Anthony Scrinis : another hard-working political adviser facing persecution

    Anthony : Cheeky.

Leave Anthony Scrinis alone!

The media is reporting that Anthony (aka ‘Tones’) — an ‘adviser’ to Federal Tory politician Sophie Mirabella — has resigned from his position, following allegations that he expressed his appreciation of the female form at a party. Or to put it another way: Tones, a professional, is committed to achieving outstanding results, at the most effective cost (to er, Sophie). With over 20 years industry experience in delivering effective communication to a target audience, Tones is visually entertaining and delivers key messages with impact. Tones efficiently delivers Sophie’s vision, and helps her develop themes and presentation styles that match her project. His personal service on any sized project guarantees delivery to Sophie’s complete satisfaction.

Apparently, according to the PC fascists that control Canberra (especially its ‘Press Gallery’), this is now a “crime”.

Witnesses say at one point during the evening he burst in on a private conversation between Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull and ball guests in which he boasted in a loud voice about “hot babes” in the Liberal Party, and made exaggerated gestures.

~ Adviser to Libs female MP sacked after charity ball, Katharine Murphy, The Age, June 19, 2009

So?

A raving feminazi called ‘mscate’ has already crucified the Young Tories for their collective appreciation of the female form (Lewd Liberal losers, The Dawn Chorus, May 22). But as Young Tory blogger / Cato Institute employee former Cato Institute intern Timmeh! Andrews succinctly put it: “To put it simply, we have all the hot girls,” the Washington-based blogger and member of the Ashfield branch of the Young Liberals wrote. “Well, judge for yourself. I present to you the conservative and libertarian girls of Australia!”

Huzzah!

Despite an incredibly-spirited campaign, Anthony was denied a position on Port Phillip Council last year (presumably as a result of a Labor dirty tricks campaign); now he has been denied employment; will the Young Tories also deny Mr Scrinis?

I, for one, will not.

Leave Anthony Scrinis alone!

World Leaders Sign Pact To Avert Climate Disaster

In a front-page ad in today’s International Herald Tribune, the leaders of the European Union thank the European public for having engaged in months of civil disobedience leading up to the Copenhagen climate conference that will be held this December. “It was only thanks to your massive pressure over the past six months that we could so dramatically shift our climate-change policies… To those who were arrested, we thank you.”

ABOVE : French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso congratulate each other following the Copenhagen Climate Summit, where world leaders agreed to massive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The new policy came about in response to public protests around the globe demanding that world leaders do the right thing for the planet.

In response to the declaration, Victorian Energy and Resources Minister Peter Batchelor said today he would be “asking the Victorian Government to make sure we’ve got adequate laws to deal with polluting activities”.

Any move is likely to win support from the major parties, with the State Opposition also calling for tighter regulations at power plants in recognition of the threat to the planet they represent.

Mr Batchelor said this was a “real threat” and that everything will be done to protect working families after the conclusion of the Copenhagen Climate Summit.

Mr Batchelor described the threat of global warming as “unacceptable” and a worrying development.

“This [is] a predictable consequence of our over-reliance on polluting energy sources, one that has existed for decades, if not centuries – directly threatening men, women and children, both now and in the future, and across the globe.

“It is totally unacceptable to construct or maintain power plants that threaten people’s health and well-being, in their homes, in their factories, in the city, in the bush, in offices or elsewhere,” he said.

“We want the Victorian police to bring down the full weight of the law on the sort of people making these threats.”

Mr Batchelor said the Victorian Government must show that it respects both the law and the natural environment and identify those people that have threatened public health and that of the planet.

“Generations of Victorians are threatened by these sorts of activities,” he said.

“There has been a steady and systematic escalation of levels of environmental destruction caused by our power supplies… it is unacceptable for utility supplies to place the health of the planet at risk.

“It doesn’t matter if it is gas, electricity or water — citizens deserve to have a massively less destructive supply.

“We ask the environmental movement to very rapidly identify the people who propagate and profit from this threat and tell the police who they are.”

