The Idealistic Faces Of “Australianism”

IN 1973 Al Grassby, immigration minister in the Whitlam government, announced the end of the white Australia policy. “It is dead,” he said. “Give me a shovel and I will bury it.” But the policy’s passing does not mean that it has been forgotten. Successive immigration controversies since have prompted claims that White Australia still holds a residual influence. ~ Gwenda Tavan, ‘Race lesson for leaders in policy’s slow demise’, The Sydney Morning Herald, May 4, 2005. See also : The Long, Slow Death of White Australia, Gwenda Tavan, Scribe Publications, 2005.

On the one hand, the ‘Australian Protectionist Party’ has proclaimed that it has succeeded in obtaining 100 members in NSW, thus allowing the party to register for participation as a party in local council elections in that state. On the other hand, the ‘Australia First Party’ appears to be on the brink of Federal registration; a process requiring it to have at least 500 members. After having initially stated that it had accrued 525 members in July 2009, and declaring that the requisite paperwork had been submitted in October 2009, the Party now claims that processing won’t take place until January, 2010.

With the collapse of ‘Australians Against Further Immigration’, and the near-total collapse of the ‘One Nation Party’, AF brings together a number of the remnants of these and earlier incarnations of the organised far right — of the late 1970s and early 1980s (‘National Resistance’ and ‘Australian National Alliance’) and the mid-1980s through to the early-1990s (‘National Action’ and ‘Confederate Action Party’).

Over to AF:

Australia First Registration Applicants Uphold The Ideals Of Australianism

Australia First Party has applied for registration as a party with the Australian Electoral Commission. The application was made on October 2 and will take some months to be processed.

Our party aims to consolidate those Australians who are prepared – right now – to stand up in the cause of Australian Identity, Independence and Freedom.

Some eleven members were obliged by law to co-sign the party registration application.

We are pleased to provide political biography on these members precisely because our party certainly aims to consolidate into one party those activists and shapers from earlier movements of nationalist resistance to the globalisation of our country. Our party has drawn together those who wish to pursue the struggle in an activist way. We have united people with long experience and we want other activists still involved elsewhere to appreciate that fact. In simple truth, Australia First Party represents a veritable tradition in Australian political life stretching back over decades. We aim to become the common vehicle that will achieve success.

1. Tony Pettitt

Tony will serve as Registered Officer. He entered nationalist politics in the late 1980s as an independent candidate and then worked through Australians Against Further Immigration and One Nation when he was a candidate several times and worked in an organizational capacity. He joined the new Australia First in 2008.

As noted, Pettitt is a veteran of the far right. The ‘new’ AF is the AF that developed after the split of mid-2007, when the Party went three ways: a rump party under the leadership of petunia-loving Shepparton resident Diane Teasdale; a new grouping titled the ‘Australian Protectionist Party’ under the nominal leadership of Andrew Phillips (but having as its principal spokesperson the Sydney-based Darrin Hodges); and the ‘new’ AF under Saleam’s leadership.

Pettitt drives a truck, and is a very talented performer for AF, having stood for the party in both Blacktown and Hawkesbury in September 2008. In Blacktown, the terrible trio of Tony Pettitt, Terry Cooksley (below) and George Atkinson managed to assemble 1,229 votes between them, or 5% of the total.

…Then the Third World migrants arrived and “things turned to shit”.

“If they want something, they just take it,” Pettitt adds. “No concern for the rule of law. Different values.” Pettitt will be one of the party’s leading candidates at the next federal election.

I ask the men about Saleam’s criminal history and whether it was an impediment to their electoral success. Both men say they believe he was framed and that the police do it all the time. One moment we are talking about Roger Rogerson shooting Warren Lanfranchi in a Sydney lane and then, the next, Pettitt chimes in to give an example of how easy it is to frame someone like Saleam: “Yeah, look at Saddam Hussein. Mass weapons of destruction. Where are they?”

There is irony that is lost on or unknown to these two men. The building we are sitting in was paid for with the remnants of George Saleam’s estate. Jim Saleam has been able to spend his entire adult life pursuing his racist agenda principally because his grandfather slipped through the White Australia net to become a successful and valued Australian…

2. Jim Saleam

Jim participated in the rebirth of the new Australian [n]ationalism, working through National Resistance and Australian National Alliance (1977-80) and was a co-founder of National Action which he led until 1991. He has written extensively on Australian identity. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2001 and the new Australia First in 2007. He will serve as National Secretary.

There’s a few things missing from Saleam’s bio: 1) he was once a member of the Australian Nazi Party; 2) he’s a convicted criminal. In fact, Saleam’s leadership role in NA was truncated by his imprisonment for his role in a shotgun assault upon the home of Eddie Funde in 1989; he was supplanted by Michael (de) Brander of Adelaide.

Saleam was recently profiled by Greg Bearup in the Good Weekend (September 26/27), revealing Herr Doktor to be a little rich kid of Lebanese descent who’s all grown up now but who, sadly, still retains some very peculiar ideas about race and nation, and phantasies of white racial supremacy.

