nutzis are W E I R D : Kyle Chapman. The Mormon.

“Two leading representatives of the New Zealand nationalist movement, Kyle Chapman and Col Ansell, stated that reports in Australia of actual disunity in the Kiwi scene were mis-statements of the manner in which different tactics were pursued by the respective organisations.” ~ Doctor James Saleam, Australia First Party, April 2, 2009

And how:

Kiwi nutzi Kyle Chapman is getting married.

Hurrah!

He’s also declared that, in walking down the aisle, he’ll be walking away from his previous roles as a fascist organiser. Kyle’s new fuehrer (and Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ Richard G. Scott) has declared that “much of the world is being engulfed in a rising river of degenerate filth”, so it’s just as well he’s getting hitched and heading for the hills.

“I still have concerns that all white people don’t have the same rights as some other people. But that’s irrelevant if we’re not finding a way of getting back to God.”

Hmmm.

A former bonehead, Kyle was known for his love of fire, pies, ambitious plans, and a chronic inability to spell. Until last week, Kyle was wearing three funny little hats marked ‘Nationalist Alliance’, ‘Right-Wing Resistance’ and ‘Survive Club’. On his little Club, Kyle wrote:

Our Plans are not only to hide in the bush in the case of a disaster. We are Patriots and will fight an aggressive force that attacks NZ as a guerrilla force. We seek warriors as well as those who can fix us up and feed us.

The fact is we probably would never hang any politicians, but the [sic] saying it helped us to thin down the recruitment pool enough to make it more manageable.

I personally don’t care what society thinks of me because I see most of them as being dead as soon as the shit hits the fan, so that makes their opinion of me or the club pretty irrelevant.

But of Kyle’s funny hats, ‘Right Wing Resistance’ wins the bizarro prize:

March 23, 2009: “This group is designed to be an effective Frontline group that will atract [sic] youth subcultures. We Expect to grow alot [sic] with the current financial situation.”

March 26, 2009: “We are not trying [sic] attract mainstream, this is an active org. Not a pretty one. This will be a shock and ore [sic] campaign, not a suck up to society and hope for the best. The amount [sic] of times we have tried the “good look” and failed is really pathetic. If someone can make the suit and tie thing work, good on them. In my 20 years experiance [sic], I have never ever seen it do anything. It does not sell papers so the media ignor [sic] it, and most of the people who would join it are scared of showing their face in public as a WN or anything remotly [sic] Right Wing.”

Best of all, RWR had its vewy own initiation ceremony. Dib dib dib!

“We are an organised united resistance movement against mass immigration, against the Delusions of our European Culture and pride…”

Awesome! A sword and everything!

Oh, and “Sorry, the blog at kylechapman.blogspot.com has been removed”.

National Front’s ex-leader marries Mormon
Waikato Times
May 2, 2009

The face of the white supremacy movement in New Zealand is walking away from rightwing groups and moving from Christchurch to marry a devout Christian woman in Hamilton.

Kyle Chapman, the former leader of the National Front, married Claire Clifford at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Tuhikaramea Rd, last night. The couple only saw each other in person for the first time in 3 1/2 years yesterday morning.

The couple will live on her lifestyle block on the outskirts of Hamilton, with Mr Chapman, who said he was an unwilling poster boy for right-wing extremism, committing to her Mormon faith.

The pair met in Christchurch nearly four years ago when Ms Clifford was on her Mormon mission. They lost contact over the past three years and met again on the social networking website Facebook a month ago. They spent 80 hours on the phone in two weeks, decided to marry and Mr Chapman flew into the city yesterday morning.

“I’m here because I want to have a nice peaceful life with Claire. She is an example of a righteous woman,” Mr Chapman said before the ceremony.

He was quitting his roles with the Nationalist Alliance and The Survive Club, and hoped the people of the Waikato would give him a chance.

But he’s not banking on it. He has fears for his and Claire’s safety and still holds some of the beliefs that made him a reviled figure. “A lot of people still have aggressive ideals towards me,” he said.

It’s little wonder. The 38-year-old father of five, to four different women including one ex-wife, is a former skinhead who was addicted to alcohol and drugs.

In his younger days in Invercargill he admitted to a series of arsons between 1987 and 1992, including fire-bombing a marae.

His time in the National Front gained him plenty of media coverage and notoriety, the most memorable incident a clash on the streets of Wellington where 50 of his supporters, many skinheads, got into a bloody battle with 800 marchers from the Multicultural Aotearoa rally.

He resigned as leader of the National Front in 2005, citing pressure on his children, who were being shunned at school. But he continued to lead far-right groups.

Only in January this year he revealed plans for a commune-style mini-state in North Canterbury for “like-minded Europeans” to have training areas for sport fighting, a protected community and gatherings for active nationalists.

Mr Chapman yesterday said that was likely to go ahead when enough money had been saved, but it would do so without him.

He wanted to focus on his marriage. “I intend to live a calm lifestyle; I can’t do that as the leader of anything.

“I’m about to move my whole life here. I’m about to walk away from a two-year contract in the middle of a recession. This is all based on faith.”

He had quit his job as a storeman at an electrical company in Christchurch and would look for work in Hamilton.

“I’ve found that the lifestyle many people live in the extreme right-wing movement is not what I want to live.”

He had made bids for Parliament and the Christchurch mayoralty, but said he had no Waikato political aspirations.