Racism and fascist violence in Northern Ireland PLUS

“No offence but honestly who gives a shit about some Romanians in Belfast.” Nowave | “If Romanians are so interesting to you, move to the Six Counties.” ~ Fruitsalad | Melbourne Punx Forum, October 2008 | “When we played Dirty Ol’ Town, Adam says, in the height of good humour, ‘this one’s for Ulster’ as I’m doing the harmonica intro…” Doug Smith (Bulldog Spirit/Marching Orders/Skin Heads Neither For Nor Against Racial Prejudice).

Orange Leeds

Less than a week after the BNP’s success in the Euro election, in Leeds Orangemen marched for the first time in 40 years. Funnily enough, the march took place only an hour or two after ‘Unite Against Fascism’ organised a rally in the same part of town; alternatively — according to antifa.org.uk — the UAF march “led by [Weyman] Bennett, was halted by the UAF on the request of the police, so that the first Orange Order parade in 40 years could go ahead on time in the same location”.

Call me a crazy Jewish anarchist / call me a gay Nazi / don’t call me late for dinner, but this sort of behaviour is not usually understood as constituting ‘militant anti-fascism’.

Historical note:

America and France, and the Spectre of Republicanism

In 1778, when the regular garrisons had been depleted for service in America, there arose in Ireland the (overwhelmingly Protestant) Volunteers movement, ostensibly to defend the country from foreign invasion. Soon the Volunteers began to alarm the government by their obvious republican and independentist tendency and, above all, by their declarations of support for equal rights for Catholics. In December 1791, the British government proposed that the Irish Parliament allow the elective franchise to sufficiently propertied Catholics. The calculated effect was that the Catholics of “the most consequence and property” would become “sharers in” the system of social control. Within little over a year, the government and the authoritative negotiating team, known as the Catholic Committee, reached an agreement that in effect ended Catholic collaboration with the Volunteers in exchange for the passage of a law in 1793 (33 Geo. III, c. 21 [Irish Statutes]), giving Catholic forty-shilling freeholders the right to vote in elections of members of the exclusively Protestant Irish Parliament. A companion act (33 Geo. III, c. 22 [Irish Statues]), established an Irish militia of about fifteen thousand (increased to nearly twenty-two thousand two years later) which, although officered by Protestants, had a predominantly Catholic rank and file.

Thrown on the political defensive by the cumulative effect of this shift in the strategic orientation of the British government, the forces of Protestant Ascendancy rallied behind the racist tradition symbolized by the Dutch William of Orange (“of glorious… and immortal memory”) who, as King William III of England, had defeated the Irish and Catholic cause in 1689 and ushered in the long night of the Penal Laws.

The first to rally were labouring-class Protestants in 1795, who sensed a creeping Catholic Emancipationism threatening their racial privileges — such as their preferential tenant status and the right to keep and bear arms. The surge of Protestant bigotry took organized form with the establishment of the Orange Order, following an armed clash between Protestant and Catholic tenants in County Armagh in September 1795. This event was immediately followed by a terror campaign which drove hundreds of Catholic families from their Ulster homes into stony Connaught. Viewed at first with a considerable degree of upper-class suspicion for its lowly origins, Orangeism gained in respectability, especially among the diehard Protestant Assembly elements of the ruling class who had not yet got the message that it was time for a change. In the Rebellion of 1798, the Orange Order, now formally constituted in Ireland and Britain, played a key role in splitting Protestants from the equalitarian stand of the United Irishmen, and in the form of the armed and mounted yeomanry units served also as repressive auxilliaries in the repressive operations of the military.

As for Weyman:

‘BNP should be confronted to prevent them gaining power’
Weyman Bennett
The Times
June 13, 2009

The recent electoral gains by the British National Party have triggered debates over how best to oppose it. Unite Against Fascism (UAF) believes that the BNP is a fascist organisation, and as such it should not be treated with the respect one accords to democratic parties. The BNP should be physically confronted wherever it tries to organise. It should be not be accepted as a legitimate political organisation, or mollycoddled with interviews and airtime. It should driven out of our political life…

Weyman Bennett is Joint Secretary of Unite Against Fascism, and a member of the Central Committee of the Socialist Workers’ Party. (On previous criticism of his special brand of activism, see Reflections & analysis: the WOMBLES, the ESF & beyond, WOMBLES, December 2004 // Unite Against Fascism is a weird mob, August 1, 2008; BNP’s RWB vs SWP’s UAF, August 21, 2008.)

