It is not news to report that the Bolsheviks destroyed the anarchist movement in the Soviet Union. But how, and what were the consequences? These reprinted bulletins from the Joint Committee for the Defense of Revolutionists Imprisoned in Russia and the Relief Fund of the International Working Men’s Association for Anarchists and Anarcho-Syndicalists Imprisoned or Exiled in Russia show it as it happened. They ‘shed a little light on the struggles of our comrades and keep their names alive’ (p.x)…

State/Politics / Trot Guide

Another call for unity on the left, this time by SA in Victoria (‘Socialism of the 21st century’ and left unity): “In Victoria this year we will most likely have both federal and state elections. It would be a real step forward if all socialist groups publicly supported the candidates of other socialist organisations (Socialist Alliance, Socialist Party, Revolutionary Socialist Party and Communist Party of Australia) and advocated a first-preference vote for them.”

The Socialist Equality Party — the Australian section of the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI), the world party of socialist revolution — is not included in this list, probably not without reason, as the SEP only make reference to the SA in order to denounce it, whereas the SA do what most everybody else does with regards the SEP, and ignore it.

    Links — which is published by SA nee DSP — has published a statement by COSATU on “the brutal murder of Eugene Terre’Blanche on April 3, 2010″. Oddly, for an Australian-based publication, Links is most popular in the US, and by a fairly wide margin.

It’s unlikely — to put it mildly — that SA or any of the other Marxist parties will trouble any former lawyers as they make their way to their rightful place to a seat in State Parliament — although stranger things have happened. For my money — and keep in mind I live below the poverty line — the only possible exception would be inner-city Melbourne, where several seats — Brunswick, Melbourne, Northcote and Richmond, which are otherwise the property of Labor — are under pressure from The Greens.

Fuck Off We’re Full of Racists explores the Wide World of Racist Stoopid on Facebook (as well as providing some more serious commentary on matters relating to racial politics in Australia).

History is Made at Night – The Politics of Dancing and Musicking is neat-o, especially 1990: Trafalgar Square Memories (March 31, 2010), which is all about how the vilified and persecuted forces of genuine Marxism gathered around the newspaper ‘Militant’ saved the day… or not.

The bad old days will end is “Home of the Freedom Pass Anarchists and the wonderful world of professional wrestling, psychogeography, allotments and the class struggle.” The author writes: “On the day that I retired from my final job as a lockkeeper I left the following on the wall… I started work at fifteen years of age. Worked on the river and at sea but I also worked in factories and fields. In the circus and in films. I never achieved much. But I never crossed a picket line. Never judged a fellow worker by their colour or creed nor sucked up to the bosses for my own ends. Pretty much sums it all up.”

Welcome is a new(ish) French film currently on release in Australia. I saw it recently and, apart from an absence of car chases, it was pretty good, and a real tear-jerker (so ladies, bring a tissue). Margaret & David gave it ****.

In The Real World, Bad people in Calais, Brighton and elsewhere are flouting The Law in order to provide some degree of solidarity with the migrant workers whose plight is the subject of the film. Channeling Jesus Christ Himself, The Mad Monk pointed out on The Television earlier this week that He would support the Coalition’s policy on asylum seekers. The Mad Monk’s As to the Qs put to Him him by His his audience was masterful, apparently. Thus, to the shock and horror of its many critics, Uncle Rupert’s The Australian (by way of Patricia Karvelas) revealed him to be “at his best” (Softer Tony Abbott proves a winner on ABC’s Q&A, April 6, 2010).

    Bonus spotting! “In a letter on the Kurdish struggle addressed to the Spartacist League, dated June 12, 2003, the IBT appended a postscript. You noted that as early as 1978, the Great Leader of the SL, Jim Robertson, referred to the Kurds as “Turds.” You were rightfully indignant at this blatantly chauvinist sneer. The recent diatribe against you in Workers Vanguard utterly fails to disprove your claim that Robertson obviously meant to be contemptuous of the Kurdish people. Robertson’s accusation that Reuben Samuels, the SL’s leading specialist on the Middle East and an advocate of the importance of the Kurdish struggle, was wasting his time on “the Turds” (capitalized in the original) could have no other intent. One of the former Spartacists who are now supporters of the LRP was in the room when Robertson made his filthy comment; he tells us that everyone there knew he was referring to the Kurds.