Mr Chapman, who has not drunk alcohol since he was 21, hoped his former supporters would understand.

“I’m the example of the Mormon who believes in the church but has been swayed away and has made mistakes.”

Some people would see him as a sellout. “Most of them will be happy for me though they’ll be bummed out I’m not with them. I love those guys, they are my brothers. This is no easy thing.”

Mr Chapman said his mother was a Mormon and he had gone back to religion before meeting Ms Clifford, 31, a private health worker.

Ms Clifford said church leaders were happy with her choice of husband. “They trust me, they’re really happy for me. We’ve (Kyle and her) prayed about it and it feels totally right.”

They were planning a family and intended serving a Mormon mission together.

Though Mr Chapman repeatedly said he had moderated and that extreme National Front policies like repatriation of Asians and Polynesians were the group’s, not his, he still had strong views.

”I still have concerns that all white people don’t have the same rights as some other people. But that’s irrelevant if we’re not finding a way of getting back to God.”

Doctor Fred(e)rick “wilfully and contumaciously” Toben

Poor old Uncle Fred. (Töben.) A man interested only, purely and simply in Fighting For Truth in History, the wicked ZOG is once again trying to stifle his attempts to revolutionise the study of Nazism and WWII. Fortunately, Uncle Fred is made of sterner stuff. “If you believe in something and you want to have that freedom to express your opinions then you should be prepared for sacrifices,” he said on April 16.

Uncle Fred’s comment came after Herr Doktor was found guilty of 24 (of 28) counts of contempt of court (Jones v Toben (Corrigendum dated 20 April 2009) [2009] FCA 354 (16 April 2009)). Uncle Fred originally expressed his contempt for the court after having been introduced to it by former Executive Council of Australian Jewry president Jeremy Jones, using laws under the federal Racial Discrimination Act. This action resulted in a 2002 court order on Fred, barring him from saying silly things about the Holocaust and The Jew on his website ‘The Adelaide Institute’.

As a result of the most recent court ruling, Herr Doktor has declared that while he will consider being more respectful in future, he would rather go to jail than pay a fine (if the court orders him to do so). Meaning that Lady Susan Michele Mainwairing Renouf Et Cetera should probably be ordering the servants to practice their cake-baking skills. In the meantime, “ADELAIDE INSTITUTE IS HAVING A LITTLE REST on account of management change”, presumably while Uncle Fred drowns his sorrows with fellow Holocaust denialist / ‘anarchist’ / Volksfront Australia representative Welf Herfurth.

International Day of Mourning

The International Day of Mourning is April 28. Originating in Canada almost 20 years ago, it commemorates workers who have been killed or injured on the job; to “mourn for the dead and fight for the living”.

Australian construction unions commemorate International Day of Mourning.
Music: Kevin McLeod

Each year over 140,000 Australians are seriously injured at work, more than 250 are killed and it is estimated that over 2000 die as a result of work-related disease. The social and economic costs are immense — as is the contribution of all this activity to the size of The Economy (which is really the most important thing for Working Families).

Union cash threat in bid to muzzle building watchdog
Lauren Wilson
The Australian
April 29, 2009

CONSTRUCTION unions yesterday began a ramped-up industrial campaign against the Australian Building and Construction Commission that could see political donations to ALP candidates who support the industry watchdog cut off.

On what was labelled an international day of mourning for lives lost on building sites, workers across the country stopped work and observed a minute’s silence in honour of lost colleagues.

More than 10,000 union members and supporters in Melbourne marched from Victoria’s Trades Hall to the offices of the Master Builders Association, while thousands more workers gathered in other capital cities…

In Victoria, the national secretary of the construction arm of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, Dave Noonan… said the CFMEU — which gave “appropriate and disclosed” financial donations to some ALP candidates in 2007 — might review its donation policy before the next federal election…

Hmmm. In FY2007/08, the CFMEU Mining & Energy Division donated $700,000 to the Federal ALP; the Maritime Union of Australia (Sydney Branch) $500,000; and the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union $270,000. In Victoria, in FY2007/08, the Victorian branch of the ALP received $112,647.46 from the CFMEU Construction & General Division.

Unionists protest over pay dispute
Reko Rennie
The Age
April 29, 2009

Around 500 unionists have gathered near Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge to protest over a long-running dispute with engineering firm John Holland…

John Holland donated $50,000 to the Federal Tory Party in December 2007, a measly $7,772.73 to the Federal ALP in September 2007, but gave nothing to the Victorian ALP.

Dunno… but maybe the money could be better spent. As for workplace safety, the swiftest means of improving it would be to introduce better legislation; that is, imposing harsh penalties, including jail terms, on bosses who fail to provide safe workplaces and whose negligence results in serious injury or death.

Of course, legislation is one thing; enforcement, another.

White With Fear: Flagging a New Hate [Part Two]

From Cronulla the plan was to take the train west — to Lakemba, to Liverpool — to interview young men of Lebanese descent, Muslim men, about their take on nationalism. Unfortunately, all requests for an interview were declined, albeit politely. I detect a feeling of exasperation towards a media they see as roundly unsympathetic.

One reticent youth, Ali, from the Lebanese Moslem Association, tells me over the phone that the idea of nationalism is alien to the values of Islam. “We don’t believe in it, in waving flags or this allegiance to a country or to a Prime Minister”, he says in a timid Australian drawl. “For us, we believe in one thing only — Allah.”