SWP vs. BNP

The SWP would appear to be in something of a bind with regards ‘anti-fascism’. On the one hand, it closed down its front group the ‘Anti-Nazi League’ in the early ’90s, only to re-boot it several years ago upon the realisation that while the NF and other fascist groupuscules had faded away, the BNP was growing. But organising pop concerts and seeking the endorsement of TV personalities — and even British Labour — has hardly been a resounding success — in fact, quite the opposite. At the same time, while the SWP has careened its way from the ‘Socialist Alliance’ to ‘Respect’ to the ‘Left List’ to ‘Left Alternative’ — gaining less votes at each turn — the BNP has gained hundreds of local councillors and now representation in the European Parliament. As the fortunes of the SWP have dwindled, so those of the BNP have increased. Partly for this reason, the SWP is once again appealing to other leftists to join them in a NEW! IMPROVED! electoral coalition.

The non-confrontation in Leeds also follows hot on the heels of an egg-throwing incident outside the British Parliament involving a one-eyed Welshman, a handful of his thugs, and a few score journalists and protesters: no yolk. A faint echo, perhaps, of a previous militancy which, ‘ironically’, resulted in a purge of the SWP of its militant, ‘squaddist’ elements. (See : Interview from Beating Fascism: Anarchist anti-fascism in theory and practice, January 10, 2006 | Fightdemback interview with Dave Hann, co-author No Retreat, July 11, 2006 | Ian Stuart : Zero of the White Race, Skrewdriver, and “The Battle of Waterloo”, September 25, 2006 | Bash the Fash, June 12, 2008. Of course, the egg-throwing incident brings to mind a somewhat similar incident outside Brunswick Town Hall in March 1994, in which Michael de Brander — the then fuehrer of local fascist groupusucle ‘National Action’ — expertly managed to catch an egg in his mouth: footage of which featured as ‘Goal of the Week’ on that week’s edition of The Footy Show. See : Anti-fascism in Melbourne: 1990s, March 20, 2007.)

Belfast, Northern Ireland/Six Counties

In Belfast in Northern Ireland / the Six Counties, 100 Roma (‘Gypsies’) from Romania have been forced to flee their homes following an assault by incredibly brave men determined to purge south Belfast of Those Thieving Gyspy Bastards. According to Robert Booth (The Guardian, June 17, 2009), Suspicion of ‘anyone different’ is a legacy of sectarianism. Further, “A far-right website published pornographic images of Chinese women linked to abusive remarks about [one woman] and she said she had been kicked in the street”.

Racist gang attack family’s home
BBC
June 15, 2009

A Romanian family has been targeted in a series of racist attacks in south Belfast.

A gang smashed windows and terrorised pregnant women and children in attacks on two houses on Belgravia and Wellesley avenues…

It has been claimed that up to 20 people gathered outside the properties which were attacked.

It is also alleged that those involved shouted Combat 18 slogans and a letter containing text from Hitler’s Mein Kampf was pushed through the letterbox of one of the properties.

There have been racial tensions in the area since trouble erupted at a World Cup qualifier between Northern Ireland and Poland at Windsor Park in March.

A number of migrant families subsequently decided to leave their homes.

The involvement of ‘Combat 18’ in the attacks has been disputed, although it is entirely possible that those shouting their silly little racist heads off have more than a passing familiarity with both the term and its organisational history (in which context, see also : Extremist Crimes: Neo-Nazis With Bomb Parts in Alabama, Maine, Intelligence Report, Summer 2009). It has also been alleged that some of those who participated in a ‘riot’ in Luton in May were somehow associated with C18 (Unmasked: The football hooligans behind last weekend’s bloody protest against a Muslim war demo, Paul Bracchi, Daily Mail, May 29, 2009); certainly, the relationships between fascist groupuscules, parties such as the BNP and Loyalism have been well-documented in the past.