Altogether, a rather unpleasant fellow, but points for trying.

3. Nick Maine

As an ‘old warrior’ in the patriotic struggle, Nick is 87 years and served in the Australian Army in New Guinea. He both founded, and was a member of, several organisations, which arose after the betrayal of the White Australia Policy in 1966, to warn Australians of the dangers of liberal immigration. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 1996 and the new Australia First in 2007.

An elderly bigot old warrior from Queensland, Maine has been pouring out his fears for years. He doesn’t seem to like The Jew very much, possibly because he reckons they’re the dark force “behind Communism” (“Globalism = Zionism = Communism”). This also presumably explains why he wants to rid Australia of Bad Jews (‘Zionists’) and Muslims.

As well as being well-educated, Maine is also well-travelled: “I have been to Auschwitz and although my memory might not be perfect after 25 years I do not remember any blue walls in the alleged gas chambers, in fact I believe they were white – now sue me!”

Er…

4. Brendan Gidley

Brendan entered the nationalist struggle in 1984 as a member of National Action until 1991 and was involved thereafter in Australians Against Further Immigration and One Nation as an organizer[.] He has co-operated [with] some nationalist websites and publishing services. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2002 and the new party in 2007.

ZOG says: “Another Victorian with a radical past who has hitched his star to Pauline’s wagon is Brendan Gidley, a One Nation branch committee member in the Melbourne suburb of Ringwood. Gidley stood for a Victorian Senate seat in 1993 for the Republican Party of Australia. He is also the founder of the tiny National Republican Movement, an anti-immigrant group that was active in the early 1990s, and which modelled itself on National Action. The NRM issued posters using artwork from the US-based Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. One of its stickers read: “Mass Third World immigration: Enriching our culture by TB, syphilis, AIDS, hepatitis, rabies, leprosy.” The NRM is still active, and is listed on a new far-right website as a supplier of “nationalist literature” written by former National Action and National Socialist (Nazi) Party leader Jim Saleam. The address given is Gidley’s PO Box in the Melbourne suburb of Kew.” (David Greason and Michael Kapel, AIJAC Notebook, June 16–July 7, 1998).

5. Neil Baird

Neil entered the nationalist struggle in 1992 as a member of Australians Against Further Immigration. He joined One Nation in 1997 and served the party as a candidate and in several administrative functions. He is a regular speaker [at] nationalist forums and joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2005 and the new party in 2007.

Baird contested the Federal seat of Barton for ON in 1998 and again in 2004. For his efforts, he got 5,162 votes (6.8%) in 1998 and 1,284 votes (1.7%) in 2004. Baird also edits (or edited) a crank newsletter called ‘The News Report’, which featured ruminations on all the stuff you might expect a cranky right-wing zine to contain.

6. Alex Norwick

Alex participated in the rebirth of the new Australian nationalism, working through National Resistance and Australian National Alliance (1977-80) and was a co-founder of National Action; he also worked in the 1980s with other patriotic groups. In the 1990s he worked with Australians Against Further Immigration and One Nation. He has written on Australian labour history. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2002 and the new Australia First in 2007.

7. Perry Jewell

Perry migrated to Australia from South Africa in 1972 and in 1990 co-founded Australia’s first mass nationalist-minded party – [the] Confederate Action Party. He worked subsequently through other groups in Queensland and founded in 2007 a movement to combat drug addiction in Australia. As a man of considerable political and other talent, he joined the new Australia First in 2009.

A far-right activist, founder of the now-defunct Queensland-based precursor to One Notion, the Confederate Action Party, and two-times Queensland Senate candidate (in 1993 and 1996), Jewell’s main claim to fame is having kidnapped his daughter a number of years ago in a bid to stop her using heroin (apparently). Jewell also contested the seat of Toowoomba North in the 2009 Queensland state election. He scored 494 votes (1.7%); which fact suggests that the people of Toowoomba North are not anywhere as patriotic as Perry.

8. Rob Fraser

Rob entered the nationalist arena in 1988, being an editor of the magazine, Bunyip Bulletin. He later participated in Australians Against Further Immigration. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2004 and the new Australia First in 2007.

Fraser’s Bulletin was replaced by a far-right zine called The National Reporter. The Bulletin itself has been described as racist and anti-Semitic, and apparently included cartoons by some bloke called Dennis Nix of the US-based National Socialist White People’s Party (a party parodied in the Blues Brothers). Doug Jensen published an article in the July 1989 edition (the zine ran from 1988–1989) in which he described the conservation movement as ‘The Enemy Within’:

Conservation which insists on the confiscation of privately owned lands into national parks is synonymous with communism. And governments – socialist and so-called non-socialist alike – are funding this idiotic nonsense with hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money; fashioning laws to use national parks, buffer zones, planning restrictions, conservation, etc., as a big stick to belt the Australian people into submission and subvert our nation to the goal of democratic socialism, and, ultimately, to the international dictatorship of communism.

