Racist Facebook group targets Aussie immigrants

A rapidly expanding social networking site has been slammed for its racist taunts against immigrants to Australia.

The Facebook Group, F*** Off, We’re Full, has nearly 65,000 members and believes any immigrants coming to Australia must adapt to what it calls the ‘Aussie lifestyle.’

“This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity,” the site states.

“As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.”

The website is full of debate on its discussion board. The latest topics put up for comment include: Will Indian race-rioters be hunted down? and All foreigners need to be euthanised.

Matt, an active member of the group, said he joined because he believed immigrants were ruining the Australian way of life.

“That’s why I joined it because I’m a very proud Australian and I love this place and I wouldn’t give it up for the world,” he said.

He believed the Federal Government’s current immigration policies were too lenient.

“Personally I think that it should be put out there that we will shoot or destroy any vessel that comes into the Australian waters without the applicable visas or the Australian Government knowing of their existence,” he said.

Female member Courtney said she recognised the site was racist but stood by its beliefs.

“I believe if you are going to come here, then do what we do and if you don’t like it then leave,” she said.

Another member, who doesn’t want his name used, mirrored this view.

“I don’t see why it should be a problem to have a group that is basically of an opinion that our country is full at the moment and we don’t need any more bloody third world immigrants coming over here and making things worse than they already are,” he said.

Murdoch University senior psychology lecturer Dr Anne Pedersen said the Facebook members were contradicting themselves.

“Why should we make people of colour assimilate to the white Australian culture, when in fact Indigenous people were the first people here,” she said.

Project SafeCom coordinator Jack Smit, who advocates for refugee rights, said the site was incredibly offensive.

“Stop vilifying migrants and stop vilifying refugees who are running for their lives… and need to come here,” he said.

“Everyone who attempts to exclude a whole swag of nationalities from what they regard as true Australians commits a form of racism.”

Dr Pedersen believed shutting down the group would be pointless but said there was a limit to freedom of speech.

“I believe in freedom in speech, but with free speech comes responsibility and this is irresponsible,” she said.

The Australian Protectionist Party, which describes itself as the patriotic movement Australia is looking for, says multiculturalism is ruining Australia.

Party spokesperson Darrin Hodges regularly uploads topic discussions on the site and says the Australian identity needs to be protected.

    Darrin spent many happy years posting on the Nazi Stormfront Down Under forum, as well as maintaining his multifarious blogs. He felt that the forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion were essential reading for all Nutzis, and opined: “I’m more interested in the purer form of fascism… and while I don’t subscribe to the whole ‘worship Hitler’ thing, his comments on multiculturalism and politics in general are still just as relevant today as they were 70 years ago”.

“Every country does have its own culture and way of life and they should be looking to preserve that rather than turning all countries into a globalised mish-mash,” he said.

“In terms of protecting the identity, that comes back down to immigration and who is allowed into the country and who isn’t.

“We would see immigration turned back to the more traditional forces of being Europe and Great Britain.”

    On his blog and elsewhere, Darrin also describes Islam as a “religion of filth”, denounces “Negro savages”, and demands both groups be removed from our precious White soil. Other quotes by Darrin are below.

But Dr Pedersen said Australia was already a multicultural society and had been for a long time.

“It’s just that we’re not white anymore, walk down the streets, we’re not a white city anymore and thank god we’re not, “ she said.

Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities states that any content that is ‘unlawful, misleading, malicious or discriminatory’ could be shutdown.

We introduce, for your pleasure, The Anarchist Library, an archive of anarchist texts: books, essays, and articles. We hope that this archive grows from its initial selection of over 400 titles (books, essays, and articles) into a comprehensive textual library that spans the entirety of anarchist thought.

