400,000+ visits (inc. some from some StRaNgE pLaCeS)

So as I was saying: 400,000+ visits blah blah blah.

Recently, visits have spiked.

The reason for this is that blog entries on the case of Jock Palfreeman have been linked to by some rather odd sources: bg.altermedia.org, the Blood & Honour and Levksi Hools forums.

altermedia is an online network providing news and views to racist Whites. Supposedly, it was established (in 2002) by former Grand Poobah of the KKK David Duke.

B&H is a neo-Nazi network for lovers of bad muzak.

The Levski Hools are right-wing ultras who follow PFC Levski Sofia. They are closely allied to B&H in Bulgaria, and the general fascist movement. Arch-rivals CSKA Sofia are naturally denounced as Communists, pigs and Turks, which is intended to be provocative, as hools from both sides are fascist.

All of which is to help explain why my blog has not only received a larger number of visits than usual, but has been treated to comments from various Bulgarian neo-Nazis, wishing death upon Jock, myself, and others who don’t share the commentators’ obsession with cleansing Bulgaria (and Europe, and the world) of the various species of untermenschen who plague them so.

See : Jock Palfreeman : November 24, 2009 Update (November 24, 2009) | November 30, 2009 : International Day of Justice for Jock Palfreeman (November 21, 2009) | freejock.net.

…There were many other dramatic clashes between the sides in the days when Bulgarian football was less affected by match-fixing, when this derby was not and the two Sofia teams played for local pride and for their supporters.

The good old days of yore are gone, however. Unless action is taken to cure Bulgarian football from the rampant corruption and match-fixing epidemic, the quality will be poor, the terraces will be empty, and most Bulgarian football fans will opt to stay home and watch the English Premiership instead.

It is no wonder that ahead of the match on November 1, the headlines in the media are not concerned with the actual game, tactics or lineups, but rather who is going to be the referee, and whether the match is fixed or not. The sheer fact that the ground’s capacity is nearly 50 000 seats, yet no more than 20 000 people are expected to show up speaks volumes for itself.

Apart from the match-fixing, the “eternal derby” has been marred by violence surpassing even the violence in some Western European countries. Each side boasts several hardcore casual and skinhead groups of supporters, or “firms”, who in the footsteps of English casuals and Italian ultras have one thing in mind – organised football violence, wherever they can have it…

Once upon a time, a very old tourist brochure for Sofia told foreigners visiting the town that “if you are lucky enough to be there during the fixture, it would be great to spare some time and visit the local derby between Levski and CSKA. Its definitely worth your while to be a small part of a little Sofia carnival.”

Should any foreigners contemplate going to the ground on Saturday – do it at your own risk.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I like anarchy. I don't like nazis. I enjoy eating pizza and drinking beer. I barrack for the greatest football team on Earth: Collingwood Magpies. The 2024 premiership's a cakewalk for the good old Collingwood.

Don’t forget me. Another visit stat! But I only blog and comment when I’m drunk. Drinking now actually. Another visit stat! I would do it when I’m sober and jump in on substantive debate but that got boring around 2006. Sometimes I decide to unleash on all and sundry logically which means to my ego all are untermensch, but oh well no stressing, don’t push me push a push pop.

But in actuality, between all the neo-fascist whatever and neo-communist whatever around here – it’s like a goddamn continental European deli, they always smelt weird to me – I enjoy being the token Liberal Democratic Party reader, whose sole focus is hatred of the Collingwood team and its Supporter. Oh yeah and some drunken ramblings which are funny to me.

You’re quite the workhorse. Congrats on all the hits. You suck.

I’m so happy FAB are friends with these people!

Can I get a framed copy of FAB’s official support for Andrei? I’ll put it next to the south division Levski Hools official support of Andrei.

I hope Jock dies too, so he never gets out and reads all the stupid comments from people putting nationalism above the war on racism.

So long as there are black markets in the betting industry operating without regulation, there will be corruption in football. But stopping these markets can only really be achieved if consumers have an alternative means of betting – as this comparison http://tiny.cc/JTvyE demonstrates, the poor value offered by gambling monopolies in Europe leads to a thriving black market.

With an open gambling market legitimate bookmakers can be regulated and encouraged to operate good practice, such as reporting suspicious betting patterns. Corruption will kill the sport otherwise.