And who’s behind international communism eh? Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more say no more.

9. Nathan Clarke

Nathan is a younger nationalist activist who entered the movement in 2005. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2005 and the new Australia First in 2007. He was a lead Council candidate for the new Australia First in Newcastle in 2008.

Clarke — along with Ian McBryde and Jim Smith — gained 328 votes at the election, or 2% of the total. Which means it’s just as well Clarke (who posts as ‘nafe’ on the Stormfront website) has a career in real estate to fall back on. (Not that he’d want to sell any property to The Jew of course).

10. Terry Cooksley

Terry joined Australian National Alliance (1979-80) and was a co-founder of National Action with which he remained until 1991. He was candidate in the 1990s for Australians Against Further Immigration and One Nation. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2002 and the new Australia First in 2007.

Cooksley ran with Pettitt in local council elections in 2008. Interviewed by Greg Bearup, Cooksley, a “retired typewriter technician”, expressed a deep appreciation of Australian history, society, and political economy: Cooksley tells me he arrived in Australia as a £10 Pom and that it was then a paradise. “I could walk down the street, read all the signs and you never had to lock your car or your house”. Then the Third World migrants arrived and “things turned to shit”.

Hopefully, Australia First can turn that all around.

11. Darrell Wallbridge

Darrell founded a local nationalist party in his native Coffs Harbour (1981) … passed into National Action (1982-91) and was a candidate for [the] Confederate Action Party. He joined the first incorporation of [the] Australia First Party in 2004 and the new Australia First in 2007.

Darrell Wallbridge is a clown. No, really: he entertains children and grown-ups alike when he dons his clown outfit. Well, those who attend their kids’ parties — and the weirdos who attend the Sydney Forum.

So there you have it: 9 middle-aged fascist zombies + one elderly racist + one young real estate agent from Newcastle with a deep suspicion of The Jew = the face of “Australianism” in 2009.

Bonus TISM!

“Alabama Pride” w/- Coolio & The Snowman!

LOL.

Alabama Pride promo clip with Coolio and Jeff Monson
Jim Murphy
The SAV SCI MMA blog
November 28, 2009

It may still have a name that sounds more like a Klan rally than a MMA event, but at least ‘Alabama Pride’ has pulled away from the abyss of what would have been the worst MMA card in history. The Tank Abbott vs. Butterbean match-up has thankfully been removed from the card and will hopefully never again be considered for the good of all mankind. DMX has famously bailed from the card as well, reportedly for insisting that the promoters ‘fix’ his fight. Color us unsurprised if that is true. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of rappers in need of a career boost so it’s Coolio [aka Artis Leon Ivey, Jr.] to the rescue–he’ll face Eric Martinez in what is billed as a kickboxing match.

The main event is now MMA’s favorite anarchist, Jeff Monson taking on 13 year MMA veteran Travis Fulton. Here’s the new promo clip for the event:

Town camp residents lose court challenge
Kate Hagan
The Age
November 27, 2009

THE Federal Government will proceed with its $100 million plan to improve conditions in Alice Springs’ decrepit town camps after a court yesterday rejected a legal challenge by indigenous residents.

Led by Barbara Shaw, the camp residents argued that housing associations that control the camps had signed new 40-year subleases with the Government illegally, by acting contrary to the interests of their members in ceding ”hard-won land rights”, and breaching contracts with tenants…

Aryan Guard: Obituary

Briefly: following the attempted bombing on the weekend, Canadian neo-Nazi groupuscule the ‘Aryan Guard’ is dead.

It lived just 997 years short of 1,000.

Before it died, the Guard helped launch ‘White Pride World Wide Day’ (aka ‘People Of European Origin With Pale Complexions In Calgary And Christchurch Who Choose To Celebrate Their Wise Choice Of Parents By Waving Flags In Public Day’), a celebration of racist stoopid scheduled to take place on March 21, the same date that the UN declared to be the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination’. ‘WPWW’ Day is a proudly Aussie invention, which prompted Paul Innes (the Perth-based moderator of Stormfront Down Under) to pass out racist samizdat on the streets, members of the ‘New Zealand National Front’ to march in Christchurch, and the Aryan Guard to jackboot aboot Calgary.

Another victory in the Eternal Struggle of the Master Race.

Anyway, ARA Calgary has written an obituary for the Angry Aryans, and here it is.

RaHoWa!

It is with great joy that today we announce the passing of the Aryan Guard.

Although the Guard only lasted three years, in that short time they managed to rack up an impressive list of failures and acts of epic cowardice and gross incompetence.

In just three years we have seen the Guard exemplify the ‘virtues’ of the ‘White Nationalist’ movement by attacking a diminutive Japanese woman from behind; organizing poorly-attended rallies easily shut down by anti-racist Calgarians; beating an unarmed homeless man nearly to death; getting arrested, time and again, for drug offenses; fraudulently advertising a non-existent relocation subsidy programme; and even failing to keep up with the payments on their post-office boxes. It has been a legacy of incompetence mixed with violence as yet unparalleled in this city.