Xenophobic Sentiment Has Grown Sharply Following the Tragedy on the Moscow Metro

Russia has recently banned Adolf Hitler’s autobiographical work “Mein Kampf,” joining a number of countries where the “Nazi Bible” is already forbidden. State prosecutors said that a book that describes the concept of “Lebensraum” and paints the Slavic people as inferior beings has “a militaristic outlook and justifies discrimination and destruction of non-Aryan races, reflecting ideas which, when implemented, started World War II.” Experts suggest that the decision to add the book to the federal list of extremist materials signifies the Russian government’s wish to illustrate the war it is waging against the far-right movements. But can this war be won, especially after the Moscow metro bombings?

In Aotearoa/New Zealand, a bonehead has confessed to the murder of Jae Hyeon Kim, a Korean backpacker, in 2003. Shannon Flewellen admitted in the Christchurch High Court that he had helped choke Kim and stomped on his neck until he died (White supremacist admits killing Korean tourist, Keith Lynch, The Press, April 1, 2010).

Best ignored really eh; might scare the tourists — and their lovely money — away…

POLICE are investigating a white pride festival planned for the Gold Coast this month, however they may be powerless to prevent it.

White supremacists from around the world are expected [to] converge on the Coast for the Hammered music festival.

The Queensland chapter of the Southern Cross Hammer Skinheads is publicising the festival which is ‘proudly presented’ by Crew 38 and Blood and Honour, a race-hate group banned in Germany for spreading Nazi messages.

“Hell yeah, this is going to be one hell of a week! Sun, Surf and Racialist Music,” wrote tattooed-aryan on the SCHS website, but the venue for the festival was not named.

Gold Coast police superintendent Jim Keogh said officers were looking into the festival planned for April 17.

“There are anti-discrimination laws but that relates to specific comments, placards and things like that so it is a tricky one at law,” he said.

Mayor Ron Clarke said the council could not stop the event.

“The police and the government have to determine if it’s an illegal organisation,” he said.

• The event is being organised by two neo-Nazi groups: the Southern Cross Hammerskins and Blood & Honour Australia (‘Crew 38’ is the supporter/feeder organisation for the Hammerskins).
• B&H was founded in the UK in 1987 by dead boneheads Ian Stuart (Donaldson) and Nicky Crane; it infected Australia soon after. The Hammerskins were founded in the US in the same period.
• B&H is banned in Germany (also Belgium and Portugal), as are all openly neo-Nazi organisations. There has been a push to ban the organisation as a ‘terrorist’ association in the UK, but this has failed to attract any support. The Hammerskins have been declared an unlawful association in Spain, and in August last year a number of its members were jailed for weapons offences.
• There are two Australian bands scheduled to play the gig on April 17: Open Season and Ravenous (Melbourne).
• The international guest band has not been announced in order to ensure its members make it through Customs. This is not a difficult task as B&H and the Hammerskins have successfully toured a number of foreign bands in the past. Their most recent overseas guests, Kill Baby Kill, are (were) from Belgium. Dieter Samoy, the vocalist for the band, committed suicide in January of this year after being sentenced to two years jail for his part in beating Togolese immigrant Raphaël Mensah into unconsciousness in May 2006.
• In order to avoid potential police or other harassment, the venues for B&H gigs are never publicised. In Melbourne, previous venues have included the Birmingham Hotel* in Fitzroy (2006 and previous years), the Melbourne Croatia Social Club in Sunshine (2007) and the Beaconsfield Hotel in Beaconsfield (2008). *Note that, following a community boycott, the fascist-sympathising pub manager left it in 2008.
• It seems highly unlikely that the neo-Nazis are breaking any laws, as neither association is unlawful, and the event is a private, invitation-only affair. An assault upon a black woman in Fitzroy during the course of one gig was unreported to police; reports of other racial assaults in connection to such events are anecdotal. Lyrics to the songs played by the bands are racist and viciously so, but depend upon ‘offence’ being caused to the listener for legal remedy via racial and religious vilification legislation, the use of which is exceedingly rare in any case.
• In addition to organising gigs, the Hammerskins and B&H also distribute neo-Nazi propaganda; principally by way of the 9percent productions website. In addition to muzak, the site also sells merch (B&H, SCHS, Nazi pins and the like) and propaganda (The Turner Diaries by “Andrew MacDonald” (dead US nutzi William Pierce) and The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, among others).
• Police — especially the political police — monitor the activity of groups such as B&H and the Hammerskins, and if the identities of the parties responsible for organising Hammerfest are not known, this is not because the state is incapable of obtaining such information. The Victorian organiser for B&H, for example, is Justin O’Brien, who owns Hold Fast Body Art tattoo studio in Burwood (and who threatened to assault me if I didn’t stop blogging about neo-Nazis!).