Video of racist yoof and other details concerning the attacks available via u.tv. In a gesture of solidarity with the fleeing yoof, u.tv has obscured their faces [!] — while failing to do the same in the case of the anti-racist mob.

At present, it appears that the fascist vigilantes may have won this battle: the Romanian families have left their houses, police have dispersed supporters, and the usual truckload of denunciations of racism have been emanating from various political worthies.

Still, the situation is not as bad as, say, Rostock (Germany) in 1992/3

Melbourne, Australia

The above brings to mind the efforts of local boneheads, especially Melbourne Hammerskin Jesse, who together with Belgian boneheads belonging to nutzi band ‘Kill Baby Kill!’ has recorded the No.1 Smash Hit ‘Oh No Here Comes An Abo!’. Jesse and his mates will be gathering in Melbourne on September 12 this year to prance about in front of swastikas and other nutzi kitsch, just as they did at The Birmingham Hotel in 2005 and 2006. Funnily enough, at the 2006 gig, a woman was targeted by similarly brave men:

Blondien (not her real name) says she was walking alone to her car on Johnston Street the same night when she was surrounded by about seven men. She says the men screamed abuse at her, calling her a black c..t and forcing her to repeat the insults.

“It’s disgusting that people would single out one person and you have to say stuff about your race to get out of it,” Blondien said…

Hotel co-owner Gary (who wouldn’t give his surname) said: “I’m not getting involved in someone else’s bullshit.”

On the bright side, local punks rallied ’round Gary, but, sadly, the pub changed hands following the institution of a boycott.

As for Those Thieving Gyspy Bastards, the anarchist faggots belonging to Amnesty International UK (who really should be killed) have complained (Northern Ireland: Attacks Against Roma Communities are Unacceptable and Must be Stopped Says Amnesty, June 17, 2009):

The latest attacks on Roma people in Northern Ireland are part of a trend of growing abuses against the Roma across Europe, Amnesty International said today. The organisation is urging the authorities to investigate urgently the series of racist attacks which forced over 100 Roma people from Romania to flee their homes in Belfast and to protect them from future attacks.

According to news reports, attacks in Northern Ireland against Roma people from Romania have increased in recent months – some of them have been attacked verbally and physically, and bricks have been thrown through their windows. An anti-racist rally in the city on 15 June was attacked by youths chanting neo-Nazi slogans [the anti-racists chased them away]. On the evening of 16 June, a group of Roma initially sought refuge in the City Church in South Belfast, and have subsequently been transferred by Northern Ireland authorities to temporary accommodation in a leisure centre elsewhere in the city…

Standing up to such bigotry and violence can, however, have terrible consequences: such is the case of Australian citizen Jock Palfreeman, currently imprisoned in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he is facing charges of murder and attempted murder following his attempt to intervene on behalf of two Roma being assaulted by a racist gang. Jock — like others — has seemingly been abandoned to his fate by Australian authorities, although the recent broadcast of an episode of Foreign Correspondent focusing on his case may have alerted at least a handful more individuals to his plight. For further infos, see : freejock.net.

In the meantime, it’s highly likely that more attacks will be launched against Roma (and anarchists and Jews and leftists and queers and and and) by far right militants, emboldened by their comrades’ entry into the European Parliament.

On a more positive note, The Anti-Racism World Cup will be taking place July 31–August 2 @ Donegal Celtic Football Club.

Jack Kerouac : ‘SEPT. 16, 1961, POEM’

How awfully sad i felt thinking of my sleeping mother in her bed
that she’ll die someday
tho she herself always says “death is nothing to worry about,
from this life we start to another”
How awfully sad I felt anyway —
That have no wine to make me forget my rotting teeth is bad enough
but that my whole body is rotting and my mother’s body is rotting
towards death, it’s all so insanely sad.
I went outside in the pure dawn: but why should I be glad about
a dawn
that dawns on another rumor of war,
and why should I be sad: isnt the air at least pure and fresh?
I looked at the flowers on the bush: one of them had fallen:
another was just bloomed open: neither of them were sad or glad.
I suddenly realized all things just come and go
including any feeling of sadness: that too will go:
sad today glad tomorrow: somber today drunk tomorrow:
why fret
so much?