Most notable, however, was the Aryan Guards’ unwavering commitment to hypocrisy.

While they preached ‘family values’, the Guard itself was rife with teen pregnancies and abandoned mothers — most notably exemplified by Guard co-founder Kyle McKee who made an amateur pornographic video of himself and a married woman while his teen girlfriend was at home, pregnant with his child. Despite their alleged commitment to ‘unity’ amongst ‘white nationalists’, the Guard revelled in in-fighting and bickering. They fostered a near gang-war rift between themselves and the Volksfront and came to blows with each other over the most trite subjects: the theft of a coin collection, the borrowing of a car, and, of course, girls. The passing of the Guard, in fact, can be directly attributed to Kyle McKee’s attempted murder of a former Aryan Guard member over an amorous misadventure.

Certainly, there are many in Calgary who love to be able to take the credit for the demise of the Aryan Guard. The sad fact, however, is that there is only one organization that can rightfully stake the claim as the group that ran the Guard out of town: the Guard itself. Yes, many of us in the anti-racist movement put a lot of effort into monitoring, confronting and containing the Guard — you know who you are — and that work has been valuable. The pressure applied to the Guard on multiple levels, overt and covert, stymied many of their recruiting efforts, refocused their actions on more hardened targets and served, often, to fan the flames of internal dissent in the Guard that led, ultimately, to it’s implosion. The lesson we take from the death of the Guard is that Fascism is an unstable ideology and that, as anti-fascists, it is our job to contain, restrict and apply pressure to groups like the Guard until they do, eventually, crack.

And so, to the Guard: good riddance. With the anchor of that organization gone, we can only hope that the angry and hateful and spiteful people it attracted will drift away and maybe, even, grow up. But if for some reason they don’t, the racists of this city would do well to remember one thing.

We’re still watching.

Fascist infiltration of the ‘Humanist Society of New South Wales’ (Inc.)

Source : Fightdemback!

Introduction

Recent events in the Sydney suburb of Chippendale have sparked public protest and widespread expressions of concern from local residents; the issues raised by these events have received coverage in independent media (2SER, Indymedia and elsewhere) as well as in the pages of The Sydney Morning Herald.

Thus far, there have been two public protests — on October 2 and November 6 — and in addition criticism from locals regarding the distribution of ‘racist’ propaganda in the area. Much of this concern has centred upon the use of Humanist House (10 Shepherd St, Chippendale) by one fascist group in particular: ‘Klub Naziya’.

Sadly, the presence of members of ‘Klub Naziya’ at the House appears to have emboldened local racists, and according to one local blogger “neo-Nazis seem to be taking a shine to our area” (Steve Noble, ‘Life in Chippendale’, November 10, 2009).

This text has been produced by the anti-racist network ‘Fightdemback!’ in order to address these concerns, and to provide greater insight into the means by which members of Sydney’s far right have been able to utilise Humanist House and the NSW Humanist Society in order to pursue their political agenda.

The ‘Humanist Society of New South Wales’ (Inc.) & Klub Naziya

Established in 1960, the ‘Humanist Society of New South Wales’ (Inc.) is a secular organisation dedicated to the promotion of humanism. In keeping with this aim, the Society declares that its members “believe that reason and scientific enquiry provide the only real path” to solving social problems.

The Society’s motto is ‘Rational Humaneness’.

In addition to its other activities, the Society owns and manages a building in Chippendale, dubbed ‘Humanist House’, which it uses to host meetings. These meetings are organised both by the Society and other groups, who hire the hall from the Society for that purpose.

One of the groups which has been meeting at Humanist House is known as ‘Klub Naziya’. According to Society spokesperson David Duffy, ‘Klub Naziya’ has been meeting at the House for the last eight years (‘Jeering crowd blocks meeting of extreme right’, Leesha McKenny, The Sydney Morning Herald, November 15, 2009). In October and November 2009, however, meetings of ‘Klub Naziya’ have been accompanied by public protest.

Public opposition to ‘Klub Naziya’ centres upon claims by critics that the group promotes racist and fascist viewpoints. If correct, the continued presence of ‘Klub Naziya’ at Humanist House would appear to undermine claims by the Society to be dedicated to encouraging “respect for the universal human rights of men and women free from discrimination on the basis of race, class, disability, gender, age, nationality or sexual orientation”.

Fightdemback! shares the concerns raised by local residents with regards ‘Klub Naziya’, and further understands ‘Klub Naziya’ to be an expression of a broader project of fascist infiltration of the Society. This attempt to infiltrate and subvert the Society has reached the stage where, following the Society’s AGM of August, 2009, known fascists and fascist sympathisers now sit upon its Committee of Management. These include Ken Cratchley, David McBryde, Mark Pavic and Andrew Wilson.

Who and what is ‘Klub Naziya’?