The Curious Case of The Belgrade Six : An Overview and an Update

The International Secretariat of the Serbian anarcho-syndicalist organisation Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative (a member of the International Workers’ Association (IWA-AIT)) has released a statement concerning the arrest of its members in September 2009. Accused of ‘terrorism’, imprisoned for five months and only released in mid-February, The Belgrade Six have their next court appearance on April 23.

Serbian ruling class continues enhanced repression against the libertarian movement, the repression that began with the arrest of the Belgrade six – Sanja Dojkić, Tadej Kurepa, Ratibor Trivunac, Ivan Vulović, Nikola Mitrović and Ivana Savić – in September 2009. Until then unknown anarchist group “Black Ilija” claimed responsibility for throwing two bottles of burning liquid on the pavement near the Greek embassy in Belgrade, as a reaction to the barbaric treatment of the rebels by the Greek state, thereby causing damage of 18 Euros to the embassy. Regime media aided by the regime analysts and “well-informed sources“ have launched a hunt against the only anarchist organization that publicly operates in Serbia – Union Confederation Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative (ASI), section of the International Workers Association. What has began as a media speculations about the connection between ASI and events in front of the embassy, was completed with the arrest of four members of the ASI Belgrade local group, and two other Belgrade anarchists, and, later, after the intervention from “the top seat”, the raising of the first indictment for the crime of “international terrorism” in Serbia. The Belgrade six has spent next five and a half months in terrible conditions of isolation and torture of the Central Prison in Belgrade.

[Local and international reaction]

The reaction to the apparent arrogance and visible repressive actions of the state, which mirrors in the fabrication of evidence against the anarchists and absurd qualification of this event as “international terrorism”, served as the basis for mass mobilization of critical public against this process, which was immediately labeled as the political process against critics of the regime. During the period that Belgrade six has spent in the custody, public, both in Serbia and the region, and in the whole world has reacted strongly against such behavior of the Serbian authorities. In addition to the large number of public petitions and protest letters, the libertarian movement has organized series of protest actions – in Serbia, as well as in Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Austria, Norway, Australia, Britain, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, France, Turkey, USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, etc. Protests and activities in favor of the arrested anarchists were joined by many critical intellectuals, artists and public figures from entire territory of the former Yugoslavia. Interest caused by the case and the pressure of the public has undoubtedly played a crucial role in the abolition of detention of the Belgrade six. During the first hearing, that was held on 17th of February and which more than 200 people from Serbia and the world has attempted to attend, after hearing of the accused, the court decided on the abolition of detention, and allowed anarchists to continue their defense released from custody.

South African white supremacist leader Eugene Terreblanche has been killed on his farm in the country’s north-west. Mr Terreblanche, 69, was beaten to death after a dispute over unpaid wages, local media reports said. Two people are said to have been arrested…

…more than 3,000 white farmers have been murdered since the end of apartheid in 1994. And it is possible that some people may seek retribution…

Merrie Old England… Defence… League

A week prior to the debut of the Australian Defence League in Melbourne on Friday April 9, in Dudley the English Defence League has staged another rally. See : Seven arrested over rival protests in Dudley, BBC.

Seemingly chastened by the previous counter-rally in Bolton, at which several score counter-protesters were arrested, on this occasion the UAF/SWP has organised a rally — ‘One Dudley Many Cultures’ celebration rejects the hatred and division of the EDL — well away from the EDL’s, with speeches (by all the usual suspects) supplemented with entertainment provided courtesy of the SWP’s musical front LMHR. At the same time as this tactical shift has occurred, the SWP/UAF has also altered its rhetoric, from SMASH THE EDL (Smash the racist EDL in Bolton) to STOP THE EDL RIOTING (Stop the EDL thugs rioting in Dudley).