Herein may lay the problem — if there’s a new whipping boy, it’s Islam. The bombings in Bali, the terror of rapist Bilal Skaf, the sermons of Sheikh al Hilaly, all have worked to stoke the nationalists’ ire. But is there a problem at all? Full-scale riots in beachside suburbs aside (and it’s worth noting Australian beach culture has a history of tribalism), is there any real harm in nationalism, particularly the iconographic style: the flags, the tattoos, the car bumper stickers? After all, many of us identify as nationalists, or patriots at least. We cheer our Olympians, wave the national colours at the cricket and get all puffy-chested on Anzac Day.

Is it merely a case of harmless pride in being Aussie? Or is it more sinister? A kind of politically-correct racism that no longer says: “You’re not welcome”, but rather: “We’re better than you”.

Either way, there’s certainly a new fear. And the new breeding ground is cyberspace. A simple Google search uncovers a trove of right-skewed, nationalist, pro-white sites. Many, as you’d expect, are quite inflammatory and all done under this idea of “free speech”. Most are blogs, written under pseudonyms with no contact details. There’s a wide-held distrust of the media, who are viewed as leftie-sympathisers and pro-migration; which, as you can imagine, makes interviewing these bloggers difficult.

These furtive groups were thrown into the spotlight last December with the shooting death of 15-year-old Melbourne teenager Tyler Cassidy. Three policemen killed Cassidy after he bailed them up with a knife in the northern suburb of Northcote. Rather than acknowledge the mixed-up kid he was, the media instead latched onto his membership of the Southern Cross Soldiers (SCS), a nationalist youth group that is widely described as violently pro-white.

The group has virtually no structure, making it hard to find anyone willing to act as a mouthpiece. Using the social networking sites I track down one member willing to be interviewed. He’s a 16-year-old from Melbourne, a mere foot soldier, who will only talk under the moniker “Nova1”. He tells me there’s been an enormous interest in the group following Cassidy’s death. “He was just a fucked up kid, he was depressed”, he says of the shooting. “It had nothing to do with SCS or him being a white supremacist. The media want to paint us that, but we’re not.”

So what are they?

“We’re nationalists, we’re proud Australians. We like Australia the way it is. You’ve got all these Lebanese groups, these clerics, promoting hatred against Australians; well we’re saying enough is enough… why are these people here? These Muslim rapists, their violence; that idiot Sheikh al Hilaly, spouting his nonsense; disrespecting women; who’s keeping these people in check? They wanted to plant bombs at the AFL grand final. They’re animals, no better than dogs.”

He tells me the SCS’ job is to “keep these people in check because the politicians have failed”, although he can’t expand further when I ask him what that may actually entail.

Of the flags and the tattoos he says: “We love our country, so what! Everyone’s so hell bent on embracing immigrants that if you show any pride in Australia you’re called a racist. Yes, there is a real fear that the people who come to the country disrespect the country.

“Journalists want to portray the SCS as Nazis, as white supremacists, they want to spread this fear to sell their newspapers, they want everyone to believe we’re violent, we’re hell-bent on another ‘Cronulla’. It’s crap — they’ve never even bothered to interview us, to hear our side.

“But I tell you we’re growing, a lot of people now feel this way. I guess you can hide your head in the sand if you want to, or you can open your eyes that migration is the problem.”

If nationalism is on the rise, then it’s all being done under the shadow of the Australian flag. Which in many ways is odd. Australians aren’t great flag-wavers. We’re often embarrassed by our kitschy national symbols. At last count, 40 per cent wanted the flag changed. Few of us know the words to the anthem.

But white Australians have had a troubled history with any new migrant. Take the anti-Chinese riots in the Goldfields in the 1850s, the White Australia Policy that dominated our immigration for two-thirds of the 20th century, to Pauline Hanson’s One Nation a decade ago.

Why it’s happening now may be less clear than in the past — who’s doing it is easier to define. They’re white, middle-class and young.

When three blonde teenagers were photographed at Sydney’s Manly Beach on Australia Day, draped in the flag, FUCK OFF WE’RE FULL inked across their stomachs, it caused a predictable shit storm. The three, all from well-to-do backgrounds, defended their action as harmless because it wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular.

When a Darwin store stocked Australia Day T-shirts with the slogan THIS IS AUSTRALIA. WE EAT MEAT, WE DRINK BEER AND WE SPEAK FUCKING ENGLISH customers queued around the corner to get one. Following bad behaviour by flag-clad thugs during Australia Day celebrations on the Gold Coast, one of the area’s largest RSLs promptly banned all young people from its Anzac Day service.

In an essay published a few days later in The Sydney Morning Herald, writer John Huxley argued the flag had somehow morphed into a kind of weapon — the very thing intended to unite us was doing the opposite. However, Huxley also argued it was the thugs and not the flag that needed curtailing, and cited Big Day Out organisers’ misguided attempts to ban the flag in 2007. Put simply, when Stephanie Rice drapes herself in the national colours it’s a symbol of chest-beating pride — when Pauline Hanson does, it’s hatred and derision.