In essence, ‘Klub Naziya’ — sometimes also referred to as ‘Klub Nation’ — is a regular gathering of members of Sydney’s far right. According to David Duffy — who is the person responsible for arranging the hiring of Humanist House — the group associated with ‘KN’ has been meeting at the House for the last eight years; that is, since 2001.

Among the more prominent members of KN are Jason Rafty and David Palmer.

David Palmer is a well-known, indeed infamous, figure on the Australian far right. According to Jeremy Jones of the ‘Executive Council of Australian Jewry’ (‘Report on Antisemitism in Australia, October 1, 2007–September 30, 2008’ [PDF]): “David Palmer of Sydney, has claimed to be the leader of many organisations and movements over the past twenty years. The groups he has claimed to represent include the Ku Klux Klan, White Pride Coalition, the National Socialist Defence of Australia Party, Asgard and the Australian Nazi Party. He has been responsible for leafleting campaigns, hate mail and many media stories on the groups he has claimed to lead. He is always willing to appear in the media as Australia’s self-proclaimed Fuehrer.”

More recently, Palmer was featured — along with David Innes of ‘Stormfront’ and John Drew of the ‘Australia First Party’ (AF) — in the pages of Zoo magazine as being one of ‘The Most Dangerous Men in Australia’ (August 6, 2007).

Rafty is a more obscure figure but, like Palmer, he was also at one point a member of Stormfront (the world’s most popular white supremacist website). His account on Stormfront has been purged, but in 2007, Rafty claimed “Klub Nation is the only continuous meeting place for white Nationalists in Sydney since 2003… sponsored by the PIF Inc (Public Information Forum)… in essence [it] is a networking and social point for Nationalists…”.

As a venue for social networking among the far right, KN has served as a meeting point for members of the ‘White Pride Coalition of Australia’ (WPCA): a coalition of the Australian Nationalists Movement (ANM), World Church of the Creator (WCOTC), Imperial Klans of Australia (IKA), New Zealand National Front (NZNF) and National Socialist Party of Australia (NSPA). Visitors to the WPCA site — which has been preserved by the National Library of Australia — are greeted with the following message: “Welcome, My White Comrades, to the White Pride Coalition Australia. Heil Hitler! Hail Woden! Sieg Heil! Stay White Comrades 88″.

Fascist infiltration of the ‘Humanist Society of New South Wales’ (Inc.)

Since the beginning of 2009, if not before, a large number of members of Sydney’s far right, numbering between 30 and 40, have been recruited in an apparent attempt to infiltrate the Society. In political science, this tactic is often referred to to as ‘entryism’. Currently, the fascist grouping within the Society is estimated to comprise approximately 1/4 to 1/5 of its entire membership.

Among those who have joined the Society in this period and who, following the Society’s Annual General Meeting in August, have been elected on to its Management Committee, are the following:

Ken Cratchley

Ken Cratchley is known for both his membership of and espousal of the views of the ‘Christian Separatist Church Society’ (PO Box 385, Gymea, NSW 2227) and his maintenance of a neo-Nazi music distribution service known as ‘Scythian Services’. Like Palmer and Rafty, Cratchley is also a member of Stormfront (joining it in November 2002), where he posts using the handle ‘Pastor Bullets’ (one of his email addresses is [email protected]).

The ‘Christian Separatist Church Society’ is a religious group that holds as a central tenet the belief that its members must all be Caucasian because they are uniquely blessed by God and must separate themselves from all non Caucasian persons. According to the Stephen Roth Institute’s Report on Antisemitism and Racism for Australia 2001/2, ‘The website of the Christian Separatist Church Society (CSCS) is militantly antisemitic, going so far as to ridicule overt anti-Jewish propagandists such as Frank Dowsett for being too moderate, and asserting that “British-Israeli is most often only a surname for Masonic mongrel-lover”‘.

In January 2007, ‘Pastor’ Ken Cratchley was interviewed about his Church by Australian neo-Nazi Carl D. Thompson for the radio show he produces on behalf of the US-based ‘National Socialist Movement’ (‘Muslims Recruiting Suicide Bombers to Attack’, Australia Calling, January 22, 2007: “…an interview with Pastor Bullets of Stormfront”).

Scythian Services, like other sites hosted by GeoCities, is no longer available online: its address was http://www.geocities.com/nazipunk1488 (it is, however, available for viewing on archive.org). Its contents, along with those of sites belonging to National Action, Blood & Honour Australia, The Adelaide Institute, White Pride Coalition Australia and the World Church of the Creator (WCOTC) Australia (among others), are examined by Gareth Norris, Robyn Lincoln and Paul Wilson in their research paper ‘Contemporary comment: An examination of Australian internet hate sites’ (Bond University, 2005) [PDF.

