abuse meant even more TBC members left the group – and they took their membership fees with them.

Kane went quiet for a long while, feeling defeated. TBC ‘club meetings’ dwindled after a time to little more than 12 unemployed blokes sitting around sucking cones in Kane’s mum’s living room. But the lure of conning working class Aussies out of their hard-earned wages still called to Kane. So TBC returned somewhat with an Australia Day BBQ in St Kilda (a genius idea he came up with after a sesh watching the new Romper Stomper). And he had some stupid fucking idea to wander around parks with a bunch of other losers looking for Sudanese children to fight. A meeting he held at Tom Sewell’s Cheltenham clubhouse was televised, with Channel 7 airing a description of the TBC’s initiative as being ‘like a Neighbourhood Watch’ – and it seemed to the world like the TBC were back!

It was not like a Neighbourhood Watch. It was just more hare-brained, shard-addled fantasy garbage from a man who was desperate to be given more membership fees to enjoy himself with. He says it’s for a ‘clubhouse’ but it isn’t and it never will be. TBC only have about 5-10 people contributing membership fees and they get most of their cash from merch. It’s not enough. Kane just wants to siphon more money out from poor, angry, confused Aussies.

That money won’t do anything but fund the TBC ‘President’ and his lifestyle. This is a man who gets cash-in-hand from his Muslim boss (serious!) and has membership fees go into his mates’ bank account so child support can’t take it. This is a man with convictions for domestic violence (he was also violent to his last ex, who also dumped him), multiple AVO breaches and firearms charges who won’t pay for his own child. Money given to TBC is fleeced money, and it pays for a shit fucking dude.

Finally, in January Victoria Police began to undertake arrests and charge various individuals, including Erikson, with various alleged offences arising from confrontations outside the Milo Yiannopoulos event at Melbourne Pavilion in December 2017. (VicPol also declared that the organisers of the event would face a phat invoice for the cost of policing it — a bill which main organiser Damien Costas declared that he simply would not pay.)

February

In February I took note of the very large march through Melbourne on Australia/Invasion/Survival Day.

I also took the opportunity to examine Keyboard Warriors of the Australian #AltRight : XYZ & David Hiscox, an online publication which, like others of its ilk, has become increasingly brazen in its commitments to promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, White supremacy, and other fun stuff. Regular XYZ columnist Ryan Fletcher:

Finally, Oxford University Press released The Oxford Handbook of the Radical Right, to which myself and Aurelien Mondon contributed a chapter on the radical right in Australia. I also drew attention to the Perth trial of members of Aryan Nations for murder, the fact that they played host to the UPF when they journeyed to Perth for the ‘Reclaim Australia’ rally in November 2015, and the fact that the Aryan Nations household was used as the location for the UPF’s announcement that they were going to form a political party, ‘Fortitude’.

March

Just two posts this month, one on ‘Firearm Owners United’ — a gun lobby whose President, James Buckle, was one of the founding members of The Lads Society — and another detailing a whole load of stuff, including the murder convictions of Aryan Nations, the beginning of the end of the Sydney-based Party for Freedom, alleged terrorist Phill Galea being deemed fit for trial, and more besides.

April

In April I began to examine some of the chancers and spivs on the right who, looking at the lucrative tour by Milo in December, decided that they too wanted a piece of the action; took note of a whiny Blair Cottrell; outed a member of neo-Nazi grouplet ‘Antipodean Resistance’; and wrote a reply to an article in the US radical press which claimed anTEEfa was a species of ‘liberalism’.

On a rather different note, I also profiled Melbourne’s second-hand bookshops.

Oh, and on April 21, the Sydney Criminal Lawyers website published ‘The Rise of Australian Neo-Nazis: An Interview with Online Activist Slackbastard’ by Paul Gregoire, which discusses Antipodean Resistance in the context of a broader discussion of fascism and the far right Down Under.

May

Again, just two posts this month (‘antifa notes’), including infos on the forced cancellation of a neo-Nazi heavy metal gig in Melbourne, Aryan Nations, Right Wing Resistance, the disruption of a church service in Gosford by serial pest Neil Eikson & Co., and a bizarre interaction with a right-wing propaganda outlet in the US.

June

I was a bit more busy in June. First, I detailed the role of the Arcadia Hotel in South Yarra as the favourite watering-hole for the Australian Liberty Alliance (the owner is also an anti-Muslim bigot), then detailed preparations by ‘Axiomatic Events’ for the tour Down Under of batshit right-wing propagandists Stefan Molyneux and Lauren Southern (both celebrated by Newscorpse), and its battles with rival hate-profiteers ‘Future Now’. I also promoted solidarity with Flemington estate arrestees (cf. Milo Yiannopoulos), recounted the TBC’s annual flagwit parade, published an extract from Roger Griffin’s new title on the fascist concept of the ultra-nation, and finally detailed Neil Erikson’s various battles with the forces of law & order.

In June, I also done a interview with socialist group Fightback in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

July

July was dedicated to Stefan Molyneux and Lauren Southern’s tour of Australia, including by way of drawing attention to its support by the AFL in Cairns. (Nobody else cared.)