Professor John Stratton is head of cultural studies at Perth’s Curtin University and is a specialist in race, multiculturalism and youth culture. He doesn’t believe we’re seeing a new rise of nationalist fervour. Rather, Stratton argues, pride in the flag, a white nervousness, fear of immigrants, has existed in Australia since time immemorial. “Australians don’t like migrants, never have”, Stratton says. “They don’t welcome them easily, there’s this constant debate about how many migrants come to the country, whether we can support them, whether they’re the right sort of migrant. Ever since the White Australia Policy became one of the first acts of Parliament as far back as 1901 we’ve been totally preoccupied about who comes in the country.”

In the past, Stratton argues, this xenophobia would’ve manifested itself in direct attacks on new arrivals. However in these more politically correct climes, the 2009 version has moved from shouting down immigrants to shouting up the Anglo-Australian culture. No one likes being called a racist. A patriot is entirely different.

Stratton also singles out the policies of the Howard government that turned back asylum seekers, interned refugees and gave us a “War on Terror”. He believes this created cultural dread that anyone who came to this country was out to do us harm. Not that he paints Howard a racist, merely a shrewd politician who cannily exploited the fears of the electorate.

“You only need turn on the news to see the world’s a disaster”, he says. “Look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza, Zimbabwe, there’s wars in the Congo, Africa’s got deep problems. Then there’s this huge financial crisis and what that will do will increase unemployment, there’ll be even more of this nationalism, this attitude of, ‘We don’t want these migrants coming here and taking our jobs’.”

Leon ‘Cookie’ Trotsky

Hmmm.

According to the Cultural Coordinator @ the Leon Trotsky Museum, the story about the theft of Leon Trotsky’s ashes is false, and the ashes remain safe in his mausoleum, in the museum that bears his name in Coyoacán in Mexico City.

antifa notes

A bonehead in Odessa, Russia is dead after he and his 14 mates picked a fight with 5 antifa. Russian state media reports that the great majority of the boneheads, seemingly ever-patient and self-controlled, stood for hours as the five anti-fascist activists baited and yelled, shoved and provoked. A handful of boneheads used well-placed elbows while bottles were thrown only in response to vandalism…

On the 17th of April in Odessa 15 nazi-skinheads with the use of bottles and rocks attacked 5 members of the anti-fascist movement. Nazis ran up to the antifascists sitting on a bench near the “Orech” club and started shouting [threats] and Nazi slogans and started fighting. Earlier activists of «antifa» were often threatened by nazi-skinheads; anti-fascists were victims of nazi-attacks. Therefor they realized that any conflict provoked by nazis could be fatal. Protecting their lives “antifa” had to use a pen-knife (means of self-protection not prohibited by the law). Nazi-skinhead Maksim Chaika was wounded. He did not get proper medical aid and died. If the antifascists had not [fought] back protecting themselves they would have been in morgue. Ultrarights try to make benefit of the [incident] by [falsely] presenting the facts and cynically lying to the [public].

Ultraright propagandists declare that killing had political subtext. Actually 5 antifa had to resist 15 aggressive nazi-skinhead attack. The police confirm the fixed number of antifascists. Nazis are truing to present Maksim Chaika as a victim however it was him and his friends who started the fighting.

It is well known that Chaika himself and another Odessa nazis often threatened antifa activists. Were collecting info even addresses and made attacks [on] antifascists. Naturally nazis can reject unfavorable facts replacing them with their own falsification.

Mass-media also reproduce the myth that Maksim Chaika was an activist [in a] “patriotic organization”. [See : Ultra right-wing group asks Ukraine’s law enforcement to be impartial while investigating murder of nationalist in Odesa, Interfax-Ukraine, April 21, 2009.] It is well known that the social organization “’Sich” is a nazi-skinhead organization who were make onslaughts on racism basics. Criminal reports from all Ukraine have more and more facts about killings on racism basics. People who perform disagreement with anti-human ideology of nazism take even bigger risk to fall victims of the street terror.

Bands of neo-nazis do not keep in secret they are planning to revenge — we can see this info online: “We must do everything possible that the least of our blood to be shed and the most blood to be shed by the enemy. Our enemies should be killed first then our losses would be minimal”…

We – the activists of antifascist movement – express our sincere condolences to Maksim Chaika’s family and relatives. Those who make fools of young people with neo-nazi ideology and trend to gain money, power and glory are really guilty of Maksim Chaika’s death.

We demand from Odessa police comprehensive investigation of the incident and the conformation of the fact of necessary self-protection on the part of antifa.

We demand from all mass-media to resist all the provocations and to objectively present the event because the destinies of antifascists who are involved in this incident depends on this. More than this mass-media should oppose attends of definite political forces to cash on Maksim Chaika’s death.

Elsewhere in Russia (I should really go live there if I’m so in love with the place eh?) local anti-fascist activist Aleksei Olesinov received a one-year prison sentence after being found guilty of having incited a fight. Russian authorities cleverly avoided sentencing Aleksei on Hitler’s birthday, and also won a big fat prize after arresting and beating a number of people protesting on Aleksei’s behalf. Curiously, as of April 21 Aleksei was being held in the same prison, Butyrka (Butyrki), where Nestor Makhno spent a decade behind bars.