NB. A “Syd Cratchley” stood for AF in Ward B, Sutherland Shire (NSW) Council election in 2004. He is described by AF as follows: “Mr. Syd Cratchley is a professional-clerical worker. He has lived in ‘The Shire’ for his forty years. Mr. Cratchley is a target-shooter and has spoken up for firearm owners’ rights. He has had a life-long interest in Australian history and has taken the defence of this ethos to be of over-riding importance. Our candidate has a Christian commitment and finds in the multiculturalists’ defence of other incompatible religions in Australia, a chaos factor in Australian society. This is his first candidacy for public office.”

David McBryde

David McBryde is closely associated with Dr James Saleam, AF and in particular the Sydney Forum, the annual gathering in Sydney of the far right. McBryde established the Sydney Forum website, and is otherwise pre-occupied with the ideas of the German-American philosopher Leo Strauss, whose work assumes a controversial place within the development of contemporary neo-conservative thought. Since its inception in 2001, the Sydney Forum itself has played host to a range of racist and fascist speakers.

Mark Pavic

Mark Pavic, whom Dr James Saleam of AF describes as a “neo-Nazi”, came to notoriety in 1985, when he was convicted of his mother’s murder. (Saleam also claims Pavic was once a close associate of David Palmer.) According to sources within the Society, Pavic, along with Cratchley, plays the leading role within the fascist group.

[See : The Liberal Party’s ‘Nutzi Connection’ Revealed As The British-Israel World Federation $500,000 Takeover Plot Takes New Directions, ‘Inside The Kangaroo Reich’ (no date) http://home.alphalink.com.au/~radnat/kangarooreich/partten.html. Saleam writes: “[John] Boyle has travelled to meetings (Humanist House ‘Open Forum’ and the ‘Conservative Speakers’ Club’) with neo-[N]azi Mark Pavic, a man who served a prison sentence over the killing of his mother and the disposal of her body in Lake Burley Griffin, way back in 1985. Mr. Pavic has used Mr. Boyle’s office address as his residential address for various ‘legal’ purposes; and he keeps the whereabouts of his lodgings secret because of a ‘fear’ his sister will one day ‘pop him off’ for killing their mother. Mr. Pavic, whilst being an intimate of the Palmer group, also served as a secretary for the left-wing organization, ‘Politics In The Pub’…]

Andrew Wilson

In the years 2004–2005, Andrew Wilson was a member of, and the Sydney organiser for, the ‘Patriotic Youth League’, a botched attempt by AF to establish a youth wing. Like Palmer, Rafty and Cratchley, Wilson was also at one point a member of the Stormfront forum. The PYL lead a relatively brief existence, conducted campaigns against the presence of foreign students on University campuses and trade union support for foreign workers, and underwent a significant crisis when its Sydney branch was also discovered to be functioning as the contact point for the US-based neo-Nazi group ‘Volksfront’.

Conclusion

In response to the above, the Humanist Society has organised a ‘Special General Meeting’ to take place on Sunday, November 29. The SGM is intended to examine the infiltration of the Society by local fascists and their supporters, and to devise means of combating their influence. According to the Society’s President, John August, “at the recent AGM in August 2009, “Klub Nation” [a/k/a Klub Naziya] showed its hand. After the elections were over, we realised that PIF [a/k/a Klub Naziya] participants and their supporters dominated the management committee.”

Those who share Fightdemback!’s concern over the presence of neo-Nazis in Chippendale, their infiltration of the Society, and dominant position on its management committee, are invited to attend and to observe the SGM in order to ensure that the issue is properly dealt with. We understand that local and national media may also be present in order to provide coverage, and that Humanist associations elsewhere in Australia and indeed the world will be watching events as they unfold quite closely.

Finally, given the Society’s inadvertent introduction of ‘Klub Naziya’ into Chippendale, local residents are especially welcome, and to support those elements within the Society, such as its President, who remain committed to its original vision as a vehicle for the promotion of humanism and, as a consequence, against the propagation of irrational prejudice.

Phone your mom, you’re human
Don’t play dumb, you’re human
I know that you’re anxious
You want more than this

Clean your mess, you’re human
Get undressed, you’re human
I know you’re embarrassed
Pale and hairless

Step right up folks and join the fun
See the amazing ape with his opposable thumb
You’ll be shocked, amazed, even horrified
That so much could be so compromised

Little monkeys making money
Naked monkeys looking funny
Mighty males are strong and free
Female monkeys, not so lucky
Rocking monkeys, funky monkeys
Monkeys sticking other monkeys
Monkeys wrong or monkeys right
Mostly flexing monkey might
Humans

Now you’ve lost your Eden
There is no returning
It stares up and out at you
It’s not for you

I don’t care, I’m human
I’m too scared, I’m human
I know you want peace of mind
To be with your kind

You won’t believe your eyes
A cranium of unparalleled size
Immaculate if ill conceived
A sight not to be believed

Little monkeys making money…

I like other humans
They’re so very human
I know that it’s obvious
We’re all just like this
Only human

Boing Boing: Authority

Understanding the psychology of authoritarianism
Boing Boing
November 23, 2009

Mike sez, “Bob Altemeyer’s excellent book ‘The Authoritarians’ is online in full pdf format. It’s a result of 30+ years of research into what he calls ‘right-wing authoritarianism’- right in the sense of ‘might makes’ rather than ‘opposite of left’. It’s a fascinating explanation of how the minds of this subset of the population works- or in some cases, fails to: how they are able to assiduously apply double standards, fail to notice inconsistencies in their beliefs, justify abominable behavior, etc. Somehow, knowing that these people really, truly, can’t reason in the same way the majority of us can makes them a little less irksome, if not less frightening.”