In both cases, most observers appear to agree that the police have a definite advantage over the UAF/SWP in this area.

What the shift from confrontation to competition on the part of the SWP/UAF means for the EDL is a good question. Insofar as what attracts the moar apolitical hools to the cause is the potential for some violent fun and games, the UAF/SWP’s absence may serve to dampen their enthusiasm. The same applies to the hool’s desire for notoriety, which would seem to require at least some imgs of League members clashing with their Muslim and leftist opposition. Still, something like 1,000 EDL are reported to have stood around in a car park surrounded by police in Dudley, and something like that number did much the same in Bolton a few weeks earlier, so maybe they’ve reached a certain threshold already. As for Australia, it’s difficult to imagine a mob consisting of even 1/10th that number taking to the streets to ‘defend’ the country from Muslims. On the other hand, no Australian city has experienced the equivalent of London’s 7/7, so it’s perhaps not all that surprising.

As for the BNP, its leadership is going through troubled times, only a few weeks away from the next UK general election. Thus Mark ‘Young, Nazi & Proud’ Collett is one of several senior figures to have been dismissed from the party in recent days. Supposedly, Collett had been discovered to have been using his position to his own financial advantage. MEP for North West England and Führer Chairman of the British National Party Nick Gri££in, who would never do such a thing, is pitting himself against millionaire Labor MP Margaret Hodges in the seat of Barking.

Local Anti-Racist Shot in Downtown Portland

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, March 27, a man was brutally attacked in the heart of downtown Portland. His attacker shot him and left him lying in the street. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in an area hospital, fighting to overcome extensive injuries.

It is no secret that this man, Luke Querner, is a long-time anti-fascist activist. He has devoted over a decade of his life to opposing the most vicious elements of our city’s white supremacist movement. Rose City Antifascists, the Portland chapter of the Anti-Racist Action Network, believe that the local neo-Nazis whom Luke has opposed for years attempted to murder him on Saturday morning.

Luke is proud to be an anti-racist skinhead. The true skinhead movement has always been anti-racist, tracing its origins to the cultural intersection of Jamaican immigrants and working class whites in England during the 1960s. After racists and the far-Right attempted to hijack the skinhead movement in the late 1970s and ‘80s, a movement known as SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) emerged in 1987 to reaffirm the anti-racist roots of the subculture. As with many other anti-racist skins, Luke is deeply committed to racial equality and social justice. This commitment has caused Luke to be targeted in the past.

Rose City Antifa believes that the most recent attack was planned and committed by an element within Portland’s neo-Nazi underground. This is the most logical explanation for such a vicious act, for several reasons:

1. Local neo-Nazi organizations and cliques have the capability to carry out such an act. Several organizations, including the Portland-centered Volksfront International, are tightly-organized, disciplined, and command significant loyalty from adherents and sympathizers. Their members have experience committing violent acts, including murder.

2. Luke was a prime enemy of organized racists. Luke and his community have been violently targeted by Volksfront in the past. The recent shooting echoes the sentiments expressed in the song “SHARP Shooter” by the old Volksfront-affiliated rock band, Jew Slaughter.

3. Local fascist groups have spent recent months uniting despite organizational differences. Volksfront as well as National Socialist Movement affiliates hosted a series of social events that have likely emboldened individual fascists. One recent point of unity between local neo-Nazi cliques and groups—whether they be Volksfront, the Northwest Front, the National Socialist Movement or Hammerskins—has been common targeting of anti-racists and the Left.

4. Given the overall resurgence of the radical Right in recent years (see Southern Poverty Law Center report), neo-Nazis have expressed more urgency in their propaganda, expecting a race war in the near future.

Luke is an entrenched and beloved figure in the anti-racist community and well known by local fascists. Saturday’s shooting was an intentional message that those standing up for equality are in mortal danger…

LOL ADL : Anti-racist counter-rally : Friday, April 9

The Australian Defence League has mixed-up confusion worse than their “Scottish” counterparts. First the League declared its support for a MASS RALLY AGAINST IMMIGRANTS AND ISLAM to defend Australia from WOMEN being STONNED / forced CIRCUMCISIONS by DIRTY ARABIC BUTCHERS / multiple WIVES and G*d knows what else their fertile imaginations could produce. Then they withdrew their support, and decided to promote the April 9 rally as a protest against SHARIA LAW (which, they maintain — with a straight face — is on the verge of being imposed upon the Australian population). Now the bizarros have once again cancelled their support for the event.