…The downfall of Makhno marked the beginning of the end for Russian anarchism. Three months later, in February 1921, the movement suffered another major blow when Peter Kropotkin, nearly eighty years old, fell ill with pneumonia and died. Kropotkin’s family declined Lenin’s offer of a state burial, and a committee of anarchists was set up to arrange a funeral. Lev Kamenev, Chairman of the Moscow Soviet, allowed a handful of imprisoned anarchists a day’s liberty to take part in the procession. Braving the bitter cold of the Moscow winter, 20,000 marched in the cortege to the Novodevichii Monastery, the burial place of Kropotkin’s princely ancestors. They carried placards and black banners bearing demands for the release of all anarchists from prison and such mottoes as “Where there is authority there is no freedom” and “The liberation of the working class is the task of the workers themselves.” A chorus chanted Eternal Memory. As the procession passed the Butyrki prison, inmates shook the bars on their windows and sang an anarchist hymn to the dead. Emma Goldman spoke at Kropotkin’s graveside, and students and workers placed flowers by his tomb. Kropotkin’s birthplace, a large house in the old aristocratic quarter of Moscow, was turned over to his wife and comrades to be used as a museum for his books, papers, and personal belongings. Supervised by a committee of scholarly anarchists, it was maintained by contributions from friends and admirers throughout the world.

Over the weekend, in Ljubljana (Slovenia) in the former Yugoslavia, anarchist troublemakers from Austria, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia came together in solidarity: ‘Everywhere we are faced with a resurgence of fascism; sometimes it comes without disguise, while in other cases it is incorporated into the agenda of mainstream politics. As anarchists we understand that fascism is a defense mechanism of the state and capital to secure their survival. In time of one of capitalism’s inherent crisis, we already see this happening. We feel obliged to take part in the antifascist struggle, yet we also understand it as a necessary part of the struggle against capitalism. We have no sympathies for the liberal lamentations on racism and exclusion, whose only political mission is the reaffirmation of foundations of the future exploitation and discrimination…” (See also : Official Statement of the Front for Freedom of the World.)

In Australia, ‘Melbourne Dumb Punx’ and ‘Skin Heads Neither For Nor Against Racial Prejudice’ have issued a joint statement condemning participation by punks and skinheads in any activity other than posing for one another. And shopping. In addition, local scholars have angrily denounced Russian academic Boris Kagarlitsky for his scare-mongering, declaring that, ‘if he is so interested in Russia’, he too should ‘go live there’. One especially angry intellectual declared that “As I stated on the Bombshell forum Boris, you are a liar, a hypocrite and no better than the trash that you fight against”.

The Unknown War
Boris Kagarlitsky
Moscow Times
April 2, 2009

While economists debate whether the economic crisis has bottomed out yet and celebrities throw gaudy evening bashes and ordinary citizens count their shrinking incomes, there is a quiet but grim war taking place on the streets. Bands of fascists and anti-fascists are pitched in a brutal struggle that is rarely mentioned in public or in the mass media.

For some months now, fascist gangs have been attacking foreigners, minorities and immigrant workers, killing several people every month. Even members of anti-fascist organizations are counted among the murder victims. The anti-fascists are fighting back as their movement becomes increasingly large. It is worth noting that not a single murder has been attributed to the anti-fascist youth: Although they are also becoming more violent, there are limits to what they will do.

Meanwhile, ultraright radicals have gained unexpected allies among the authorities. As proof, the case against anti-fascist Alexei Olesinov, accused of hooliganism, has been needlessly dragging on for months. The case does not look very convincing. The “victim” never appeared in court, but the authorities continue to hold Olesinov in pretrial detention. In fact, he fell ill as a result of being incarcerated in a cold, damp cell with heavy smokers suffering from tuberculosis, and at the last court hearing Olesinov required emergency medical attention before the proceedings could continue.

Law enforcement authorities have shown little willingness to solve the murders of anti-fascists such as Alexander Rukhin, Stanislav Korepanov and many others. Lawyer Stanislav Markelov, who had represented a number of politically left-leaning defendants, and who had won favorable court rulings, was killed in January in Moscow.

At best, the authorities label both the radical aggressors and those who defend themselves as hooligans. An incident in which a bomb was placed under the door of an Armenian family was listed as “property damage,” even though a policeman was injured while diffusing the device. Authorities turn a blind eye to “pranks” such as the posting of Nazi symbols, minor public disturbances organized by hate groups and the shouting of insults at minorities. Regarding the fascist literature that can be purchased at practically every book kiosk in Moscow, the tolerance shown by authorities is simply touching. In contrast to Germany, where punishment is guaranteed for authors and distributors of similar publications, in today’s Russia, Nazi propaganda faces almost no limitations.

What’s more, authorities put up almost no resistance to Nazi rallies, but radical anti-fascists regularly encounter delays and bans. The latest such incident took place recently at the Plan B club in Moscow, where a concert was planned with the U.S. group Strike Anywhere, famous for its radical leftist views. Police cordoned off the club and conducted a search. More than 500 people, many of whom had simply come to hear the music, had to stand out in the cold to wait for the search to end.

For the sake of objectivity, it should be acknowledged that in recent months law enforcement agencies have stepped up their activity against neo-Nazi groups. Several prominent cases were solved, although in one bizarre incident, a suspect under arrest was able to elude his guards and escape during a re-enactment of the crime.

The deeper the economic crisis becomes, the more the authorities try to suppress any public disturbances by the uncontrollable elements of society. The question is: Is Russian society capable of determining who actually represents a threat to the public weal, and who does not?

Boris Kagarlitsky is the director of the Institute of Globalization Studies.

Is Russian society capable of determining who actually represents a threat to the public weal, and who does not? Good little punks know that such questions are best left to the authorities to resolve.