I’ve read a couple chapters, and he’s a funny and engaging writer who seems to have a lot of experimental evidence to present. Good stuff.

The second reason I can offer for reading what follows is that it is not chock full of opinions, but experimental evidence. Liberals have stereotypes about conservatives, and conservatives have stereotypes about liberals. Moderates have stereotypes about both. Anyone who has watched, or been a liberal arguing with a conservative (or vice versa) knows that personal opinion and rhetoric can be had a penny a pound. But arguing never seems to get anywhere. Whereas if you set up a fair and square experiment in which people can act nobly, fairly, and with integrity, and you find that most of one group does, and most of another group does not, that’s a fact, not an opinion. And if you keep finding the same thing experiment after experiment, and other people do too, then that’s a body of facts that demands attention. Some people, we have seen to our dismay, don’t care a hoot what scientific investigation reveals; but most people do. If the data were fairly gathered and we let them do the talking, we should be on a higher plane than the current, “Sez you!”

400,000+ visits (inc. some from some StRaNgE pLaCeS)

So as I was saying: 400,000+ visits blah blah blah.

Recently, visits have spiked.

The reason for this is that blog entries on the case of Jock Palfreeman have been linked to by some rather odd sources: bg.altermedia.org, the Blood & Honour and Levksi Hools forums.

altermedia is an online network providing news and views to racist Whites. Supposedly, it was established (in 2002) by former Grand Poobah of the KKK David Duke.

B&H is a neo-Nazi network for lovers of bad muzak.

The Levski Hools are right-wing ultras who follow PFC Levski Sofia. They are closely allied to B&H in Bulgaria, and the general fascist movement. Arch-rivals CSKA Sofia are naturally denounced as Communists, pigs and Turks, which is intended to be provocative, as hools from both sides are fascist.

All of which is to help explain why my blog has not only received a larger number of visits than usual, but has been treated to comments from various Bulgarian neo-Nazis, wishing death upon Jock, myself, and others who don’t share the commentators’ obsession with cleansing Bulgaria (and Europe, and the world) of the various species of untermenschen who plague them so.

See : Jock Palfreeman : November 24, 2009 Update (November 24, 2009) | November 30, 2009 : International Day of Justice for Jock Palfreeman (November 21, 2009) | freejock.net.

…There were many other dramatic clashes between the sides in the days when Bulgarian football was less affected by match-fixing, when this derby was not and the two Sofia teams played for local pride and for their supporters.

The good old days of yore are gone, however. Unless action is taken to cure Bulgarian football from the rampant corruption and match-fixing epidemic, the quality will be poor, the terraces will be empty, and most Bulgarian football fans will opt to stay home and watch the English Premiership instead.

It is no wonder that ahead of the match on November 1, the headlines in the media are not concerned with the actual game, tactics or lineups, but rather who is going to be the referee, and whether the match is fixed or not. The sheer fact that the ground’s capacity is nearly 50 000 seats, yet no more than 20 000 people are expected to show up speaks volumes for itself.

Apart from the match-fixing, the “eternal derby” has been marred by violence surpassing even the violence in some Western European countries. Each side boasts several hardcore casual and skinhead groups of supporters, or “firms”, who in the footsteps of English casuals and Italian ultras have one thing in mind – organised football violence, wherever they can have it…

Once upon a time, a very old tourist brochure for Sofia told foreigners visiting the town that “if you are lucky enough to be there during the fixture, it would be great to spare some time and visit the local derby between Levski and CSKA. Its definitely worth your while to be a small part of a little Sofia carnival.”

Should any foreigners contemplate going to the ground on Saturday – do it at your own risk.

Kyle McKee : An Angry Aryan with BONUS! Bombs

Update #3 : Over a year later, Kyle “has been sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty Thursday to three criminal charges. McKee, 25, pleaded guilty to uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public in connection with an incident on Feb. 13, and for assaulting a woman at a prior party.” (White supremacist gets 60 days in jail for threats, Calgary Herald March 19, 2011). The threats were made to anti-racist activist Jason Devine, who in November last year had his house broken into by five masked men who proceeded to assault him. (The five remain at large.)