Everybody in the world has flaws just like me.
Why should I put myself down? Which is a feeling just coming to go.
Everything comes and goes. How good it is!
Evil wars wont stay forever!
Pleasant forms also go.
Since everything just comes and goes O why be sad? or glad?
Sick today healthy tomorrow. But O I’m so sad just the same!
Just coming and going all over the place,
the place itself coming and going.
We’ll all end up in heaven anyway, together
in that golden eternal bliss I saw.
O how damned sad I cant write about it well.
This is an attempt at the easy lightness of Ciardian poetry.
I should really use my own way.
But that too will go, worries about style. About sadness.
My little happy purring cat hates doors!
And sometimes he’s sad and silent, hot nose, sighs,
and a little heartbroken mew.
There go the birds, flying west a moment.
Who’s going to ever know the world before it goes?

Jas H Duke (1939–1992) : An Anarchist Poet

From the editorial to Going Down Swinging, No.13, March 1993:

“Welcome to the thirteenth Going Down Swinging. With this issue comes a compact disc of Jas H Duke reading his poems and talking about poetry. Jas Duke died tragically on June 13, 1992 in St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne at the age of 52.

Jas was born during the Second World War and began writing during the Vietnam War. In his youth he was an actor, appearing in many underground movies. He travelled overseas and wrote his long, surreal novel, Destiny Wood, in the early seventies in England (although it wasn’t published until 1978). Eventually, he gave up writing prose, saying: “I’m over 40 now; broken sentences are best for one at my time of life.”

He was an active member of Collective Effort Press [GPO Box 2430, Melbourne, Victoria, 3001] where he was involved in many small press publications including the ground-breaking 925 (a litmag about work and workers and written by workers) and a book of visual poetry, Missing Forms.

Jas Duke’s public readings were a constant delight — with his inimitable sound poems, lyric poems, narrative poems, the satirical, the absurd, the political. His range was immense. His readings were memorable, not only because of his appearance — a big man with a shaved head and a beard that out-bearded Ned Kelly’s — nor simply because of his theatrics — sometimes he would tear out a page of poetry by Yeats and eat it while reading a poem — but mainly for his energy and commitment to a poetry that shocked and re-awakened his audiences. He suspected authorities and often re-wrote historical episodes, pointing to the real-life heroes, those underdogs history overlooks.

In 1987 Jas H Duke produced one of the great poetry books of our time — Poems of War and Peace. It was remarkable for its variety and breadth: 268 pages of his poems, instructions for sound poems, translations of German poets and a selection from Destiny Wood. Jas Duke was an influential poet whose output has yet to be fully realised. He wrote thousands of poems, enough for a book a year for a long time. Jas will be sadly missed, but luckily his poetry remains.”

Track 4: Interview with Bill Marshall for 3PBS-FM radio (197?). Answering the Telephone. The Morning of a Bullshit Artist. Shit Poem (all from 3PBS-FM recording 197?). Bruno’s Injury. My Brother at the Dole Office. Noisy Incident. The Future of Richmond (Collective Effort recordings).

Thylazine sez:

“Jas H. Duke was born in Ballarat, Australia. He was the son of two school teachers. In 1966 he travelled to England and Europe. While in London he became an anarchist and worked on Freedom Press publications. He mixed with the mid to late 60s underground bohemian scene there meeting people such as Cohn Bendit, Yoko Ono and Raol Hausmann. Jas moved to Brighton (England) and worked as a sound poet. He was involved in the experimental multi-media films of Jeff Keen. In 1972 Jas moved back to Australia where he became involved in … performance poetry. He worked both as a sound and visual poet and was [an] actor in some of the Cantrill’s short films. He was also a chess historian/aficionado. Jas H. Duke worked as a Draughtsman and later a Technical Officer for the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works and wrote about his experiences there in 925 magazine. He was involved in numerous visual poetry and photographic exhibitions.”

Included is a previously-unpublished performance poem.” | Duke, James Herriott, 1939-1992, Nick Heath, libcom.org | Introductions to Jas H. Duke (Karl Young).