It’s just his neurosis that oughta be curbed.
He’s psychologic’ly disturbed!

ACTION
I’m disturbed!

JETS
We’re disturbed, we’re disturbed,
We’re the most disturbed,
Like we’re psychologic’ly disturbed.

DIESEL (Spoken, as Judge) In the opinion on this court, this child is depraved on account he ain’t had a normal home.
ACTION (Spoken) Hey, I’m depraved on account I’m deprived.
DIESEL (Spoken) So take him to a headshrinker.

ACTION (Sings)
My father is a bastard,
My ma’s an S.O.B.
My grandpa’s always plastered,
My grandma pushes tea.
My sister wears a mustache,
My brother wears a dress.
Goodness gracious, that’s why I’m a mess!

A-RAB (As Psychiatrist) Yes!

Officer Luke, you’re really a slob.
This boy don’t need a doctor, just a good honest job.
Society’s played him a terrible trick,
And sociologic’ly he’s sick!

ACTION
I am sick!

ALL
We are sick, we are sick,
We are sick, sick, sick,
Like we’re sociologically sick!

A-RAB In my opinion, this child don’t need to have his head shrunk at all. Juvenile delinquency is purely a social disease!
ACTION Hey, I got a social disease!
A-RAB So take him to a social worker!

ACTION
Dear kindly social worker,
They say go earn a buck.
Like be a soda jerker,
Which means like be a schmuck.
It’s not I’m anti-social,
I’m only anti-work.
Gloryosky! That’s why I’m a jerk!

BABY JOHN (As Female Social Worker) Eek!

Officer Luke, you’ve done it again.
This boy don’t need a job, he needs a year in the pen.
It ain’t just a question of misunderstood;
Deep down inside him, he’s no good!

ACTION
I’m no good!

ALL
We’re no good, we’re no good!
We’re no earthly good,
Like the best of us is no damn good!

DIESEL (As Judge) The trouble is he’s crazy.
A-RAB (As Psychiatrist) The trouble is he drinks.
BABY JOHN (As Female Social Worker) The trouble is he’s lazy.
DIESEL The trouble is he stinks.
A-RAB The trouble is he’s growing.
BABY JOHN The trouble is he’s grown.

ALL
Luke, we got troubles of our own!

Gee, Officer Luke,
We’re down on our knees,
‘Cause no one wants a fellow with a social disease.
Gee, Officer Luke,
What are we to do?
Gee, Officer Luke,
Luke you!

Jew-hatin’ Duke arrested in Prague

Update : Boofhead has been released by Czech police and told to leave the country.

Leading anti-Semite, Stormfront ideologue, and former Grand Poobah of the KKK David Duke has undergone a re-awakening in the Czech Republic. Invited to talk shit by local nutzis belonging to ‘National Resistance’ (Narodni Odpor), The Duke got himself arrest by Czech police.

Ex-Louisiana KKK chief arrested in Prague: police

PRAGUE (AFP) — A former US Ku Klux Klan chief was arrested Friday in a Prague restaurant while he was on a speaking tour here, Czech police said.

Former Grand Wizard of the Louisiana-founded Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, was arrested on suspicion of promoting movements seeking the suppression of human rights, police spokesman Jan Mikulovsky told local media.

The arrest, in a tourist area of picturesque old Prague, took place in “quite confused” circumstances, said David Janda, the head of an anti-extremism unit of the city’s police force.

Janda said Duke — who had been due to give three lectures in the Czech Republic — was guarded at the restaurant’s entrance by militants belonging to a known far-right group “Narodni Odpor,” which means national resistance.

Duke, a US citizen, is suspected of denying or approving of the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes, according to the CTK news agency. This crime is punishable by up to three years in prison in the Czech Republic.

Czech Interior Minister Ivan Langer and Human Rights and Minorities Minister Michael Kocab had each expressed disapproval of the visit earlier in the week.

The Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1866 by a group of US Civil War veterans from the defeated Confederacy, a group of southern states that upheld slavery and maintained African Americans were inferior to whites.

It is notorious the world over for terrorising black Americans through lynchings, cross burnings and other hate crimes.

The group enjoyed a peak membership of about five million in 1925, including politicians and even a member of the US Supreme Court.

But the Klan went into virtual bankruptcy as early as the late 1920s and since the late 1970s, its membership has varied between 3,000 and 6,000.

Prior to this incident, on April 21, the nutzi Resistance enjoyed taking part in a jackboot parade — protected by Czech police — through the towns of Ústí nad Labem and Krupka in order to demonstrate their desire to rid the Republic of Roma (‘Gypsies’) (Online: The Neo-Nazi march is over, police took harsh action only against the anti-fascists, Romano Vodi). See also : Czech Republic becoming a paradise for racists and neo-Nazis, former Ku Klux Klan head to visit, April 10.

The nutzi Resistance, along with other far right groupings such as the Workers Party and Free Youth Brno, is also planning on holding a rally and march on May Day in the Moravian capital of Brno. In the meantime, Czech Antifascist Action (AFA) are busy preparing for a May Day Festival Against Racism.

With the actual name May Day, we want to take up the tradition of 1st May again. This tradition devise to anarchist movement of the end of 19th century. May Day is a reminder of the fact that there are not many things for free in this world and that most of the things we take for granted had to be fought for in the past. The idea of free and equal society is also still inspiring.