Update #2: A teenager has been arrested in Calgary. Also: The Mainstream Media is Starting to Get It, But…, Anti-Racist Canada, November 24, 2009: ‘Neo-Nazis not so harmless: Calgary blast ignites concerns’, Michael Platt, The Calgary Sun, November 24, 2009: “Scorched bricks and a parking lot full of pennies and bent nails. If anything should serve as a wake-up call to the cancer in Calgary’s midst, it’s this: The remnants of two homemade pipe bombs that exploded harmlessly in a northeast parking lot…”

Update #1: We’ve Learned Who Was Targetted By the Aryan Guard, Anti-Racist Canada, November 23, 2009: “Today, we learned who the male and female targets were. And while we will not share the name of the woman, we have no problem sharing the name of the male”: Tyler Sturrup, “a member of the Aryan Guard splinter group, W.E.B. Apparently the split occurred because some Aryan Guard members felt that not enough “proactive” (read: violent) actions were being taken. In most of the pictures of the last “White Pride” march from spring 2009 where racists were seen attacking people, the individuals committing the violent acts are members of W.E.B.”

I am shocked.

Shocked and stunned.

Kyle Robert McKee — the much-loved founder of Canada’s bizarro white supremacist political cult the Aryan Guard — is wanted by authorities in connection to his alleged involvement in a little bombing incident in Calgary on Saturday (November 21). “Investigators believe this was a targeted attack after questioning the occupants of the apartment suite where the device was first found” (Police seek pair after IEDs discovered at Rundle apartments, Metro Calgary, November 23, 2009).

Prior to McKee’s most recent alleged foray into the world of improvised explosive devices, the Aryan Guard was probably most well-known for prancing about on ‘White Pride World Wide’ Day. That is, March 21: a day otherwise known as ‘International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination’.

Who’s McKee anyway? According to some mob in Canada:

The founder of the Aryan Guard, Kyle McKee… originally came to Calgary from Kitchener, Ontario where he had numerous run-ins with anti-racists and police. He lived with neo-Nazi Nathan Touchette and made the news when they flew a Nazi flag from their apartment, much to the outrage of everyone in the neighbourhood. McKee and Touchette made it known that they planned on moving to Calgary. Calgary’s mayor made it known they weren’t welcome. They moved anyways (after trashing the place they had been living in to the point where the house was condemned) though both eventually returned to Ontario (but not before McKee spent some time in jail for assault and possession of a weapon while wearing a mask). McKee eventually moved back to Calgary where he organized a group of dropouts and thugs into a group called the Aryan Guard.

McKee and Touchette have also been members of the neo-Nazi muzak network ‘Blood & Honour’.

The (attempted) bombing comes days after anti-Semitic schmucks in Calgary decided to graf a synagogue, a Holocaust memorial and a Jewish community centre (bringing to mind the batshit antics of the ‘White Devils’ in Perth a few years ago). Writes ‘Anti-Racist Canada’: “Some of the graffiti, in addition to the swastikas, included statements such as, “6 million more” in reference to the Holocaust and “Kill Jews.” Kill Jews? Now where have we seen that before? Oh yes! On Kyle McKee’s shins…”

Huh.

Call for shooter of cat shooter and supporters to be prosecuted

Call for shooter of cat shooter and supporters to be prosecuted
Kate Lahey
The Age
November 24, 2009

A crazed cat lover who shot dead a bastard who shot six kittens and cats in an animal shelter should be arrested immediately and cat lovers should hang their heads in shame for defending her, the Australian Bastards Union says.

Cat lovers have defended the shooting of the bastard who shot the six cats shortly after they were shot at a shelter last week, saying he was feral and unable to be controlled.

But Bastards Union president Hugh Strangelove says the shooting is an indefensible act of cruelty and a bastard should only ever be shot in an emergency situation, if it is causing suffering and needs to be put down immediately.

”This was not an emergency situation, but a retaliatory act” Dr. Strangelove said. ”I’m completely outraged.”

The cat lovers had a professional assassin available to administer lethal injections and with training in dealing with feral bastards, ”if in fact that’s what he was”, Dr Strangelove said.

The Victoria Police are investigating and the cat lover could face criminal prosecution under the Prevention of Cruelty to Bastards Act.

Cat Lovers Society president Miss Miaow released a statement saying the cat lover acted ethically.

”Whilst destruction of bastards via gunshot is not normally the standard procedure, it can be performed in certain circumstances,” she said.

”We regret that this has caused concern amongst the numerous bastards who inhabit our community, however this is an accepted method that cat lovers can use. There were no malicious intentions by any Society member.”

Dr. Strangelove said Miaow’s defence of the killing made her ”as bad as the shooter”.

”Any cat lover in the Cat Lovers Society who has celebrated that bastard’s shooting ought to be arrested along with the shooter,” he said.

The last known case of a bastard being shot after shooting cats in a shelter was in Horsham three years ago, he said.

Dr. Strangelove said such shootings often reflected an attitude that a bullet was all that these bastards deserved, and was much cheaper than hiring a Mafia hitman.

A lethal injection would render a bastard unconscious within about two seconds, while a gunshot could leave the bastard suffering in pain for hours, he said.