40 Kiwi anarchists headed for Calais!

Fresh from their victory in London in April, 40 Kiwi anarchists are headed for Calais, France. There — beneath the mask of ‘consensus’, where one person (possibly a Londoner named ‘John’), is accepted by some unwritten rules as The Secret Master — they will be sneakily and tricksily ordering about thousands in an attempt to destroy Western Civilization by way of conveying workers Third World scum across the borders of France into the UK.

According to one local Marxist theoretician, what is expected to give them a certain critical mass at the Noborder Camp is the presence of considerable numbers of anarchists from overseas, including a considerable number of black bloc anarchists from Europe — people from Sweden, Germany and England. These people are like football hooligans who travel the world looking for violence.

On top of that there is also expected to be a considerable number of anarchists from other galaxies.

“Because of the behaviour of these provocateurs the media and the law and order brigade are having a field day.

The left should offer no comfort to these crazies. We should do whatever we can to isolate them. They are wreckers. If they grow in numbers it will simply make it harder to build future protests and movements.”

Riot police descend on Calais as anarchists incite migrants to ‘tear down border controls and make for Britain’
Peter Allen
Daily Mail
June 16, 2009

Hundreds of armed riot police began arriving in Calais today as anarchists pledged to mobilise migrants to ‘tear down border controls and make for Britain’.

More than 2,000 protesters are expected in the northern French port for a week of action.

They want the illegal migrants sleeping rough in the area to be able to get over to the UK as quickly as possible, even if it means fighting the forces of law and order.

Local authorities are taking the situation so seriously that they have already drafted detachments of elite CRS riot control officers into the town…

Or: From 23th to 29th of June in Calais will be held a camp for freedom of movement for all and an end to borders and to all migration controls… In February groups from France and the UK including people involved in the UK NoBorders Network agreed in a meeting in Lille to organise [a] transnational Noborder Camp in Calais, France, which will be held from 23–29th of June 2009… [VIDEO].

Brutal backlash targets Iran’s students
Robert Tait and Saeed Dehghan, Tehran
The Age
June 17, 2009

HEAVY-handed police tactics with Iranian students are apparently aimed at quelling a wave of campus rebellions against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s disputed re-election, which authorities fear could spill over to the wider population.

A Farsi website, Balatarin, carried an unconfirmed report that seven people had been killed in the southern city of Shiraz after confrontations with riot police at the local university. It is believed that five students may also have died in clashes at Tehran University on Sunday.

The students — named as Fatemeh Barati, Kasra Sharafi, Mobina Ehterami, Kambiz Shoaee and Mohsen Imani — are believed to have been buried on Monday in Behesht-e-Zahra, a famous cemetery in Tehran, reportedly without their families being informed.

Autnews, a website run by students of Tehran’s Amirkabir University of Technology, claimed that plain-clothes officers used firearms against students after forcing their way on to the campus. Students were said to have sought refuge in toilets after police raided halls of residence, where rooms were ransacked and beds set on fire…

Another hard-working, legitimate businessman facing persecution

Garion Hall of G Media is in heap ’em big trouble: Director quizzed over production of graphic movies, Keith Moor, Herald Sun, June 16, 2009:

POLICE raided a Melbourne porn business that makes up to $10 million a year from allegedly illegal activities.

Detectives raided five premises as part of Operation Refuge, seizing computers containing footage of women allegedly performing explicit sex acts, which are illegal to produce in Victoria.

They are also investigating allegations that some of the models on the porn company’s website are under age.

Police raided the Fitzroy head office of G Media – which runs a porn website – in the early morning raids, and arrested its director, Garion Hall, at his Heidelberg home.

Two storage facilities and another office were part of the Fitzroy raids.

Computer records and explicit DVDs allegedly containing material too graphic to be legally made in Victoria were among items seized.

It is illegal to profit from making porn films in Victoria.