Even though 1st May was depreciated by fascist or nazi regimes or the catholic church during the last century, its tradition of the fight for social equity is still viable far behind the borders of the western Europe. 40 years of Bolshevistic regime stigmatized 1st May in the Czechoslovakia as well.

It is characteristic that there’s been another battle over this date in Czech rep. since the 1990s. The neo-nazi groups are the loudest in attempts to usurp 1st May, and on this date, part of the society (often called anarchistic) is protesting against these neo-nazi attempts. Usually, the protesting part of society consist of young people who live their lives actively and who refuse to be a passive stand-byers in the machinery of capitalism. Nowadays, under pressure of the fall of neo-liberal paradise, it is becoming more common to hear that reckless race for economic growth is not the almighty god and the inspiration by anarchist ideals is becoming a natural thing.

The 2009 May Day festival would like to contribute to determination and positive social changes.

In our eyes, May Day is mainly a festival of all the open-minded people. The event is prepared on voluntary basis again, therefore the entrance is free.

AFA in the Czech Republic

Antifascist Action (AFA) – by all means, together against fascism!

Antifascist Action is focused on promotional, informational and practical ways of struggle with all authoritian ideologies and groups which promote any kind of oppression, particularly against neo-Nazism and right-wing radicals.

AFA is open to everybody who wants to take an active part in the struggle against fascism, Nazism and Bolshevism in all their forms — even if anti-fascism is considered ‘extremism’ by some. In the same way, we are not satisfied with the current system, which assumes more control over peoples lives, destroys nature, and entrenches social and economic inequalities.

AFA is an association of radical antifascists, who create local autonomous groups around the whole Czech Republic. Antifascists are mainly involved in their local groups. At the same time, these local groups are voluntarily joined together in federative structures according to area or type of activities. The internal structures of autonomous groups are based on the natural equality of all of their members, without artificial authorities or leaders.

AFA does not cooperate with the state authorities, political parties and repressive units. There is cooperation only with groups and individuals, whose activities are not in contradiction with our principles and objectives.

If you share our principles, join Antifascist Action!

Dirka Dirka! Durban! Hate-fest! Racism!

The Durban Review Conference / Festival of Hate Against Israel and the West (April 20–24, 2009) done come and gone… more or less. It took place without the participation of a number of member states, chief among them the United. On the eve of the conference on April 19 the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay expressed “shock” at this decision — why, I dunno.

The US statement cites, as its main stumbling block, the current text’s reaffirmation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA), the outcome document agreed by consensus at the end of the 2001 World Summit against Racism in Durban, South Africa – but not agreed by the US or Israel which had both left the Conference before it reached its conclusion.

The Australian Government — which continues to function under KRudd, as it did under HoWARd, as the US’ deputy sheriff in South-East Asia and the world stage — also decided to boycott the event. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Stephen Smith, April 19:

…Australia, however, cannot support a document which reaffirms the 2001 Durban Declaration and Program of Action in its entirety – as is currently the case. The 2001 Declaration singled out Israel and the Middle East. Australia expressed strong concerns about this at the time. The Australian Government continues to have these concerns. Regrettably, we cannot be confident that the Review Conference will not again be used as a platform to air offensive views, including anti-Semitic views.

Of additional concern are the suggestions of some delegations in the Durban process to limit the universal right to free speech.

In recent weeks, I have spoken to a number of my foreign ministerial colleagues who share these concerns about the process. Canada (January 23, 2008), Israel, Italy and the United States have already indicated that they will not participate.

As noted by Smith, other states to boycott the event include Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand/Aotearoa, Poland, Sweden and, of course, Israel. Ten states in total (including Australia and the US).

The KRudd Government’s decision to boycott the conference was applauded by Zionist groups in Australia, and criticised by others: see, for example, Opportunity to end racism goes to waste, John Langmore, The Age, April 21; Rudd UN boycott a ‘lost chance’ to fight racism, Daniel Flitton, The Age, April 23.

One of the main arguments put forward as to why UN member states should boycott the event is based on the characterisation of the Durban conference in 2001 as an ‘anti-Semitic hatefest’ (Greg Sheridan in The Australian: “It degenerated into a vile and hateful anti-Semtitic jamboree.”). This appears to be quite wrong, a fact pointed out on December 12, 2008 by Rupert Colville, Spokesperson of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, partly in response to an earlier editorial in The Australian:

A Google search on 10 December, using “fest” in conjunction with ‘Durban’ and ‘hate’ or ‘anti-Semitic,’ produced 49,900 web-page hits.* “Hate-fest” is not a common phrase, but it has been used in connection with the Durban process by people ranging from the Canadian Prime Minister to other politicians, academics, journalists, anti-Durban NGOs and a huge number of bloggers and other commentators.

The 2001 World Conference was indeed marred by the grotesque behaviour of some anti-Israel NGOs at the parallel NGO forum. Their inexcusable anti-Semitic actions, coupled with some difficult debates at the state level, have unfortunately cast the entire 2001 Conference and next year’s review in a negative light that is, by and large, unmerited.

Next year’s conference will focus on the 2001 outcome document, known as the Durban Declaration and Plan of Action (DDPA), which was adopted by consensus at the end of the 2001 World Conference. The DDPA consists of 341 paragraphs, of which six refer to the Middle East, anti-Semitism and directly related issues.