The Internet has allowed us an amazing opportunity to share anarchist texts widely. This has allowed more people than ever access to obscure anarchist literature and propaganda. The few existing anarchist archives have all been helpful and inspirational to this project, which arises due to the inactivity of the existing online anarchist archives, with little sign that anyone is specifically serving as a librarian (commonly lacking introduction, curation, updating, or all of the above). A library is either active or dying and with the internet popping with new anarchist texts every day, we believe it would be a shame to not attend to them.

Our group is comprised of anarchists spread across 10 timezones that use conversational consensus to review, edit and update the site. We are an open group.

The right just won all across Europe, thanks to nationalism, populism and recession. It could happen [in the United States] too.

The populist backlash that many have predicted would follow the crash of 2008 is here. Well, not here, exactly. Over there, in Europe.

In the June 7 elections to the European Parliament, center-left social democrats were devastated, while far-right nationalist and populist candidates made big gains. The center-left fell from 217 seats to 159, while the center-right coalition remained the largest bloc with 267 seats.

The biggest story involves the gains by a variety of extreme-right parties, many of which combine populist nationalism with hostility to immigration for ethnic or economic reasons. The far-right British National Party (BNP), whose leader Nick Griffin claims that “indigenous” white Britons are “second-class citizens” in their own homeland, won a seat in the European Parliament for the first time. Other nationalist, anti-immigrant parties picked up seats in Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Finland, Romania and Greece…

It was on Hitler’s birthday, deliberately chosen, that the National Socialist Movement was formed in Britain in the 1960s. It was the first political organisation of the far right that Andrew Brons, the newly-elected British National party MEP for Yorkshire and Humberside, was to join – but not the last.

The group that he signed up to as a teenager had been founded in honour of Hitler by the British fascist leader, the late Colin Jordan. No mention of this early political involvement features on the BNP’s website celebrating Brons’s victory. Instead, Brons is portrayed just as a “veteran British Nationalist”…

Sonia Gable of Searchlight said that his past made him a strange choice for a BNP seeking to create a “respectable” image for itself.

“Everyone in the BNP is trying to look respectable and Brons is an odd choice because he was in the NF at its most racist,” she said.

She added that she thought Brons had been chosen as a candidate because Nick Griffin, the chairman of the BNP, believed that he would have strong links with far-right organisations in Europe.

The BNP denies being an anti-semitic organisation, and when asked about Brons’s involvement with the NSM and the NF and his calls for compulsory repatriation, a spokesman for the party said: “That was nearly 30 years ago, times have moved on … You print what you want.”

…Arnold Leese, a former vet, an anti-Semite, and admirer of Hitler, had been a founder member of the Imperial Fascist League in 1928. Released from prison in 1944 on grounds of ill-health, Leese became the [principal] star in the 1940s British fascist firmament, attracting to him all the leading national socialist players of the 1950s and 1960s, including Cambridge graduate and schoolteacher Colin Jordan. When Leese and his wife died, the house [Arnold Leese House, 46–48 Princedale Road, Holland Park] was left to Jordan who turned it into the base for his “White Defense League”, the instigators of much of the racial confrontation in Notting Hill in the late-1950s. In 1960, the WDL merged with the National Labour Party to form the Hitlerite British National Party and then the National Socialist Movement, founded by Jordan and John Tyndall on what would have been Hitler’s 73rd birthday, 20 April 1962.

The paranoid wackos of this seedy West London tenement had one thing in common — the conviction that Jews, freemasons, homosexuals, gypsies, Jesuits, anarchists and Communist Party members were all agents of subversion under the control of a ruthless global elite directing world events to their advantage…

Veteran British neo-Nazi Colin Jordan (June, 1923–April 9, 2009) is dead.

Jordan established the ‘National Socialist Movement’ and ‘World Union of National Socialists’ in the UK in 1962. He struck gold in 1963 when he married wealthy heiress Françoise Dior. In addition to being a nutzi, Jordan will most likely be remembered for his rather spectacular fall from grace.