It is believed Mr Hall denies any wrongdoing…

The Garion Hall Story

At the age of eighteen Ainsley Hall [NSFW] (along with Ainsley Verra) left school. Some years later, denied the opportunity to use his talents in the service of his country under his real name, as Ainsley Garion Hall Verra Abby Winters he began to operate what he called ‘The Operation’. He would masturbate and then promise Internet users access to images of him doing so if they paid him money. Four months later, he started another operation called ‘The Other Operation’. In this racket he employed young women to masturbate on camera, videos he uploaded to the Internet and made available for free. One month later he hit upon ‘The Other Other Operation’. In this Garion hired young women to pose nude and to perform in pornographic videos, to which Internet users were promised access — if they paid. This, for Garion, was the turning point…

I often wondered where all those posters I see on lampposts advertising jobs for alt.chicks led. Now I know. To Fitzroy, G Media, Garion Hall & Abby Winters / GMBill.com.

About abbywinters.com

“I just want to see hot amateur models presented as they really are: hot amateur models.” So thought Abby [sic] to herself back in 2000. But everywhere she looked she saw girls glammed up to look like “porn stars”. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and do it right. Her models are fresh, unspoiled, beautiful and healthy. Her photography is breath-taking, detailed, well-lit and – above all – SEXY.

Nearly seven [sic] years later, abbywinters.com is still true to Abby’s inspiration. It features healthy, joyful Australian girls having fun and being naked. Nothing is faked: real girls, real settings, real sex, real orgasms.

Yes, real orgasms! Finally!

Hail Ahmadinejad! Hail Chávez!

30 years ago, dead French philosophe Michel Foucault hailed the Islamic Revolution. See : ‘The Seductions of Islamism: Revisiting Foucault and the Iranian Revolution’, Janet Afary and Kevin B. Anderson, New Politics, Vol. 10, No. 1, Summer 2004:

The Iranian experience… raises some serious questions about Foucault’s thought. First, it is often assumed that Foucault’s suspicion of utopianism, his hostility to grand narratives and universals, and his stress on difference and singularity rather than totality, would make him less likely than his predecessors on the left to romanticize an authoritarian politics that promised radically to refashion from above the lives and thought of a people, for their ostensible benefit. However, his Iran writings showed that Foucault was not immune to the type of illusions that so many Western leftists had held toward the Soviet Union and later, China…

Second, Foucault’s highly problematic relationship to feminism becomes more than an intellectual lacuna in the case of Iran. On a few occasions, Foucault reproduced statements he had heard from religious figures on gender relations in a possible future Islamic republic, but he never questioned the “separate but equal” message of the Islamists. Foucault also dismissed feminist premonitions that the revolution was headed in a dangerous direction…

Third, an examination of Foucault’s writings provides more support for the frequently-articulated criticism that his one-sided critique of modernity needs to be seriously reconsidered, especially from the vantage point of many non-Western societies…

The Holocaust-denying-war-hero-with-the-gammy-leg’s magnificent victory in the recent Presidential election has been greeted with rapt enthusiasm by another contemporary hero of the authoritarian left: Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez (Chávez congratulates Ahmadinejad, Tehran Times, June 14, 2009):

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez has congratulated his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for the success of his re-election bid, in yesterday’s poll.

In a telephone conversation with the Iranian president, Chávez said, “The victory of Dr. Ahmadinejad in the recent election is a win for all people in the world and free nations against global arrogance,” Iran’s Presidential Office reported. Chávez usually uses the term “global arrogance” to refer to Venezuela’s arch-foe the United States.

The call came after preliminary results were announced by the Interior Ministry saying that Iran’s incumbent president has won a landslide victory, gaining more than 64 percent of the votes.

Chávez also noted that the Venezuelan people and government always stand behind the Iranians.

In his reply, Ahmadinejad said that, “Despite all pressures, the nation of Iran had completely won (the election) and indeed this victory shows the clear road for the future.”

Before the start of the election too, the socialist leader had wished Ahmadinejad good luck in his re-election bid.

Speaking to supporters Thursday, Chávez called the Iranian president “a courageous fighter for the Islamic Revolution, the defense of the Third World, and in the struggle against imperialism.”

Despite receiving the tick of approval from Uncle Hugo, right-wing, counter-revolutionary scum — obviously acting under orders of the CIA — have taken to the streets in protest at the result of what is alleged to be a fraudulent election.

Fortunately, Iranian police and civilian militias have responded promptly to this latest assault upon revolution, the Third World, and anti-imperialism.

Hail!