The first of those says: “We recall that the Holocaust must never be forgotten.” The second says “We recognize with deep concern the increase in anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in various parts of the world, as well as the emergence of racial and violent movements based on racism and discriminatory ideas against Jewish, Muslim and Arab communities.”

The remaining four paragraphs include references to “the plight of the Palestinian people” and “the right to security for all States in the region, including Israel,” as well as calling upon “Israel and the Palestinians to resume the peace process, and to develop and prosper in security and freedom.”

The contents of the DDPA were agreed by all the states present at the end of the 2001 conference. It is a fundamental, thorough and very wide-ranging framework document on racism and related issues. It takes a vivid imagination to turn it into the manifesto of a “hate-fest.”

At the conference itself, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave a ‘controversial’ speech, in the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate, and in which the war hero with a wonky leg denounced Zionism and Security Council support for Israel (“the most cruel and repressive racist regime”), provided a potted history of Western imperialism, blamed Zionists for the US invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, and opined that:

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, the true root of racism is the lack of human understanding as God’s chosen creatures and deviation from the true path of human life and human missions in creation. Due to negligence in worshipping God with awareness and pondering on the philosophy of life and the path towards human perfection – which leads to the natural outcome of being committed to divine values and mankind – the horizon of human insight has declined. And limited and temporary interests became the criteria of evaluation and actions by human beings. Therefore, the seeds of evil power took their shape and by neglecting fair chances for others’ growth, it added to the boundaries of its development.

And so on: the President made no reference to racism inside Iran, which I can therefore only assume does not exist.

A few comments:

The campaign to boycott the event was about as successful as it was ever going to be. Israel, the United States, and a handful of their international allies did not attend: scores of other states did send delegates, as did many NGOs.

All this fuss over God & the State naturally brought to mind dead Russian anarchist Mikhail Bakunin. In addition to expressing vile anti-Semitism, Bakunin also had some more interesting thoughts on this subject. Contra Ahmadinejad, Bakunin wrote “All religions, with their gods, their demi-gods, and their prophets, their messiahs and their saints, were created by the prejudiced fancy of men who had not attained the full development and full possession of their faculties”; “In a word, we reject all legislation, all authority, and all privileged, licensed, official, and legal influence, even though arising from universal suffrage, convinced that it can turn only to the advantage of a dominant minority of exploiters against the interest of the immense majority in subjection to them. This is the sense in which we are really Anarchists.”

Notwithstanding the boycott by Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and, the United States, the outcome document of the Durban Review Conference was adopted by consensus on April 21 [PDF]. It makes no reference to Israel or the Middle East.

The response of Zionists and other critics of Durban II are surveyed by the blog ‘Muzzlewatch’; Australian blogger Antony Lowenstein also has some comments; while the Israeli group Gush Shalom issued the following statement:

Iranian Farce and Israeli grotesque
April 20, 2009

A conference against racism attended by Iranian President Ahmedinajad is a farce – but the campaign against this conference, conducted by Israeli Foreign Minister Lieberman, is grotesque. Ahmedinajad and Lieberman are twins, perfectly fit for each other’s company, both of whom built a political career upon the dissemination of hatred, the constant issuing of inflammatory racist statements designed to arouse the darkest of passions. The Netanyahu-Lieberman government is completely unable to respectably represent Israel in the international arena and defend the country’s most basic interests.

Argentine police arrest 36 boneheads belonging to Blood and Honour

Silly old boneheads!

36 of the short-haired losers got themselves arrest in Buenos Aires while celebrating the recent birthday of a dead, incestuous, coprophiliac, foreign dictator (see below).

In Perth (most likely a scout hall in some rural location) this Saturday April 25, the local, Australian franchise of Blood & Honour will be celebrating the deaths of Australian and New Zealand soldiers in WWII. Meanwhile, in their spiritual homeland of Germany, ‘Neo-Nazi crimes in Germany soared last year by 16 per cent, according to new government figures’ (Allan Hall, The Daily Telegraph, April 22, 2009). Finally, the struggle for justice for Nicole Hanley goes from strength-to-strength, as over two dozen nutzis — including Derrick McThomas, Alex Fogerty, Nathan Clarke (Australia First Party), Dr James Saleam (AF) and Jim Perren (AF) — sign their names to a rather poorly-worded petition appealing to French TNC Thales to reinstate her post-haste.

D’oh!

BUENOS AIRES (AFP) — Argentine police arrested 36 boneheads at an event celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, officials told AFP on Wednesday.

The Sunday arrests came after a “prolonged and meticulous investigation,” said Daniel Perez, the second in command of the Federal Police unit in charge of investigating hate crimes.

Police broke into the Central Argentine Club, in the town of San Martin, in Buenos Aires province, while a recital [?!?] was being held by the local chapter of the neo-Nazi group “Blood and Honour,” Perez said.

Police found Nazi-related material, including flags with swastikas, films and CDs of music with racist and anti-semitic lyrics, Perez said.

“Blood and Honour,” which is based in Britain, has chapters across Europe and the Americas and is aimed at promoting Nazi ideology.

The arrests are “an important success in the struggle to eradicate these groups of Nazi ideology that are a threat to Argentine society,” the Delegation of Israeli Associations in Argentina said in a statement.

Argentina has the largest Jewish community in Latin America.

Two deadly anti-Jewish attacks were carried out in Buenos Aires in the past years: the 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy of Israeli that killed 22 and wounded 200, and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center that killed 85 and wounded 300.