Jordan reorganized the National Socialist Movement itself in 1968 as the British Movement, but by 1974 he has been forced to step down in favor of Michael McLaughlin. The split was far less than amicable. It was Jordan, however, who provided McLaughlin with the sword with which to do in the movement’s founder, and Jordan further obliged his enemies by taking a running start and skewering himself in a manner guaranteed to bring maximum public humiliation. It seems that, for reasons best known only to him, Jordan was arrested on charges of simple shoplifting. Worse, Jordan’s booty was comprised of lingerie — to wit, pairs of women’s panties. Why the financially secure Jordan would resort to this method of shopping was a mystery to the British Movement, but soon the internal correspondence of many of the faithful had brought to Jordan the nickname of “Knickers Stealer”, and the McLaughlin faction of the British Movement had a field day with the news. The label stuck, dogging Jordan’s ill-fated campaigns in the 1970s to seize back control of the British Movement and, indeed, to reenter the British National Socialist scene that had, in truth, long since left him behind.

Far left, far right, far out

The British Labour Party has had its arse handed to it on a plate for the second time in a week: “Labour has suffered its worst post-war election result as it was beaten into third place by UKIP and saw the BNP gain its first seats at Brussels” (BBC, June 8, 2009). The Working Families Party secured 2,381,760 votes in the Euro election, or 15.7%, down 6.9%, as a result losing five seats (for a winning total of 13). Of 44,173,690 UK citizens registered to vote, only 15,136,932 bothered to show up, just over 1/3. In Europe as a whole, in addition to the UK, the far right made significant gains in some states, while losing influence in several others (Far right make gains in ten member states, Leigh Phillips, EUobserver, June 8, 2009), the election witnessing a record low turn-out of 43%:

In total, the far right is up eight seats on the 2004 European elections.

In Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania and the UK, the far right made moderate to significant advances.

However, the extreme right saw sharp declines in Belgium, and France, and were completely wiped out in Poland.

Presumably, the far right will now proceed to form a fascist bloc in the Parliament, following the abortion (January–November 2007) that was ‘Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty’. To do so, the fascists require 25 members from seven countries to participate. Among those who might qualify are: Freiheitliche Partei Österreichs, FPÖ (Freedom Party of Austria) in Austria (2), Национален съюз Атака / Natsionalen Sǎyuz Ataka (National Union Attack) in Bulgaria (2), Front national (National Front) in France (3), Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) in Belgium (2), Jobbik in Hungary (3), Partij voor de Vrijheid, PVV (Party for Freedom) in the Netherlands (4), Partidul România Mare, PRM (Greater Romania Party) in Romania (3), the BNP in the UK (2) and…

Oh.

Wait.

In the UK and Ireland, the (far) left made a few gains: in Dublin, the Socialist Party’s Joe Higgins has been bumped into Parliament, and er… the Socialist Labour Party (Arfur Scargill’s mob) got a total of 173,115 votes (1.1%), while between them the 8 candidates for the Socialist Party of Great Britain grabbed 4,050 votes. (Also in Ireland, ‘People Before Profit’ got five seats in local council elections.)

On a brighter note, Lord Toby Jug of The Official Monster Raving Loony Party beat the Labour Party in the St Ives ward of Cambridgeshire county council: Labour came sixth behind two Conservatives, two Liberal Democrats and Lord Jug.

Sweden also voted a pirate into Parliament.

Mr. Griffin Goes To Brussels

After having apparently been declared unfit for Australia, wealthy Welshman and fuehrer of the British National Party Nick Griffin has been elected to the European Parliament. (Also Andrew Brons, in the Yorkshire and Humber area.)

Griffin welcomed the victory as a vindication of the party’s claim that “we’re here to look after our people because no one else is”. He said that feelings were particularly strong in Yorkshire, where former pit communities felt “at the bottom of the heap”.

Pointing to other big rises in the BNP vote to 15% in Rotherham and nearly 12% in Doncaster, Griffin said: “This is ordinary decent people in Yorkshire kicking back against racism, because racism in this country is now directed overwhelmingly against people who look like me.”