Or have they? Who really knows. But the ADL are surely the most pathetic League since the Patriotik Yoof.

(Also, sadly, one of the organisers of the mass rally, Robert Wills (PraiseMuhammad), appears to have exited Facebook. For the record, Robert liked UFC, Coca-Cola, women with nice racks, Carl Barron, loud music and free drinks, misses being a little kid and doesn’t give a f**k.)

In any event, Melbourne locals have organised a counter-rally to oppose the boofheaded bigots — a MASS RALLY AGAINST IDIOTS AND IGNORANCE. So if you’d like to let the bigots belonging to the League, the fascists in the ‘Australian Protectionist Party’, the ‘Southern Cross Soldiers’, boneheads, and all the other racist cranks who are planning on crawling out of the gutter to make a public spectacle of themselves on this occasion know that they are not welcome, do yourself a favour, and come on down.

A Metropolitan Police officer accused of striking a woman with a metal baton at a G20 protest has been cleared.

Sgt Delroy Smellie denied common assault on Nicola Fisher, 36, of Brighton, during the protest in Exchange Square, London, in April 2009.

The officer told City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court he feared objects in her hand were weapons…

[Ian] Tomlinson, 47, died after he was pushed to the ground by a police officer during clashes on 1 April. He had been walking home from work and was not part of the demonstration.

Judge Wickham watched video footage of the incident and looked at numerous photographs before coming to a decision on the case, which was heard without a jury…

Prosecutors have spent some six months looking at the death of Ian Tomlinson. They are yet to decide whether to charge any officers over that incident.

At the same that the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei/Nuceli of Fire Conspiracy has apparently disavowed responsibility for a lethal attack in Athens on the weekend, a group calling itself the ‘Revolutionary National Socialist Front’ has done gone and claimed it. Authorities still appear to be convinced It’s A Conspiracy!, however, and have pooh-poohed suggestions that it’s fascists what done it. In The Real World, meanwhile, an appeal will presumably be launched to provide financial support to the family devastated by the blast, as the Greek state takes advantage of the incident in order to justify its more general repression of political dissent; a necessity in light of new austerity measures currently being imposed upon the general population…

Greek new terrorist group claims responsibility for Sunday’s bomb attack in Athens

ATHENS, March 30 (Xinhua) — Greek terrorist group “Revolutionary National Socialist Front” claimed on Tuesday responsibility for Sunday’s bomb attack in the central Athens which caused the death of a 15-year-old Afghan boy and serious injury of his 10-year-old sister.

In a new development for local guerrilla groups which operate in Greece for years and mostly are anarchist and far-Left, the new terrorist group is pro-racist and targets immigrants on purpose, as well as political and financial targets. That is the first conclusion of counter-terrorism experts based on a statement released on an internet site.

“In Greece in 2010 we are in danger of ending up as foreigners in our own country … Greek governments have no policy on migration … We will not accept this situation. Not at Patisia nor anywhere else. For their sake and ours, foreigners leave every district,” said the statement which concluded with a warning that in the future no gathering in a mosque should be considered safe in Athens.

The perpetrators did not confirm police estimations that the Afghan teenager is a victim of a tragic mistake made by whoever is responsible, but stressed that they do not apologize for any death. “We are at war and in wars even minors die,” the statement said.

Greek police still have not confirmed the authenticity of the claim of responsibility, as just a few hours earlier on Tuesday another group “Guerrilla Group Lambros Fountas” also claimed responsibility for the same attack with a phone call to a Greek newspaper.

In Barnsley, ‘Devil Bitch Tattoo’ in Wellington Street and ‘The Fleets’ pub in Smithies Lane have both closed for business according to Antifa UK. In Melbourne, ‘The Birmy’ pub on the corner of Smith and Johnston Streets in Fitzroy was until mid-2008 under the management of Gary Wayne Kitto, a fascist sympathiser who provided a platform for members of the neo-Nazi groups Blood & Honour and the Hammerskins for almost a decade. Despite resistance from local patriotic punks and skinheads, after a community boycott of the pub was initiated it changed hands, and is now a Nazi-free zone. ‘Hold Fast Body Art’ — a tattoo studio on Burwood Highway, Burwood — on the other hand, is still under Nazi occupation, in this case by Justin O’Brien, the Victorian state representative for Blood & Honour. Naturally, patriotic punks and skinheads continue to support the business, but whether or not this is sufficient to keep it afloat remains to be seen.