August

Just three posts in August, concerning the promotion of neo-Nazi Blair Cottrell by Sky News (Australia’s answer to Fox News) in Neo-Nazi Blair Cottrell & Useful Idiots Adam Giles & Sky News Australia; Who are Antipodean Resistance? (August 2018 Update); and a final post on the ‘March for Men’ in Melbourne (for which neo-Nazis from The Lads Society helped provide security) and a pathetic neo-Nazi rally in Canberra. Note that, in private, The Lads’ expressed some rather typical — and I suppose mildly disturbing — opinions about the organiser of the March for Men’s organiser, Sydney Watson.

September

September saw alleged terrorist Phillip Galea back in court. The Age : ‘An accused far-right extremist spoke often about bombing two left-wing groups in Melbourne and said any innocent bystanders hurt would be “casualties of war”, an associate says. Phillip Galea is charged with making preparations for terrorist attacks on the Melbourne Anarchist Club and Melbourne Resistance Centre between November 2015 and August 2016.’ It also saw Nigel Farage in The Colonies. In Melbourne, Farage — whose tour was organised by Damien Costas — was hosted by the Sofitel Hotel. Among those in attendance were serial pest Neil Erikson (who was briefly detained by police) and his kamerad Andy Nolch, the man responsible for vandalising the memorial to murdered woman Eurydice Dixon.

I made note of some of the leaks from the secret Facebook group of neo-Nazi grouplet The Lads Society. On this occasion, it concerned the antics of some boneheads (see img above) in Brisbane, and Blair Cottrell’s upset at them being so open in their public displays of commitment to Nazi politics: The (neo-Nazi) Lads Society : Blair Cottrell’s pro-tip : Wear Your Swastikas On The Inside.

Also in September, I republished a letter from philosopher Simone Weil, recounting her experiences in the Spanish Civil War and involvement with a CNT militia, and made some notes on the role of the International Brigades in the conflict, updated the Trot Guide, and published an extract from an essay Elizabeth Humphrys wrote on ‘Halcyon Days? The Amalgamated Metal Workers’ Union and the Accord’. In the Trot Guide update I also made reference to the recently-published book The Far Left in Australia since 1945 (Routledge, 2018), edited by Jon Piccini, Evan Smith & Matthew Worley.

See also : How Labour Built Neoliberalism: Australia’s Accord, the Labour Movement and the Neoliberal Project (Brill, 2018).

Finally, in antifa notes (september 28, 2018) : Anning, Coulter, Fortress, Palmer, Yaxley-Lennon, Yiannopoulos et. al., I took a good look at the various tours Down Under of a number of foreign right-wing carpetbaggers, the activities of a number of local fascist creeps, and more.

October

On October 6, go-to lawyer for the far right, John Bolton, organised a tiny rally outside Lakemba. It attracted the support of All The Usual Suspects, including a handful of neo-Nazis, at least one of whom was implicated in later political shenanigans in NSW. Thus October also brought the sensational news that a bunch of nazis had infiltrated the Young Nationals in that state. Finally, in mid-October, right-wing Christians in Melbourne held a ‘March for Babies’. The organisers also employed neo-Nazis from The Lads Society to provide security.

Typically, no reference was made to this in media coverage.

*Oh. Also in October, I closed my blog and social media accounts for a few days. Which prompted various right-wing meatheads to proclaim that I’d been arrested and prolly flown to Guantanamo or something. LOL.

November

A relatively busy month, with eight posts, two of which were dedicated to examining (inter alia) the AltRight tour circuit: antifa notes (november 2, 2018) : milo & mcinnes; lads, proud boys & natzis and Damien Costas Presents : Gavin McInnes & Tommy Robinson Live in Australia (December 2018). I also took note of the death of The Last of the Spanish Anarchists Exiled to Australia, republished an article from the recently-revived Tribune on The ’43 Group (which smashed the re-emergent fascist movement in E-E-England after the end of WWII) and took a look at some of the (far) left and (far) right candidates for the Victorian state election.

Finally, I examined the denunciations of Australia First Party propagandist Nathaniel Jacob Sassoon Sykes by members of The Lads Society (as detailed in their secret Facebook group) and highlighted the ongoing campaign to shutdown The Lads’ organising space in the Sydney suburb of Ashfield.

December

In December, I wrote some general reflections On Right-Wing Trolls Touring Australia in 2018, published ‘Me-ism and The Left’ : A response to Joshua Dabelstein, and went into some detail regarding Milo Yiannopoulos’ recent travails in Milo Yiannopoulos (Penthouse Florida) ~versus~ Damien Costas (Penthouse Australia). I also examined the fortunes of (far) left and (far) right candidates at the Victorian state elections.

Finally, from The Department of The Strange, The Bizarre & The Disturbing, came Anarchy : Deep in the Woods (on ‘eco-extremism’) and Right Wing Resistance, Ricky White, & slackbastard in which, courtesy of the NSW Supreme Court, I was cast in the role of Ricky White.