Griffin, who had to reach Manchester town hall for his own count in a police van after anti-fascist demonstrators blocked his convoy and hurled eggs, said immigration had become harmful to Britain, particularly with the spread of radical Islam. “Take Bradford – it isn’t immigration that’s happening there, it’s colonialism,” he said.

Up to 36 reported killed in Amazon land protest

LIMA, Peru (AP) — Indians protesting government moves to develop oil, gas and other resources on their lands battled police in Peru’s Amazon on Friday, with authorities and Indian leaders separately reporting 11 police and 25 protester[‘]s deaths…

A few weeks ago, Amazon Indians declared that they were now insurgents… sorta. Actually, what they want — and the motivating force behind their quasi-insurgency — is the repeal of a new law (the so-called 1090 decree / ‘law of the jungle’) which, in accordance with a ‘free trade’ agreement, makes it easier for their lands to be confiscated and given over to corporations — “The protests, against decrees aligning Peruvian law with a free-trade deal with the United States, have affected production at oil wells owned by Argentina’s Pluspetrol, French-English Perenco, Petroperu and Talisman.”

Amazon Indians are bad for business.

The Peruvian government, on the other hand, loves business, and it appears that on Friday it ordered police to smash a roadblock on a highway (in the Bagua region of Amazonas province) established by indigenous groups engaged in various protest activities since April. In the process of doing so, police killed around two dozen indigenous protesters, while they themselves not only suffered a dozen or so casualties but had 38 officers taken hostage (Al Jazeera). Now (Sunday) it appears that at least 9 of these hostages were killed during the course of a rescue attempt, 22 being successfully freed while another 7 remain unaccounted for (BBC).

I smell another massacre.

BNP ~versus~ British voters

A massive collapse in the popular vote for the party of Labour / Working Families in English county council elections has resulted in heap ’em big gains for the Tories, but brings little joy for the British National Party. Latest figures suggest the fascist muppets have gained three seats (from a pool of over 400 candidates). The winners are: Deirdre Gates in South Oxhey, Hertfordshire; Sharon Wilkinson in Padiham & Burley West, Lancashire; and Graham Partner in Coalville, Leicestershire. Results in the Euro contest become available on Sunday.

In the land of clogs and windmills: “The party of the right-wing Dutch MP, Geert Wilders, has come second in the country’s elections for the European Parliament, partial results indicate. Mr Wilders, who is facing prosecution over anti-Islamic statements, said his Freedom Party (PVV) would get four of the 25 Dutch seats in the parliament…” (Dutch far right in poll triumph, BBC, June 5, 2009). Wilder’s victory will bring happy joy to lying yuppie hack (and ABC Board member) Janet Albrechtsen, who reckons young Muslim men rape ‘cos they’re Muslims. And ethnic…

Discussing race or ethnicity is neither racist nor xenophobic. Tackling problems head on can only encourage further immigration; ignoring them will be immigration’s death knell. Our tolerance of these Muslim pack-rapists simply feeds their intolerance of us. It took the French 20 years to work that out. How long will it take us?

A Preston man, seeking asylum in the United States after being convicted of hate speech crimes in the UK will be deported after nearly a year in US custody.

Stephen Whittle, 42, and Simon Sheppard, 52, of Selby, fled in July 2008 after being convicted of publishing hate speech against Jews and other groups on their website.

The men sought asylum under America’s free speech protections, claiming they were being persecuted for their right-wing views.

They were taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport when they asked a uniformed US official for help.

An immigration judge ordered that the men be deported to the UK to face justice, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Sheppard and Whittle fled the UK last July during a trial at Leeds Crown Court after being released on bail while the jury deliberated over further charges after convicting them on several counts.

Carol will be discussing her groundbreaking research, and presenting her acclaimed slide show The Sexual Poltics of Meat at a public lecture to be held on Thursday, July 23 @ 6.00pm @ Trades Hall.