Thus in Sydney: Socialist candidates take on the racists (Peter Boyle, Green Left Weekly, March 27, 2010). Both the APP and Australia First have declared they will be fielding candidates at the upcoming Federal election: Tony Pettitt (Greenway) and Mick Saunders (Lindsay) for AF; Nicholas (Hunter) Folkes (Sydney) for APP. Unlike SA, neither AF nor APP are registered political parties.

For reasons which remain obscure, former One Nation Party MP David Oldfield will no longer be polluting the airwaves on behalf on 2GB. Aside from (allegedly) having sex with Pauline Hanson — who is (supposedly) pissing off to England at some point — Oldfield was also known for being pranked. “The silly kids who called in” to his show will no doubt be disappointed upon learning that he’s departed, but I reckon his replacement will be rather similar.

Obviously, Paul is kept very busy removing profanities and racial epithets, but removing spelling and grammatical errors, logical fallacies and nonsensical assertions from Stormfront is a task he is ill-equipped for. I thought I’d encountered that name before somewhere, and I had: it’s one of a tiny handful of ‘punk rock’ bands so patriotic they almost burst with pride, strength and honour (and anti-Semitism), and as such the band was interviewed by Portuguese bizarro Flávio Gonçalves, a ‘national anarchist’ who, like Sydney-based fascist Welf Herfurth, once mashed a keyboard on behalf of the bizarro mathaba.net site. In fact, in 2007, Gonçalves interviewed Poker Face for the site.

But who are Poker Face, and who cares anyway?

Well, a bizarro Xtian kult/crazy last-days war-gamers known as the ‘Hutaree Militia’ got themself arrest recently, and of them Poker Face wrote: “At the present time, Poker Face has no comment on the situation developing/unfolding with the Hutaree folks. But given the governments track record against we the free, it makes us suspect government motives first, not the Hutaree… We pray that cooler heads prevail, and we are talking about ALL sides.”

Riot squad, sniffer dogs and police on horseback gathered around the Humanist Society building in Chippendale on the first Friday night in November as a hundred local folk conducted a lively street protest against a neo-Nazi group that had planned to meet in the building.

The demonstration had been initiated by some local people who had been disturbed at the sight of Nazi icons on those apparently using the building for a regular neo-Nazi meeting. In an address to the crowd, one local resident told of his fear as a gay person at seeing people gathering with brazen displays of Nazi paraphernalia associated with murderous homophobia, racism and cultural intolerance. Other people from groups targeted by Nazis expressed similar concerns. Yet the second speaker, Chris Mansergh, a long-term truth and social justice activist, spoke in favour of the right of the neo-Nazi group to meet, on the principle of freedom speech.

Mr Mansergh told the SSH that he had gone to the Humanist Society building a few weeks previous for a meeting of another group, and he and his friends had then been terrorised by people attacking the building with baseball bats and smashing windows, not knowing until afterwards who those people may have been or what they wanted. It seems likely that these people had been trying to protest against Nazis, using the same techniques for which Nazis are notorious.

Kieran Adair, a local university student who came to support the rally, told the SSH: “I don’t want fascists in my city or my country. The Nazis started this way and it’s too dangerous to even let them plant their roots. Hate speech is not free speech.” Dale Mills, 46, a long-term member of the Humanist Society, told the SSH: “I think that freedom of expression is very important, but this is more about organisation, and far-right organisations coming together to organise and promote their policies. If their policies are racist and hateful, I think that leasing them a room to let them do that is a step too far.” He said the booking had probably been made without the nature of the groups being known.

President of the NSW Humanist Society, John August, issued a statement to that effect, explaining that a group called the Public Information Forum (PIF), banned from meeting at Humanist House in 2005, had returned under the name Klub Nation. At the recent AGM in August 2009, PIF/Klub Nation participants and supporters were elected to the Humanist Society’s management committee.
